    Title
RabbitMQ Java client ValueReader: Unbounded recursive table/array nesting causes StackOverflowError DoS
    Summary
The RabbitMQ Java client library allows Java and JVM-based applications to connect to and interact with RabbitMQ nodes. Prior to 5.33.1, src/main/java/com/rabbitmq/client/impl/ValueReader.java permits ValueReader.readTable and ValueReader.readArray to call ValueReader.readFieldValue recursively for AMQP table type F and AMQP array type A values without a nesting-depth limit. A malicious AMQP server or network intermediary can send approximately 580 nested table levels in the pre-authentication connection.start frame, fitting within the default 131072-byte frame maximum, to trigger StackOverflowError. The error terminates the client input processing thread and causes denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 5.33.1.

    Title
RabbitMQ Java client ValueReader: Oversized LongString/bytes length triggers OOM via unchecked allocation
    Summary
The RabbitMQ Java client library allows Java and JVM-based applications to connect to and interact with RabbitMQ nodes. Prior to 5.33.1, src/main/java/com/rabbitmq/client/impl/ValueReader.java uses ValueReader.readBytes to accept a wire-declared contentLength below Integer.MAX_VALUE and allocate a byte array before checking the bytes available in the frame. A malicious AMQP peer can send a LongString or byte-array field with type tag S and a declared length such as 0x7FFFFFFE during the pre-authentication connection.start server-properties table, causing an approximately 2 GB allocation and OutOfMemoryError before readFully consumes data. The resulting memory exhaustion can terminate the JVM and cause denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 5.33.1.

    Title
RabbitMQ Java client: Unvalidated Class.forName in JSON-RPC ProcedureDescription enables arbitrary class loading
    Summary
The RabbitMQ Java client library allows Java and JVM-based applications to connect to and interact with RabbitMQ nodes. Prior to 5.33.0, com.rabbitmq.tools.jsonrpc.ProcedureDescription receives a javaReturnType value in an untrusted system.describe response and passes it through JSONUtil.tryFill, setJavaReturnType, and computeReturnTypeAsJavaClass to Class.forName(javaReturnType) with initialization enabled. An attacker able to answer the JsonRpcClient request through a shared broker or network interception can select a class already present in the victim JVM and trigger its static initializer, while JsonRpcClient.java later passes getReturnType output to mapper.parse and may also create type confusion. Successful exploitation can affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability in the client process. This issue is fixed in version 5.33.0.

    Title
RabbitMQ Java client: TrustEverythingTrustManager used by default in useSslProtocol() enables MITM
    Summary
The RabbitMQ Java client library allows Java and JVM-based applications to connect to and interact with RabbitMQ nodes. Prior to 5.33.0, com.rabbitmq.client.ConnectionFactory.useSslProtocol() and ConnectionFactory.useSslProtocol(String) configure com.rabbitmq.client.TrustEverythingTrustManager and leave hostname verification disabled, causing arbitrary server certificates, including self-signed certificates, to be accepted. A network attacker able to intercept a TLS connection can impersonate the RabbitMQ broker, read protected AMQP traffic, and modify traffic without certificate or hostname validation. The fix changes the production TLS helpers to use the JVM default trust store and enables hostname verification, while retaining an explicitly named development-only no-verification helper. This issue is fixed in version 5.33.0.

    Title
RabbitMQ Java client malformed body frame triggers raw command assembler exception
    Summary
The RabbitMQ Java client library allows Java and JVM-based applications to connect to and interact with RabbitMQ nodes. Prior to 5.31.0, inbound AMQP command assembly in src/main/java/com/rabbitmq/client/impl/CommandAssembler.java processes a content-bearing method and header whose remainingBodyBytes value is smaller than a following AMQP.FRAME_BODY payload. CommandAssembler.consumeBodyFrame subtracts the peer-controlled payload length before validating that it fits, drives remainingBodyBytes negative, and throws a raw UnsupportedOperationException instead of MalformedFrameException. A malicious or compromised broker peer can send this malformed sequence on an open nonzero channel to terminate frame processing and close the client connection, causing denial of service for work using that connection. This issue is fixed in version 5.31.0.

    Title
RabbitMQ Java client accepts broker frames larger than the negotiated AMQP frame_max
    Summary
The RabbitMQ Java client library allows Java and JVM-based applications to connect to and interact with RabbitMQ nodes. Prior to 5.33.0, the AMQP connection tuning path records the negotiated AMQP frame_max value, but src/main/java/com/rabbitmq/client/impl/SocketFrameHandler.java and NettyFrameHandlerFactory continue to validate broker-controlled frame payload lengths against maxInboundMessageBodySize because the negotiated limit is not applied consistently through setMaxInboundFramePayloadSize. A malicious or compromised broker can send a method frame larger than the negotiated frame_max during or after connection establishment, causing the client to allocate and decode a protocol-invalid frame instead of rejecting it with MalformedFrameException. The protocol violation can disrupt the affected connection and cause client-side denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 5.33.0.

    Title
RabbitMQ: Passive queue/exchange declaration bypasses authorization checks, leaking queue metadata to unprivileged users
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6, RabbitMQ does not perform authorization checks on passive queue.declare and exchange.declare AMQP 0-9-1 operations, allowing any authenticated user who can connect to a virtual host to enumerate queue and exchange names and read queue message and consumer counts. This issue is fixed in versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6.

    Title
RabbitMQ: Stream listener does not enforce configured frame-size limit during authentication, permitting unauth'd mem-exhaust DoS
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to 4.2.6, the RabbitMQ stream listener does not enforce the configured stream frame-size limit while assembling frames during authentication and before Tune negotiation, allowing an unauthenticated remote client to declare oversized frame lengths and consume broker memory in rabbit_stream_core. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.6.

    CVE-2026-57219 (GCVE-0-2026-57219)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-07-10 20:22 – Updated: 2026-07-29 19:26
    VLAI
    Title
RabbitMQ: Unauthenticated disclosure of OAuth client credentials via an HTTP API endpoint with certain less common OAuth 2 configurations
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6, the obsolete GET /api/auth endpoint can disclose the OAuth 2 client secret on RabbitMQ installations configured with management.oauth_client_secret, exposing credentials to unauthenticated callers when the management plugin and that OAuth configuration are enabled. This issue is fixed in versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6.

    Title
RabbitMQ: AMQP 0-9-1 in combination with OAuth 2: consumer persistence can lead to post-revocation message disclosure
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to 4.2.6, RabbitMQ AMQP 0-9-1 allows an existing consumer to keep receiving messages after OAuth token expiry or connection.update_secret refresh to reduced scopes because existing consumers are not canceled or reauthorized at delivery time after the channel user state changes. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.6.

    CVE-2026-57217 (GCVE-0-2026-57217)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-07-10 20:25 – Updated: 2026-07-13 15:58
    VLAI
    Title
RabbitMQ: Topic authorization can lead to cross-tenant routing-key bypass
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to 3.13.15, 4.0.21, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6, RabbitMQ topic authorization can allow restricted topic writes and binds during metadata-store failures because topic-permission lookup errors from Khepri can collapse to undefined, which the internal backend treats as allow. This issue is fixed in versions 3.13.15, 4.0.21, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6.

    CVE-2026-57216 (GCVE-0-2026-57216)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-07-10 20:20 – Updated: 2026-07-13 14:01

    Title
RabbitMQ: AMQP 1.0, AMQP 0-9-1, Stream Protocol loopback enforcement can lead to remote guest sessions due to listener-address loopback checks
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6, AMQP 0-9-1, AMQP 1.0, and Stream Protocol authentication can allow a loopback-restricted user such as guest to connect remotely when traffic is accepted through a trusted PROXY-protocol path and the backend listener is loopback-bound because the loopback check uses the listener-side socket address instead of the real client source. This issue is fixed in versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6.

    Title
RabbitMQ: Direct-reply-to binding persistence can lead to unauthorized reply-channel injection and persistent phantom
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6, RabbitMQ allows foreign bindings to amq.rabbitmq.reply-to destinations because volatile direct-reply-to queues can be accepted at bind and route time but are missing from Khepri-backed deletion checks, leaving persistent route entries after unbind. This issue is fixed in versions 3.13.15, 4.0.20, 4.1.11, and 4.2.6.

    Title
RabbitMQ: Stored XSS in RabbitMQ management UI
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to 4.2.5, the RabbitMQ management UI renders the x-internal-purpose queue or exchange argument into an HTML title attribute without proper escaping on the Queues and Exchanges pages, allowing a user with permission to declare a queue or exchange to execute JavaScript in another user's browser. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.5.

    Title
RabbitMQ: Stored XSS federation management plugin via unsanitized consumer_tag rendering
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to 3.13.14, 4.0.19, 4.1.10, and 4.2.5, the rabbitmq_federation_management plugin renders the consumer_tag field on the Federation Status page without HTML escaping, allowing a user who can configure a federation upstream or policy to execute JavaScript in the browser of a user viewing that page. This issue is fixed in versions 3.13.14, 4.0.19, 4.1.10, and 4.2.5.

    CVE-2026-57212 (GCVE-0-2026-57212)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-07-10 20:15 – Updated: 2026-07-13 18:55
    VLAI
    Title
RabbitMQ management HTTP API accepts request bodies larger than configured max_http_body_size
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to 3.13.14, 4.0.19, 4.1.10, and 4.2.5, the rabbitmq_management HTTP API accepts oversized valid JSON bodies on with_decode and direct_request paths because read_complete_body checks the accumulated size before the final chunk but not the final combined size. This issue is fixed in versions 3.13.14, 4.0.19, 4.1.10, and 4.2.5.

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-07-10 20:16 – Updated: 2026-07-13 16:13
    VLAI
    Title
RabbitMQ: UNC SSRF affecting the management UI on Windows
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Prior to 4.1.11 and 4.2.6 on Windows, the RabbitMQ management plugin static file handler rabbit_mgmt_wm_static can pass URL-encoded backslashes to erl_prim_loader:read_file_info before path validation when multiple management extension plugins are enabled, causing outbound DNS and SMB requests to attacker-controlled UNC paths. This issue is fixed in versions 4.1.11 and 4.2.6.

RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. From 4.2.0 to before 4.2.4, RabbitMQ's MQTT plugin allows for topic-level authorization using regular expressions with variable substitution. Administrators can create patterns such as ^{client_id}-sensors$ to restrict user access to topics that include their client ID. However, the client_id is provided by the user in the MQTT CONNECT packet and is inserted into the regex pattern without escaping special regex characters. This flaw enables an authenticated MQTT user to inject regex operators to bypass authorization. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.2.4 and 4.3.0.

    CVE-2025-50200 (GCVE-0-2025-50200)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2025-06-19 16:14 – Updated: 2025-06-20 17:43
    VLAI
    Title
RabbitMQ Node can log Basic Auth header from an HTTP request
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. In versions 3.13.7 and prior, RabbitMQ is logging authorization headers in plaintext encoded in base64. When querying RabbitMQ api with HTTP/s with basic authentication it creates logs with all headers in request, including authorization headers which show base64 encoded username:password. This is easy to decode and afterwards could be used to obtain control to the system depending on credentials. This issue has been patched in version 4.0.8.

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2025-03-25 22:55 – Updated: 2025-03-26 13:43

    Title
RabbitMQ has XSS Vulnerability in an Error Message in Management UI
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. Versions prior to 4.0.3 are vulnerable to a sophisticated attack that could modify virtual host name on disk and then make it unrecoverable (with other on disk file modifications) can lead to arbitrary JavaScript code execution in the browsers of management UI users. When a virtual host on a RabbitMQ node fails to start, recent versions will display an error message (a notification) in the management UI. The error message includes virtual host name, which was not escaped prior to open source RabbitMQ 4.0.3 and Tanzu RabbitMQ 4.0.3, 3.13.8. An attack that both makes a virtual host fail to start and creates a new virtual host name with an XSS code snippet or changes the name of an existing virtual host on disk could trigger arbitrary JavaScript code execution in the management UI (the user's browser). Open source RabbitMQ `4.0.3` and Tanzu RabbitMQ `4.0.3` and `3.13.8` patch the issue.

    Title
HTTP API's queue deletion endpoint does not verify that the user has a required permission
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a feature rich, multi-protocol messaging and streaming broker. In affected versions queue deletion via the HTTP API was not verifying the `configure` permission of the user. Users who had all of the following: 1. Valid credentials, 2. Some permissions for the target virtual host & 3. HTTP API access. could delete queues it had no (deletion) permissions for. This issue has been addressed in version 3.12.11 of the open source rabbitMQ release and in versions 1.5.2, 3.13.0, and 4.0.0 of the tanzu release. Users are advised to upgrade. Users unable to upgrade may disable management plugin and use, for example, Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring.

    Title
RabbitMQ Java client's lack of message size limitation leads to remote DoS attack
    Summary
The RabbitMQ Java client library allows Java and JVM-based applications to connect to and interact with RabbitMQ nodes. `maxBodyLebgth` was not used when receiving Message objects. Attackers could send a very large Message causing a memory overflow and triggering an OOM Error. Users of RabbitMQ may suffer from DoS attacks from RabbitMQ Java client which will ultimately exhaust the memory of the consumer. This vulnerability was patched in version 5.18.0.

    Title
Denial of Service by publishing large messages over the HTTP API
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a multi-protocol messaging and streaming broker. HTTP API did not enforce an HTTP request body limit, making it vulnerable for denial of service (DoS) attacks with very large messages. An authenticated user with sufficient credentials can publish a very large messages over the HTTP API and cause target node to be terminated by an "out-of-memory killer"-like mechanism. This vulnerability has been patched in versions 3.11.24 and 3.12.7.

    Title
Predictable credential obfuscation seed value used in rabbitmq-server
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a multi-protocol messaging and streaming broker. In affected versions the shovel and federation plugins perform URI obfuscation in their worker (link) state. The encryption key used to encrypt the URI was seeded with a predictable secret. This means that in case of certain exceptions related to Shovel and Federation plugins, reasonably easily deobfuscatable data could appear in the node log. Patched versions correctly use a cluster-wide secret for that purpose. This issue has been addressed and Patched versions: `3.10.2`, `3.9.18`, `3.8.32` are available. Users unable to upgrade should disable the Shovel and Federation plugins.

    CVE-2021-32719 (GCVE-0-2021-32719)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2021-06-28 15:15 – Updated: 2024-08-03 23:25
    VLAI
    Title
Improper Neutralization of Script-Related HTML Tags in a Web Page (Basic XSS) in RabbitMQ federation management plugin
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a multi-protocol messaging broker. In rabbitmq-server prior to version 3.8.18, when a federation link was displayed in the RabbitMQ management UI via the `rabbitmq_federation_management` plugin, its consumer tag was rendered without proper <script> tag sanitization. This potentially allows for JavaScript code execution in the context of the page. The user must be signed in and have elevated permissions (manage federation upstreams and policies) for this to occur. The vulnerability is patched in RabbitMQ 3.8.18. As a workaround, disable the `rabbitmq_federation_management` plugin and use [CLI tools](https://www.rabbitmq.com/cli.html) instead.

    Title
Improper Neutralization of Script-Related HTML Tags in a Web Page (Basic XSS) in RabbitMQ management UI
    Summary
RabbitMQ is a multi-protocol messaging broker. In rabbitmq-server prior to version 3.8.17, a new user being added via management UI could lead to the user's bane being rendered in a confirmation message without proper `<script>` tag sanitization, potentially allowing for JavaScript code execution in the context of the page. In order for this to occur, the user must be signed in and have elevated permissions (other user management). The vulnerability is patched in RabbitMQ 3.8.17. As a workaround, disable `rabbitmq_management` plugin and use CLI tools for management operations and Prometheus and Grafana for metrics and monitoring.
