Die Schwachstelle besteht beim Parsen von JP2-Dateien aufgrund einer unsachgemäßen Validierung der vom Benutzer bereitgestellten Daten, was zu einem Out-of-Bounds-Read führt, der sensible Speicherdaten offenlegen kann. Ein entfernter, anonymer Angreifer kann diese Schwachstelle ausnutzen, um vertrauliche Informationen offenzulegen. Für eine erfolgreiche Ausnutzung ist eine Benutzerinteraktion erforderlich; das Opfer muss eine bösartige Datei öffnen.
