The complete control of the client is made by the programmer. With libssh, you can remotely execute programs, transfer files, use a secure and transparent tunnel for your remote programs. With its Secure FTP implementation, you can play with remote files easily, without third-party programs others than libcrypto (from openssl).
Security Fix(es):
A weakness has been identified in libssh up to 0.11.3. The impacted element is the function sftp_extensions_get_name/sftp_extensions_get_data of the file src/sftp.c of the component SFTP Extension Name Handler. Executing a manipulation of the argument idx can lead to out-of-bounds read. The attack may be performed from remote. Upgrading to version 0.11.4 and 0.12.0 is sufficient to resolve this issue. This patch is called 855a0853ad3abd4a6cd85ce06fce6d8d4c7a0b60. You should upgrade the affected component.(CVE-2026-3731)
