Title
btrfs: tracepoints: get correct superblock from dentry in event btrfs_sync_file()
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
btrfs: tracepoints: get correct superblock from dentry in event btrfs_sync_file()
If overlay is used on top of btrfs, dentry->d_sb translates to overlay's
super block and fsid assignment will lead to a crash.
Use file_inode(file)->i_sb to always get btrfs_sb.

Local fsync paths also reach it, but the network file-server path is the highest reasonable vector.\nAC:L - Once the btrfs_sync_file tracepoint/perf event is active, triggering the bug is a deterministic fsync/flush on an overlay-backed btrfs file with no race or timing requirement. Overlay-on-btrfs is a normal supported configuration.\nPR:N - A remote client can plausibly reach the fsync path through a guest or writable NFS/SMB export without privileges on the vulnerable host. When uncertain, the higher severity no-privilege scenario is defensible.\nUI:N - No victim action is needed after the filesystem/export/tracing environment exists; the attacker only sends or performs the fsync/flush operation. Mounting or tracing setup is environmental, not per-exploit user interaction.\nS:U - The impact is within the same kernel security authority and does not cross a hypervisor, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary. Standard kernel crash or kernel-memory exposure remains scope unchanged.\nC:H - The bug type-confuses an overlay superblock as btrfs_fs_info and copies through the bogus fs_devices pointer into trace/perf data. If the pointer resolves to valid kernel memory, this can expose kernel memory, so the higher severity confidentiality impact is selected.\nI:N - The vulnerable operations are invalid reads and writes only to the trace record buffer, not attacker-controlled writes to kernel objects. No direct integrity modification or control-flow overwrite was found.\nA:H - The fix commit explicitly states the bad fsid assignment can crash, and the invalid superblock/fs_devices dereference can oops or panic the kernel. This is high availability impact."

Title
dlm: validate length in dlm_search_rsb_tree
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
dlm: validate length in dlm_search_rsb_tree
The len parameter in dlm_dump_rsb_name() is not validated and comes
from network messages. When it exceeds DLM_RESNAME_MAXLEN, it can
cause out-of-bounds write in dlm_search_rsb_tree().
Add length validation to prevent potential buffer overflow.
Severity
9.8 (Critical)
CWE
- CWE-130 - Improper Handling of Length Parameter Inconsistency

"value": "AV:N - The vulnerable path is reached by DLM recovery messages received over the kernel DLM TCP/SCTP lowcomms transport from a remote cluster peer. Although the peer address must match configured cluster membership, the bug is triggered by network protocol data delivered to the target kernel.\nAC:L - A remote peer that can send DLM recovery traffic controls the malformed RCOM_LOOKUP packet, including the special debug rc_id and oversized length/name payload. The recovery-state gate is a normal DLM condition that a participating peer can plausibly induce or target, so exploitation does not depend on conditions outside attacker control.\nPR:N - The vulnerable receive path does not require credentials or privileges on the target system before parsing the packet. Cluster peer/source-address admission is not a privilege on the vulnerable host, and there is no DLM authentication check before the oversized name reaches the copy.\nUI:N - No victim user action is required once the target DLM lockspace is active and receiving cluster traffic. The attacker sends the malformed recovery message directly.\nS:U - The impact is compromise or crash of the target kernel within the same security authority. This is not a VM escape, IOMMU bypass, or other cross-scope boundary.\nC:H - The bug is a network-controlled stack buffer overflow in the kernel, copying up to socket-buffer-sized attacker data into a 64-byte resource-name key. Such memory corruption is defensibly exploitable for kernel information disclosure as part of code execution or memory disclosure primitives.\nI:H - The oversized memcpy can corrupt the kernel stack, including control data, from attacker-controlled network bytes. This supports arbitrary kernel memory modification or code execution in the highest reasonable scenario.\nA:H - Even without reliable code execution, the stack overflow can corrupt kernel control state and readily crash or panic the system. The malformed packet can be sent remotely whenever the vulnerable DLM receive path is reachable."

Title
ksmbd: fix signededness bug in smb_direct_prepare_negotiation()
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: fix signededness bug in smb_direct_prepare_negotiation()
smb_direct_prepare_negotiation() casts an unsigned __u32 value
from sp->max_recv_size and req->preferred_send_size to a signed
int before computing min_t(int, ...). A maliciously provided
preferred_send_size of 0x80000000 will return as smaller than
max_recv_size, and then be used to set the maximum allowed
alowed receive size for the next message.
By sending a second message with a large value (>1420 bytes)
the attacker can then achieve a heap buffer overflow.
This fix replaces min_t(int, ...) with min_t(u32)
Severity
9.8 (Critical)

Title
ipv6: ioam: fix heap buffer overflow in __ioam6_fill_trace_data()
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv6: ioam: fix heap buffer overflow in __ioam6_fill_trace_data()
On the receive path, __ioam6_fill_trace_data() uses trace->nodelen
to decide how much data to write for each node. It trusts this field
as-is from the incoming packet, with no consistency check against
trace->type (the 24-bit field that tells which data items are
present). A crafted packet can set nodelen=0 while setting type bits
0-21, causing the function to write ~100 bytes past the allocated
region (into skb_shared_info), which corrupts adjacent heap memory
and leads to a kernel panic.
Add a shared helper ioam6_trace_compute_nodelen() in ioam6.c to
derive the expected nodelen from the type field, and use it:
- in ioam6_iptunnel.c (send path, existing validation) to replace
the open-coded computation;
- in exthdrs.c (receive path, ipv6_hop_ioam) to drop packets whose
nodelen is inconsistent with the type field, before any data is
written.
Per RFC 9197, bits 12-21 are each short (4-octet) fields, so they
are included in IOAM6_MASK_SHORT_FIELDS (changed from 0xff100000 to
0xff1ffc00).

Title
netconsole: avoid OOB reads, msg is not nul-terminated
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netconsole: avoid OOB reads, msg is not nul-terminated
msg passed to netconsole from the console subsystem is not guaranteed
to be nul-terminated. Before recent
commit 7eab73b18630 ("netconsole: convert to NBCON console infrastructure")
the message would be placed in printk_shared_pbufs, a static global
buffer, so KASAN had harder time catching OOB accesses. Now we see:
printk: console [netcon_ext0] enabled

"value": "AV:N - In a reasonable high-impact deployment, an internet-facing firewall/router can have netfilter LOG/nft log rules and extended netconsole with release prepend enabled, so unauthenticated remote packets can create printk records that flow into the vulnerable netconsole path. Netconsole itself sends UDP output rather than receiving commands, but the vulnerable code is reachable through network-triggered kernel logging.\nAC:L - Once the affected netconsole mode is configured and a log record is generated, the `%s` overread is deterministic and requires no race or attacker-uncontrolled timing. The non-fragmented path is easy to hit with ordinary short log messages.\nPR:N - For the network logging scenario, the attacker only sends packets that match an already configured logging rule and needs no account or privileges on the vulnerable host. Netconsole/configfs setup is an environmental prerequisite, not a per-attack privilege requirement.\nUI:N - No victim user action is required after the affected logging configuration is present. The attacker can trigger log generation directly.\nS:U - The vulnerability is in the kernel\u2019s own console/logging path and impacts kernel memory on the same host security authority. It does not cross a VM, IOMMU, or similar separate security boundary.\nC:H - The bug is an out-of-bounds read caused by treating a length-delimited printk buffer as NUL-terminated, allowing reads past the valid message into adjacent printk/slab memory. The leaked bytes can be transmitted in netconsole UDP output and repeated, so confidentiality impact is high.\nI:N - The vulnerable operation is a read-only string scan/copy into the netconsole transmit buffer. I found no out-of-bounds write, object corruption, or control-flow modification primitive.\nA:H - The fix commit shows a KASAN slab-out-of-bounds BUG in this path, and the unbounded `%s` scan can read past the allocation until a NUL byte or fault. Repeated attacker-triggered log messages can therefore reasonably cause kernel oops/panic or severe logging-path disruption."

Title
libceph: define and enforce CEPH_MAX_KEY_LEN
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
libceph: define and enforce CEPH_MAX_KEY_LEN
When decoding the key, verify that the key material would fit into
a fixed-size buffer in process_auth_done() and generally has a sane
length.
The new CEPH_MAX_KEY_LEN check replaces the existing check for a key
with no key material which is a) not universal since CEPH_CRYPTO_NONE
has to be excluded and b) doesn't provide much value since a smaller
than needed key is just as invalid as no key -- this has to be handled
elsewhere anyway.

Title
net/ipv6: ioam6: prevent schema length wraparound in trace fill
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net/ipv6: ioam6: prevent schema length wraparound in trace fill
ioam6_fill_trace_data() stores the schema contribution to the trace
length in a u8. With bit 22 enabled and the largest schema payload,
sclen becomes 1 + 1020 / 4, wraps from 256 to 0, and bypasses the
remaining-space check. __ioam6_fill_trace_data() then positions the
write cursor without reserving the schema area but still copies the
4-byte schema header and the full schema payload, overrunning the trace
buffer.
Keep sclen in an unsigned int so the remaining-space check and the write
cursor calculation both see the full schema length.

In a reasonable IOAM deployment with an active max-size schema, the triggering packet is network-delivered and unauthenticated.\nAC:L - There is no race or timing requirement; the attacker supplies a malformed IOAM trace with bit 22 set and insufficient remaining trace space. The required IOAM/schema configuration is part of the affected deployment scenario, and triggering is otherwise deterministic.\nPR:N - The inbound packet path does not require the sender to hold kernel privileges or authenticate. Although configuring IOAM namespaces/schemas requires administrative capability, a remote attacker can trigger the bug against an already configured IOAM node.\nUI:N - No victim user action is required after the affected IOAM node is configured. Packet receipt alone invokes the vulnerable trace fill path.\nS:U - The corruption occurs within the Linux kernel networking stack and impacts the same kernel security authority. This is not a guest-to-host, IOMMU, or other cross-scope boundary bypass.\nC:H - The bug is a heap/out-of-bounds write from the skb trace area caused by schema length wraparound. Kernel memory corruption can be leveraged to expose sensitive kernel memory or build stronger primitives.\nI:H - The vulnerable path copies the 4-byte schema header and up to 1020 bytes of schema data past the reserved trace buffer. This is a high-impact out-of-bounds write with potential for arbitrary kernel memory corruption/control-flow exploitation.\nA:H - The overflow can corrupt adjacent skb/kernel heap memory and is expected to cause kernel oops, panic, or networking instability. It can be triggered repeatedly with crafted packets in the affected deployment."

Title
ksmbd: fix use-after-free by using call_rcu() for oplock_info
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: fix use-after-free by using call_rcu() for oplock_info
ksmbd currently frees oplock_info immediately using kfree(), even
though it is accessed under RCU read-side critical sections in places
like opinfo_get() and proc_show_files().
Since there is no RCU grace period delay between nullifying the pointer
and freeing the memory, a reader can still access oplock_info
structure after it has been freed. This can leads to a use-after-free
especially in opinfo_get() where atomic_inc_not_zero() is called on
already freed memory.
Fix this by switching to deferred freeing using call_rcu().

A remote client can drive the request path to `smb2_open()`.\nAC:L - The bug is a UAF window around concurrent oplock/lease state changes, and an attacker can create concurrent SMB opens/lease breaks using multiple requests or connections. Under the rule to choose higher severity when uncertain, this is Low complexity.\nPR:N - `SMB2_CREATE` requires a valid session and tree connection, but ksmbd supports guest/anonymous SMB sessions and guest shares in a reasonable deployment. In that scenario no prior credentials are required.\nUI:N - Exploitation is driven entirely by network SMB requests. No victim user action is required after the server is running.\nS:U - The vulnerability is in the kernel SMB server and impacts the same host kernel security authority. It does not inherently cross a VM, hypervisor, or separate security scope boundary.\nC:H - The flaw is a use-after-free of `struct oplock_info` and its lease data after RCU protection is dropped. Kernel UAF memory corruption can be leveraged for high-impact information disclosure.\nI:H - The dangling `oplock_info` pointer can be used after free while building the SMB2 CREATE response, creating exploitable kernel memory corruption. UAFs are treated as capable of arbitrary write or control-flow impact.\nA:H - A remotely triggerable kernel UAF can cause an oops, panic, or service crash. Repeated SMB requests can make the availability impact high."
