Title
Netty: HAProxy V1 Protocol CRLF Injection via AF_UNIX Address
Summary
Netty is an asynchronous, event-driven network application framework. In versions prior to 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final, Netty's HAProxy encoder ( HAProxyMessageEncoder ) writes AF_UNIX source and destination socket addresses into the HAProxy V1 text protocol without validating them for CRLF characters, so an attacker who controls an AF_UNIX address can inject  \r\n  sequences and split the single PROXY header into multiple lines. This is possible because the V1 protocol uses CRLF as its line terminator and, unlike IPv4/IPv6 addresses whose format checks implicitly reject CRLF, AF_UNIX addresses are only validated for length (up to 108 bytes), allowing a forged second PROXY header line that spoofs the client source/destination IP to a downstream server or load balancer. The issue is fixed in versions 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final.

Title
SuperPlane < 0.30.0 SMTP Header Injection via Webhook Event Title
Summary
SuperPlane before 0.30.0 contains an SMTP header injection vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary SMTP headers by including CRLF sequences in the event payload title field delivered via webhook. Attackers can manipulate the unsanitized title field passed to the SMTP DATA command to add Bcc recipients for content exfiltration, forge the From address to bypass SPF and DKIM checks, or inject Content-Type and MIME boundary headers to corrupt message bodies for phishing.

Title
guzzlehttp/psr7: CRLF Injection in HTTP Start-Line Serialization
Summary
guzzlehttp/psr7 is a PSR-7 HTTP message library implementation in PHP. Prior to 2.12.1, guzzlehttp/psr7 did not reject CR/LF characters in certain first-party HTTP start-line fields: the request method, protocol version, and response reason phrase. If an application placed attacker-controlled data into one of those fields and later serialized the PSR-7 message as raw HTTP/1.x, for example with Message::toString() or an equivalent serializer, the serialized message could contain attacker-controlled header lines. The issue can also be reached through Message::parseRequest() or Message::parseResponse() when malformed raw messages are parsed into first-party PSR-7 objects and then serialized again. Creating or modifying a Request, Response, or other PSR-7 object alone is not sufficient. The issue requires the malformed message to be serialized and written to the network, forwarded, replayed, or otherwise processed by software that does not independently reject the malformed start line. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.12.1.

"value": "guzzlehttp/psr7 is a PSR-7 HTTP message library implementation in PHP. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.12.1."

Title
http-proxy-middleware: multipart/form-data field injection via unescaped CRLF in `fixRequestBody`
Summary
http-proxy-middleware is node.js http-proxy middleware. From 3.0.4 until 3.0.7 and 4.1.1, fixRequestBody() is the library's documented helper for re-emitting a request body that was already consumed by a body parser. When the outgoing Content-Type is multipart/form-data, it rebuilds the body with handlerFormDataBodyData(), which interpolates each req.body key and value directly into the multipart wire format without neutralizing CR/LF. A \r\n inside a value (or key) lets an attacker close the current part and inject an entirely new form part. Because the proxy's own body parser saw a single opaque value, any gateway-side policy or validation performed on req.body is evaluated against a different set of fields than the upstream backend ultimately parses a request/parameter desynchronization across the trust boundary. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.0.7 and 4.1.1.

Title
@logtape/syslog: syslog log injection via unescaped control characters and unvalidated SD-NAME keys
Summary
LogTape is an unobtrusive logging library. Prior to 1.3.11, 2.0.14, and 2.1.5, the @logtape/syslog package's escapeStructuredDataValue() function in packages/syslog/src/syslog.ts does not neutralize C0 control characters from U+0000 through U+001F in structured data values, and formatStructuredData() inserts property keys without validating the RFC 5424 SD-NAME grammar. When includeStructuredData is true, an attacker-controlled newline can terminate an RFC 6587 non-transparent TCP syslog frame and make following bytes appear as a forged RFC 5424 record, while a key containing a closing bracket or other forbidden character can terminate or corrupt the structured-data element. Applications that forward attacker-controlled property values or keys can therefore allow forged records with arbitrary hosts, applications, process identifiers, facilities, or severity levels, undermining downstream collector and SIEM integrity. This issue is fixed in versions 1.3.11, 2.0.14, and 2.1.5.

Title
rsync < 3.5.0 Newline Injection via name-converter uid/gid mapping
Summary
rsync before 3.5.0 contains a newline injection vulnerability in the name-converter uid/gid mapping interface that allows local attackers to forge protocol messages by creating user or group names containing newline characters. Attackers can inject malicious newline characters into names communicated over the pipe-based line-oriented protocol to cause the rsync daemon to process attacker-influenced data as legitimate protocol input, corrupting uid/gid mapping logic.

Title
aiosmtplib: SMTP command injection via CR/LF in sender/recipient address
Summary
aiosmtplib is an asynchronous SMTP client for use with asyncio. Prior to 5.1.1, SMTP.mail(), SMTP.rcpt(), SMTP.vrfy(), and SMTP.expn() send caller-supplied addresses without rejecting embedded CR or LF bytes. Data after the line break is framed as additional standalone SMTP command lines, allowing an attacker who influences an envelope sender or recipient to inject commands such as MAIL FROM, RCPT TO, RSET, DATA, or AUTH. SMTP.sendmail() and SMTP.send() without a Message object pass addresses through the affected methods, while SMTP.send_message() is not affected. Successful injection can desynchronize the command-response pipeline, hang the SMTP instance, or send an arbitrary message without requiring attacker control of the SMTP server. This issue is fixed in version 5.1.1.

Metrics::Any::Adapter::SignalFx versions before 0.04 for Perl does not protect against metric injections
Summary
Metrics::Any::Adapter::SignalFx versions before 0.04 for Perl does not protect against metric injections. The statsd protocol (and extensions such as dogstatsd) allow mutiple metrics, separated by newlines, to be sent per packet. Metrics::Any::Adapter::SignalFx which extends Metrics::Any::Adapter::Statsd, which has a similar vulnerability. In addition, the _labels function does not check tags labels newlines or statsd control characters. The labels can be used for metric injections.

Title
Metrics::Any::Adapter::Statsd versions before 0.04 for Perl does not protect against metric injections
Summary
Metrics::Any::Adapter::Statsd versions before 0.04 for Perl does not protect against metric injections. The statsd protocol (and extensions) allow mutiple metrics, separated by newlines, to be sent per packet. The send method does not validate the contents of the metric names or values. If the names have newlines and statsd control characters (colon, pipe) then metric injections are possible. Version 0.04 fixed this by modifying the _make method to block metric names with characters below ASCII 32 (which includes the newline), or colons or pipes.

Mitigation
Implementation

Avoid using CRLF as a special sequence.

Mitigation
Implementation

Appropriately filter or quote CRLF sequences in user-controlled input.

CAPEC-15: Command Delimiters

An attack of this type exploits a programs' vulnerabilities that allows an attacker's commands to be concatenated onto a legitimate command with the intent of targeting other resources such as the file system or database. The system that uses a filter or denylist input validation, as opposed to allowlist validation is vulnerable to an attacker who predicts delimiters (or combinations of delimiters) not present in the filter or denylist. As with other injection attacks, the attacker uses the command delimiter payload as an entry point to tunnel through the application and activate additional attacks through SQL queries, shell commands, network scanning, and so on.

CAPEC-81: Web Server Logs Tampering

Web Logs Tampering attacks involve an attacker injecting, deleting or otherwise tampering with the contents of web logs typically for the purposes of masking other malicious behavior. Additionally, writing malicious data to log files may target jobs, filters, reports, and other agents that process the logs in an asynchronous attack pattern. This pattern of attack is similar to "Log Injection-Tampering-Forging" except that in this case, the attack is targeting the logs of the web server and not the application.
