Title
MariaDB: database privilege escalation via user / role name collision in the acl cache
Summary
MariaDB server is a community developed fork of MySQL server. From 10.6.1 until 10.6.28, 10.11.19, 11.4.13, 11.8.9, 12.3.3, and 13.0.2, MariaDB's ACL cache could generate the same database-privilege cache key for role and localhost user names that matched because both used an empty IP component. An attacker with CREATE USER could create the colliding principal and, when the original principal's database privileges were cached, exercise privileges assigned to the other account. This issue is fixed in versions 10.6.28, 10.11.19, 11.4.13, 11.8.9, 12.3.3, and 13.0.2.

Title
vm2 before 3.11.7 Module Allowlist Bypass via Custom Resolver
Summary
vm2 before 3.11.7 contains an incorrect authorization vulnerability in the external package allowlist check that uses non-exact substring matching instead of full package-name boundary validation. Attackers can bypass the allowlist by requiring a colliding package name that contains an allowlisted package substring, causing vm2 to load and execute unauthorized host packages in the host context.

Title
MariaDB: Numerous issues caused by historical #mysql50# tablename encoding bypass.
Summary
MariaDB server is a community developed fork of MySQL server. From 10.6.1 until 10.6.28, 10.11.19, 11.4.13, 11.8.9, 12.3.3, and 13.0.2, the #mysql50# bypass prefix is affected because it allows the #mysql50# prefix to bypass normal table-name filesystem encoding. An attacker can trigger the issue with a table name using the #mysql50# prefix, then use a #mysql50# table name to access files under their legacy unencoded name and cause crashes, data corruption, data exfiltration, or remote code execution. This issue is fixed in versions 10.6.28, 10.11.19, 11.4.13, 11.8.9, 12.3.3, and 13.0.2.

Title
Incorrect Authorization via Stale ProjectCache Eviction and Repeated .git Suffixes in Gerrit Code Review
Summary
Incorrect Authorization (CWE-863) in project name normalization (ProjectUtil.stripGitSuffix) and ProjectCache eviction logic (ProjectCacheImpl) in Gerrit Code Review versions 2.16.0 through 3.12.9, 3.13.0 through 3.13.8, and 3.14.0 through 3.14.2 allows an authenticated user (or an unauthenticated user if the repository was previously public) to cause unauthorized disclosure of private repository content and durable restoration of revoked project-owner administrative privileges via crafted requests using repeated .git suffixes (such as project.git.git) across REST APIs, Gitiles, or SSH Git commands. Because Gerrit strips only a single terminal .git suffix when constructing the logical ProjectCache key while JGit (FileKey.lenient) resolves the suffixed alias to the same canonical bare repository on disk, revoking read access or removing owner rules on the canonical project name fails to evict the cached alias ProjectState during the cache validity window, enabling reads of newly created private commits or writes to refs/meta/config. This issue is fixed in Gerrit Code Review versions 3.12.10, 3.13.9, and 3.14.3.

Title
Catalyst::Seal versions before 0.03 for Perl allow one request to disable a path or route a later one past an authorization check via a dispatch memo keyed on the request path alone
Summary
Catalyst::Seal versions before 0.03 for Perl allow one request to disable a path or route a later one past an authorization check via a dispatch memo keyed on the request path alone. Catalyst::Seal replaces the dispatcher's prepare_action with a version that memoises how a path resolved: which dispatch type matched, at which level, and what was left over as arguments. The key is the request path and nothing else. Action roles that match on the method, content type, scheme or query make that resolution depend on state the key does not carry, so the memo answers for a request it was not built from. A path that resolves to no action is memoised as well, and replaying that entry returns without consulting any dispatch type, so no action is set and the request fails. A GET of a path whose action is declared POST-only therefore disables that path for every later request, the correct POST included. An entry that did resolve replays the level the earlier descent reached. Where a POST-only action sits below a shallower action on the same path, a GET memoises the shallow route, and a later POST is dispatched there with an auto() guarding the deeper controller never running. The memo is cleared only when an action is registered, which happens at setup, so an entry lasts for the life of the process, and its cap of 2048 entries bounds how many paths one caller can disable. In the configuration measured, the misroute lands on the less privileged action, so it is an authorization check not running rather than a privilege gain.

CVE-2026-78359 (GCVE-0-2026-78359)

Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-10-12 06:49 – Updated: 2026-10-15 19:15

Title
Duplicate Identity / Identity Shadowing across CustomerUser backends
Summary
OTRS does not sufficiently enforce the uniqueness of customer user identities across multiple configured CustomerUser backends. When multiple backends, such as a database and LDAP, are configured, the uniqueness check for customer user email addresses is performed only within the selected backend. As a result, an authenticated user with permission to create or modify customer users may create a customer user whose email address is already assigned to a customer user in another backend. This can result in multiple customer user records representing the same communication identity. Depending on the affected workflow and backend resolution, customer-related information or email communication may subsequently be associated with or exposed to the wrong customer user. The vulnerability does not allow unauthenticated users to create customer accounts. Exploitation requires permissions to create or modify customer users. This issue affects OTRS: * 7.0.X * 8.0.X * 2023.X * 2024.X * 2025.X * 2026.X before 2026.7.X Please note that ((OTRS)) Community Edition 6.x and before are vulnerable. Products based on the ((OTRS)) Community Edition also very likely to be affected

Title
Notepad++ “Run by system” executes *.txt.cmd when user selected *.txt (target confusion → command execution)
Summary
Notepad++ is a free and open-source source code editor. Prior to 8.9.8, the Folder as Workspace Run by system action in Notepad++ can resolve a different sibling file than the file selected by the user. When an attacker places a command script whose name is the selected text-file path with .cmd appended, and the user invokes Run by system on the text file on Windows 10 or Windows 11, Notepad++ can execute the sibling script as the current user instead of opening the selected file. This issue is fixed in version 8.9.8.

Title
phpIPAM < 1.8.2 Authentication Bypass via REST API Object Cache
Summary
phpIPAM before 1.8.2 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability in the REST API that allows unauthenticated attackers to gain full API access by exploiting an insecure object cache keying mechanism. The cache is keyed by lookup value alone without including the searched column, enabling an entry written during an app_id lookup to satisfy a subsequent app_code lookup, allowing attackers to use the numeric database row identifier as an API token to read, write, and delete all IP address management records.

CAPEC-159: Redirect Access to Libraries

An adversary exploits a weakness in the way an application searches for external libraries to manipulate the execution flow to point to an adversary supplied library or code base. This pattern of attack allows the adversary to compromise the application or server via the execution of unauthorized code. An application typically makes calls to functions that are a part of libraries external to the application. These libraries may be part of the operating system or they may be third party libraries. If an adversary can redirect an application's attempts to access these libraries to other libraries that the adversary supplies, the adversary will be able to force the targeted application to execute arbitrary code. This is especially dangerous if the targeted application has enhanced privileges. Access can be redirected through a number of techniques, including the use of symbolic links, search path modification, and relative path manipulation.

CAPEC-177: Create files with the same name as files protected with a higher classification

An attacker exploits file location algorithms in an operating system or application by creating a file with the same name as a protected or privileged file. The attacker could manipulate the system if the attacker-created file is trusted by the operating system or an application component that attempts to load the original file. Applications often load or include external files, such as libraries or configuration files. These files should be protected against malicious manipulation. However, if the application only uses the name of the file when locating it, an attacker may be able to create a file with the same name and place it in a directory that the application will search before the directory with the legitimate file is searched. Because the attackers' file is discovered first, it would be used by the target application. This attack can be extremely destructive if the referenced file is executable and/or is granted special privileges based solely on having a particular name.

CAPEC-48: Passing Local Filenames to Functions That Expect a URL

This attack relies on client side code to access local files and resources instead of URLs. When the client browser is expecting a URL string, but instead receives a request for a local file, that execution is likely to occur in the browser process space with the browser's authority to local files. The attacker can send the results of this request to the local files out to a site that they control. This attack may be used to steal sensitive authentication data (either local or remote), or to gain system profile information to launch further attacks.

CAPEC-641: DLL Side-Loading

An adversary places a malicious version of a Dynamic-Link Library (DLL) in the Windows Side-by-Side (WinSxS) directory to trick the operating system into loading this malicious DLL instead of a legitimate DLL. Programs specify the location of the DLLs to load via the use of WinSxS manifests or DLL redirection and if they aren't used then Windows searches in a predefined set of directories to locate the file. If the applications improperly specify a required DLL or WinSxS manifests aren't explicit about the characteristics of the DLL to be loaded, they can be vulnerable to side-loading.
