RHSA-2026:65157
Vulnerability from csaf_redhat - Published: 2026-09-08 08:56 - Updated: 2026-10-22 21:29A flaw in Grafana allows authenticated 'Editor' users to inject malicious scripts into a table panel's field names. Viewing the compromised dashboard executes the script in the victim's browser, risking data theft or client-side attacks.

A flaw was found in Grafana. An unauthenticated attacker can repeatedly access the OAuth login route with unique values. This can lead to unbounded memory growth, eventually exhausting system memory and causing the Grafana instance to crash. This results in a denial of service for legitimate users.
A flaw was found in Grafana. This vulnerability, categorized as broken access control, allows an attacker to bypass security mechanisms in a web application. This can lead to unauthorized access to sensitive data, enable operations on behalf of other users, and potentially result in privilege escalation or account takeovers.
A flaw was found in Grafana. An authenticated attacker with Editor access or `alert.instances.external:write` permissions can submit an external Alertmanager alert containing a controlled `generatorURL`. Grafana improperly renders this URL without proper sanitization, allowing for a bypass of the click interceptor's security heuristic. This can lead to a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability, where a user with read access who clicks the 'See source' link will execute attacker-controlled JavaScript in their browser with the permissions of the clicking user, potentially leading to information disclosure or unauthorized actions.
A flaw was found in Grafana's Unified Alerting component. An authenticated user with permissions to create or edit alert rules in a folder can bypass datasource query permissions. By manipulating the `queryType` field, an attacker can execute queries against datasources they are not authorized to access, leading to the disclosure of sensitive data. This vulnerability arises from inconsistent query classification between authorization and execution paths.
A flaw was found in Grafana. A remote attacker with very low privileges, or even anonymous access if enabled, can exploit the alertmanager templates test endpoint by mass-executing templates. This can lead to an Out-Of-Memory (OOM) error, causing the Grafana service to crash and resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS).
A flaw in Grafana's API endpoints allows remote attackers to send excessively large request bodies without authentication. This exhausts server memory, resulting in a complete denial of service (DoS).

An authenticated attacker with Editor access or `alert.instances.external:write` permissions can submit an external Alertmanager alert containing a controlled `generatorURL`. Vulnerabilities whose description is nearest to this one in the vector space of the CIRCL/vulnerability-attack-technique-biencoder model. This is a similarity search over the bi-encoder space (plain cosine), not a classification, and it has no measured accuracy.
