In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: calipso: Don't call calipso functions for AF_INET sk. syzkaller reported a null-ptr-deref in txopt_get(). [0] The offset 0x70 was of struct ipv6_txoptions in struct ipv6_pinfo, so struct ipv6_pinfo was NULL there. However, this never happens for IPv6 sockets as inet_sk(sk)->pinet6 is always set in inet6_create(), meaning the socket was not IPv6 one. The root cause is missing validation in netlbl_conn_setattr(). netlbl_conn_setattr() switches branches based on struct sockaddr.sa_family, which is passed from userspace. However, netlbl_conn_setattr() does not check if the address family matches the socket. The syzkaller must have called connect() for an IPv6 address on an IPv4 socket. We have a proper validation in tcp_v[46]_connect(), but security_socket_connect() is called in the earlier stage. Let's copy the validation to netlbl_conn_setattr(). A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Server-Message-Block Direct (SMC-D) client. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted SMC-Dv2 proposal with a Channel Identifier (CHID) of 0. This malicious proposal can cause a null pointer dereference in the kernel's SMC connection creation process, leading to a system crash and a Denial of Service (DoS).

CWE-476 - NULL Pointer Dereference
Affected products
Fixed 320 products, the same list as for CVE-2025-38147
Threats
Impact Moderate

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's handling of IPv4 raw sockets. An unprivileged attacker with CAP_NET_RAW capabilities can craft and inject a malformed IPv4 packet with an invalid Internet Header Length (IHL). This can lead to an out-of-bounds memory access when the packet is processed by certain kernel components, ultimately causing a kernel panic and a denial of service.

CWE-805 - Buffer Access with Incorrect Length Value
Affected products
Fixed 320 products, the same list as for CVE-2025-38147
Threats
Impact Moderate

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's FUSE (Filesystem in Userspace) component. The `fuse_ref_folio()` function does not properly re-lock a request after unlocking it, which can lead to a use-after-free vulnerability. A local attacker could exploit this flaw to potentially execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service.

CWE-825 - Expired Pointer Dereference
Affected products
Fixed 320 products, the same list as for CVE-2025-38147
Threats
Impact Moderate

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's ALSA sound driver for the cs35l41 component. This vulnerability occurs because the driver fails to properly remove controls and cancel firmware load work during component unbinding or device removal, especially when firmware autostart is disabled. This can lead to a worker attempting to access driver data that is no longer valid after teardown, resulting in memory corruption. An attacker with local access could potentially exploit this to cause a denial of service or escalate privileges.

CWE-825 - Expired Pointer Dereference
Affected products
Fixed 320 products, the same list as for CVE-2025-38147
Threats
Impact Moderate

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's IPv4 forwarding information base (FIB) component. A local attacker with administrative network capabilities (CAP_NET_ADMIN) could exploit a timing issue during route insertion and lookup operations. This could lead to a "use-after-free" vulnerability, where the system attempts to access memory that has already been released. The most important consequence is a denial of service, potentially causing system instability or crashes.

CWE-825 - Expired Pointer Dereference
Affected products
Fixed 320 products, the same list as for CVE-2025-38147
Threats
Impact Moderate

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's ALSA (Advanced Linux Sound Architecture) sequencer component. An unprivileged local user with access to the sound device can exploit a timing window during the cleanup of a queue timer. This allows the user to re-open a timer that has already been closed, leading to a use-after-free vulnerability. This can result in a system crash (denial of service) or potentially lead to arbitrary code execution.

CWE-825 - Expired Pointer Dereference
Affected products
Fixed 320 products, the same list as for CVE-2025-38147
Threats
Impact Important

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's drm/amd/display component. Specifically, within the `dm_update_crtc_state()` function, a stream pointer is released but not subsequently set to NULL. This can lead to a double release of the same pointer if an error occurs later in the process, creating a use-after-free vulnerability. This issue could potentially lead to memory corruption or a denial of service.

CWE-763 - Release of Invalid Pointer or Reference
Affected products
Fixed 320 products, the same list as for CVE-2025-38147
Threats
Impact Important

A flaw was found in the `drm/amdgpu` component of the Linux kernel. A use-after-unlock vulnerability exists where a virtual machine (VM) pointer is dereferenced after its protective lock has been released. This allows the pointer to be modified, potentially leading to memory corruption. An attacker could exploit this to cause a denial of service or achieve privilege escalation.

CWE-825 - Expired Pointer Dereference
Affected products
Fixed 320 products, the same list as for CVE-2025-38147
Threats
Impact Moderate

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's DisplayPort (DP) Multi-Stream Transport (MST) subsystem. This vulnerability involves multiple buffer overflows within the `drm_dp_sideband_append_payload()` function when handling data from connected devices. A physically connected, malicious DP MST device can exploit this by sending specially crafted messages, leading to memory corruption. This could potentially allow an attacker to cause system instability or execute unauthorized code.

CWE-120 - Buffer Copy without Checking Size of Input ('Classic Buffer Overflow')
Affected products
Fixed 320 products, the same list as for CVE-2025-38147
Threats
Impact Moderate

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's overlayfs component. When copying files across different overlay filesystems, the system incorrectly checked read permissions using the destination filesystem's credentials instead of the source's. This oversight could allow an unauthorized user to read files that should otherwise be restricted, leading to information disclosure.

CWE-266 - Incorrect Privilege Assignment
Affected products
Fixed 320 products, the same list as for CVE-2025-38147
Threats
Impact Moderate

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's XFS filesystem. A local attacker, by mounting a specially crafted XFS image, could trigger an out-of-bounds write during log recovery. This vulnerability allows for kernel heap corruption, which could lead to a denial of service or potentially arbitrary code execution.

CWE-787 - Out-of-bounds Write
Affected products
Fixed 320 products, the same list as for CVE-2025-38147
Threats
Impact Moderate

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's network fragment reassembly process. An unprivileged local user, or a guest in a virtualized environment, could craft specially formed IPv4 or IPv6 network fragments that incorrectly retain Generic Segmentation Offload (GSO) state after reassembly. This misinterpretation of network packet state can lead to a kernel panic, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) for the affected system.

CWE-843 - Access of Resource Using Incompatible Type ('Type Confusion')
Affected products
Fixed 320 products, the same list as for CVE-2025-38147
Threats
Impact Important

A flaw was found in the `drm/vmwgfx` component of the Linux kernel. An integer overflow vulnerability exists in the `vmw_shader_define()` function due to improper validation of user-supplied shader window size and offset. When the offset value is close to its maximum, an unsigned addition can wrap around, causing the size check to pass incorrectly. This allows an unbounded offset to be used, which could lead to memory corruption and potentially privilege escalation or denial of service.

CWE-1285 - Improper Validation of Specified Index, Position, or Offset in Input
Affected products
Fixed 320 products, the same list as for CVE-2025-38147
Threats
Impact Important

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's perf subsystem. A race condition exists between the perf mmap() revival and the last munmap() operation. This allows a local unprivileged user to exploit a use-after-free vulnerability, leading to local privilege escalation to root.

CWE-825 - Expired Pointer Dereference
Affected products
Fixed 320 products, the same list as for CVE-2025-38147
Threats
Impact Important

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's drm/amdkfd component. This vulnerability arises from a race condition where the Micro Engine Scheduler (MES) fails to perform a necessary Translation Lookaside Buffer (TLB) invalidation after unmapping queues. This oversight allows in-flight Direct Memory Access (DMA) descriptors to access memory that has already been unmapped, leading to page faults and potential GPU queue hangs, particularly during Shared Virtual Memory (SVM) page migration.

CWE-825 - Expired Pointer Dereference
Affected products
Fixed 320 products, the same list as for CVE-2025-38147
Threats

    Related by attack behaviour

Vulnerabilities whose description is nearest to this one in the vector space of the CIRCL/vulnerability-attack-technique-biencoder model. This is a similarity search over the bi-encoder space (plain cosine), not a classification, and it has no measured accuracy.
