Validating certificate chains which use policies is unexpectedly inefficient when certificates in the chain contain a very large number of policy mappings, possibly causing denial of service. On Unix platforms, when listing the contents of a directory using File.ReadDir or File.Readdir the returned FileInfo could reference a file outside of the Root in which the File was opened. Memory exhaustion in query parameter parsing in net/url
Summary
The net/url package does not set a limit on the number of query parameters in a query. While the maximum size of query parameters in URLs is generally limited by the maximum request header size, the net/http.Request.ParseForm method can parse large URL-encoded forms. Parsing a large form containing many unique query parameters can cause excessive memory consumption.

Unexpected session resumption in crypto/tls
Summary
During session resumption in crypto/tls, if the underlying Config has its ClientCAs or RootCAs fields mutated between the initial handshake and the resumed handshake, the resumed handshake may succeed when it should have failed. This may happen when a user calls Config.Clone and mutates the returned Config, or uses Config.GetConfigForClient. This can cause a client to resume a session with a server that it would not have resumed with during the initial handshake, or cause a server to resume a session with a client that it would not have resumed with during the initial handshake.

URLs in meta content attribute actions are not escaped in html/template
Summary
Actions which insert URLs into the content attribute of HTML meta tags are not escaped. This can allow XSS if the meta tag also has an http-equiv attribute with the value "refresh". A new GODEBUG setting has been added, htmlmetacontenturlescape, which can be used to disable escaping URLs in actions in the meta content attribute which follow "url=" by setting htmlmetacontenturlescape=0.

Title
Case-sensitive excludedSubtrees name constraints cause Auth Bypass in crypto/x509
Summary
When verifying a certificate chain containing excluded DNS constraints, these constraints are not correctly applied to wildcard DNS SANs which use a different case than the constraint. This only affects validation of otherwise trusted certificate chains, issued by a root CA in the VerifyOptions.Roots CertPool, or in the system certificate pool.

gRPC-Go has an authorization bypass via missing leading slash in :path
Summary
gRPC-Go is the Go language implementation of gRPC. Versions prior to 1.79.3 have an authorization bypass resulting from improper input validation of the HTTP/2 `:path` pseudo-header. The gRPC-Go server was too lenient in its routing logic, accepting requests where the `:path` omitted the mandatory leading slash (e.g., `Service/Method` instead of `/Service/Method`). While the server successfully routed these requests to the correct handler, authorization interceptors (including the official `grpc/authz` package) evaluated the raw, non-canonical path string. Consequently, "deny" rules defined using canonical paths (starting with `/`) failed to match the incoming request, allowing it to bypass the policy if a fallback "allow" rule was present. This affects gRPC-Go servers that use path-based authorization interceptors, such as the official RBAC implementation in `google.golang.org/grpc/authz` or custom interceptors relying on `info.FullMethod` or `grpc.Method(ctx)`; AND that have a security policy contains specific "deny" rules for canonical paths but allows other requests by default (a fallback "allow" rule). The vulnerability is exploitable by an attacker who can send raw HTTP/2 frames with malformed `:path` headers directly to the gRPC server. The fix in version 1.79.3 ensures that any request with a `:path` that does not start with a leading slash is immediately rejected with a `codes.Unimplemented` error, preventing it from reaching authorization interceptors or handlers with a non-canonical path string. While upgrading is the most secure and recommended path, users can mitigate the vulnerability using one of the following methods: Use a validating interceptor (recommended mitigation); infrastructure-level normalization; and/or policy hardening.

Handshake messages may be processed at the incorrect encryption level in crypto/tls
Summary
During the TLS 1.3 handshake if multiple messages are sent in records that span encryption level boundaries (for instance the Client Hello and Encrypted Extensions messages), the subsequent messages may be processed before the encryption level changes. TOCTOU permits root escape on Linux via Root.Chmod in os in internal/syscall/unix
Summary
On Linux, if the target of Root.Chmod is replaced with a symlink while the chmod operation is in progress, Chmod can operate on the target of the symlink, even when the target lies outside the root. The Linux fchmodat syscall silently ignores the AT_SYMLINK_NOFOLLOW flag, which Root.Chmod uses to avoid symlink traversal. Root.Chmod checks its target before acting and returns an error if the target is a symlink lying outside the root, so the impact is limited to cases where the target is replaced with a symlink between the check and operation.

Unexpected code execution when invoking toolchain in cmd/go

Downloading and building modules with malicious version strings can cause local code execution. On systems with Mercurial (hg) installed, downloading modules from non-standard sources (e.g., custom domains) can cause unexpected code execution due to how external VCS commands are constructed. This issue can also be triggered by providing a malicious version string to the toolchain. On systems with Git installed, downloading and building modules with malicious version strings can allow an attacker to write to arbitrary files on the filesystem. Impact
The OpenTelemetry Go SDK in version v1.20.0-1.39.0 is vulnerable to Path Hijacking (Untrusted Search Paths) on macOS/Darwin systems. The resource detection code in sdk/resource/host_id.go executes the ioreg system command using a search path. An attacker with the ability to locally modify the PATH environment variable can achieve Arbitrary Code Execution (ACE) within the context of the application.
Patches
This has been patched in d45961b, which was released with v1.40.0.

Summary
filippo.io/edwards25519 MultiScalarMult produces invalid results or undefined behavior if receiver is not the identity
Details
(*Point).MultiScalarMult failed to initialize its receiver.
If the method was called on an initialized point that is not the identity point, MultiScalarMult produced an incorrect result.
If the method was called on an uninitialized point, the behavior was undefined. In particular, if the receiver was the zero value, MultiScalarMult returned an invalid point that compared Equal to every point.
Note that MultiScalarMult is a rarely used advanced API. For example, if you only depend on filippo.io/edwards25519 via github.com/go-sql-driver/mysql, you are not affected. If you were notified of this issue despite not being affected, consider switching to a vulnerability scanner that is more precise and respectful of your attention, like govulncheck.

HashiCorp's go-getter library up to v1.8.5 may allow arbitrary file reads on the file system during certain git operations through a maliciously crafted URL. This is fixed in go-getter v1.8.6. This vulnerability does not affect the go-getter/v2 branch and package.

go-git: Credential leak via cross-host redirect in smart HTTP transport
Details
Impact
go-git may leak HTTP authentication credentials when following redirects during smart-HTTP clone and fetch operations.
If a remote repository responds to the initial /info/refs request with a redirect to a different host, go-git updates the session endpoint to the redirected location and reuses the original authentication for subsequent requests. This can result in the credentials (e.g. Authorization headers) being sent to an unintended host.
An attacker controlling or influencing the redirect target can capture these credentials and potentially reuse them to access the victim’s repositories or other resources, depending on the scope of the credential.
Clients using go-git exclusively with trusted remotes (for example, GitHub or GitLab), and over a secure HTTPS connection, are not affected by this issue. The risk arises when interacting with untrusted or misconfigured Git servers, or when using unsecured HTTP connections, which is not recommended. Such configurations also expose clients to a broader class of security risks beyond this issue, including credential interception and tampering of repository data.
Patches
Users should upgrade to v5.18.0, or v6.0.0-alpha.2, in order to mitigate this vulnerability. Versions prior to v5 are likely to be affected, users are recommended to upgrade to a supported go-git version.
The patched versions add support for configuring followRedirects. In line with upstream behaviour, the default is now initial, while users can opt into FollowRedirects or NoFollowRedirects programmatically.

CIRCL has an incorrect calculation in secp384r1 CombinedMult

The CombinedMult function in the CIRCL ecc/p384 package (secp384r1 curve) produces an incorrect value for specific inputs. The issue is fixed by using complete addition formulas. ECDH and ECDSA signing relying on this curve are not affected.
The bug was fixed in v1.6.3.
