Title
netlink: terminate outstanding dump on socket close
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netlink: terminate outstanding dump on socket close
Netlink supports iterative dumping of data. It provides the families
the following ops:
- start - (optional) kicks off the dumping process
- dump - actual dump helper, keeps getting called until it returns 0
- done - (optional) pairs with .start, can be used for cleanup
The whole process is asynchronous and the repeated calls to .dump
don't actually happen in a tight loop, but rather are triggered
in response to recvmsg() on the socket.
This gives the user full control over the dump, but also means that
the user can close the socket without getting to the end of the dump.
To make sure .start is always paired with .done we check if there
is an ongoing dump before freeing the socket, and if so call .done.
The complication is that sockets can get freed from BH and .done
is allowed to sleep. So we use a workqueue to defer the call, when
needed.
Unfortunately this does not work correctly. What we defer is not
the cleanup but rather releasing a reference on the socket.
We have no guarantee that we own the last reference, if someone
else holds the socket they may release it in BH and we're back
to square one.
The whole dance, however, appears to be unnecessary. Only the user
can interact with dumps, so we can clean up when socket is closed.
And close always happens in process context. Some async code may
still access the socket after close, queue notification skbs to it etc.
but no dumps can start, end or otherwise make progress.
Delete the workqueue and flush the dump state directly from the release
handler. Note that further cleanup is possible in -next, for instance
we now always call .done before releasing the main module reference,
so dump doesn't have to take a reference of its own.

Title
initramfs: avoid filename buffer overrun
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
initramfs: avoid filename buffer overrun
The initramfs filename field is defined in
Documentation/driver-api/early-userspace/buffer-format.rst as:
37 cpio_file := ALGN(4) + cpio_header + filename + "\0" + ALGN(4) + data
...
55 ============= ================== =========================
56 Field name Field size Meaning
57 ============= ================== =========================
...
70 c_namesize 8 bytes Length of filename, including final \0
When extracting an initramfs cpio archive, the kernel's do_name() path
handler assumes a zero-terminated path at @collected, passing it
directly to filp_open() / init_mkdir() / init_mknod().
If a specially crafted cpio entry carries a non-zero-terminated filename
and is followed by uninitialized memory, then a file may be created with
trailing characters that represent the uninitialized memory. The ability
to create an initramfs entry would imply already having full control of
the system, so the buffer overrun shouldn't be considered a security
vulnerability.
Append the output of the following bash script to an existing initramfs
and observe any created /initramfs_test_fname_overrunAA* path. E.g.
./reproducer.sh | gzip >> /myinitramfs
It's easiest to observe non-zero uninitialized memory when the output is
gzipped, as it'll overflow the heap allocated @out_buf in __gunzip(),
rather than the initrd_start+initrd_size block.

termpadlen=$(( 1 + ((4 - ((110 + $namelen) & 3)) % 4) ))
printf "%.s${nilchar}" $(seq 1 $termpadlen)
---- reproducer.sh ----
Symlink filename fields handled in do_symlink() won't overrun past the
data segment, due to the explicit zero-termination of the symlink
target.
Fix filename buffer overrun by aborting the initramfs FSM if any cpio
entry doesn't carry a zero-terminator at the expected (name_len - 1)
offset.

Title
NFSD: Prevent a potential integer overflow
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
NFSD: Prevent a potential integer overflow
If the tag length is >= U32_MAX - 3 then the "length + 4" addition
can result in an integer overflow. Address this by splitting the
decoding into several steps so that decode_cb_compound4res() does
not have to perform arithmetic on the unsafe length value.

A malicious NFS client controls every byte of that reply, either via its v4.1+ backchannel or via the v4.0 callback address it itself supplied in SETCLIENTID.
AC:L - The attacker deterministically sets the tag length field to exactly 0xFFFFFFFC and elicits a callback on demand (async COPY→CB_OFFLOAD, blocking LOCK→CB_NOTIFY_LOCK, or delegation conflict→CB_RECALL); no race and no memory-grooming is required. The attempt can be repeated indefinitely, and each callback re-allocates the reply buffer at a different slab address, sweeping different +4 GiB targets until one faults.
PR:N - In the standard sec=sys deployment NFS performs no cryptographic authentication — the client merely asserts a uid — so any host permitted by the export (commonly a whole subnet, VPC, or a wildcard) reaches this code with no verified credentials. EXCHANGE_ID/CREATE_SESSION require no export access at all, and the vulnerable decode runs before any CB_SEQUENCE session validation.
UI:N - The attacker drives both halves of the exchange itself: it triggers the callback with its own ordinary NFS operations and then sends the malformed reply. No action by an administrator or any other client is needed.
S:U - The out-of-bounds read and the resulting fault are confined to the kernel's own memory and the rpciod worker context, all within a single security authority. No VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.
C:H - The dereference lands roughly 4 GiB away from the slab-allocated receive buffer, reading kernel memory entirely unrelated to the RPC object — this is a wild read, not one strictly bounded to a few bytes past its object. When the target is unmapped the resulting oops dumps registers, kernel addresses, and a stack trace to the log, defeating KASLR.
I:N - The bug is purely a read; the only write is `hdr->nops`, an in-bounds store to a stack-local struct that every caller leaves unused. No kernel structure is corrupted and the attacker gains no write primitive or control-flow influence.
A:H - A 4 GiB displacement into the direct map frequently hits an unmapped hole, faulting on a kernel address inside the rpciod workqueue — a panic under panic_on_oops, otherwise a dead RPC worker that wedges the callback machinery and leaks RPC state. The remote attacker can repeat this at will until it crashes."

Title
comedi: Flush partial mappings in error case
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
comedi: Flush partial mappings in error case
If some remap_pfn_range() calls succeeded before one failed, we still have
buffer pages mapped into the userspace page tables when we drop the buffer
reference with comedi_buf_map_put(bm). The userspace mappings are only
cleaned up later in the mmap error path.
Fix it by explicitly flushing all mappings in our VMA on the error path.
See commit 79a61cc3fc04 ("mm: avoid leaving partial pfn mappings around in
error case").

ALSA: usb-audio: Fix out of bounds reads when finding clock sources
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: usb-audio: Fix out of bounds reads when finding clock sources
The current USB-audio driver code doesn't check bLength of each
descriptor at traversing for clock descriptors. That is, when a
device provides a bogus descriptor with a shorter bLength, the driver
might hit out-of-bounds reads.
For addressing it, this patch adds sanity checks to the validator
functions for the clock descriptor traversal. When the descriptor
length is shorter than expected, it's skipped in the loop.
For the clock source and clock multiplier descriptors, we can just
check bLength against the sizeof() of each descriptor type.
OTOH, the clock selector descriptor of UAC2 and UAC3 has an array
of bNrInPins elements and two more fields at its tail, hence those
have to be checked in addition to the sizeof() check.

OTOH, the clock selector descriptor of UAC2 and UAC3 has an array
of bNrInPins elements and two more fields at its tail, hence those
have to be checked in addition to the sizeof() check."

Title
svcrdma: Address an integer overflow
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
svcrdma: Address an integer overflow
Dan Carpenter reports:
> Commit 78147ca8b4a9 ("svcrdma: Add a "parsed chunk list" data
> structure") from Jun 22, 2020 (linux-next), leads to the following
> Smatch static checker warning:
>
> net/sunrpc/xprtrdma/svc_rdma_recvfrom.c:498 xdr_check_write_chunk()
> warn: potential user controlled sizeof overflow 'segcount * 4 * 4'
>
> net/sunrpc/xprtrdma/svc_rdma_recvfrom.c
> 488 static bool xdr_check_write_chunk(struct svc_rdma_recv_ctxt *rctxt)
> 489 {
> 490 u32 segcount;
> 491 __be32 *p;
> 492
> 493 if (xdr_stream_decode_u32(&rctxt->rc_stream, &segcount))
> ^^^^^^^^
>
> 494 return false;
> 495
> 496 /* A bogus segcount causes this buffer overflow check to fail. */
> 497 p = xdr_inline_decode(&rctxt->rc_stream,
> --> 498 segcount * rpcrdma_segment_maxsz * sizeof(*p));
>
>
> segcount is an untrusted u32. On 32bit systems anything >= SIZE_MAX / 16 will
> have an integer overflow and some those values will be accepted by
> xdr_inline_decode().
AV:N - The flaw is in nfsd's RPC-over-RDMA server transport header parser, driven entirely by bytes a remote peer places in a Send to the NFS/RDMA listener (port 20049). RoCEv2 and iWARP are IP-routable, and soft-RoCE/soft-iWARP make this reachable over ordinary Ethernet, so this is a remote network attack surface.
AC:L - The attacker simply encodes segcount=0x40000000 in a Write chunk or Reply chunk; the 32-bit truncation and the xdr_inline_decode(0) short-circuit are deterministic with no race, no memory-layout dependency, and no timing element. Verified the truncation occurs on 64-bit as well as 32-bit hosts.
PR:N - svc_rdma_xdr_decode_req() runs in svc_rdma_recvfrom() at the transport layer, strictly before svc_process()/svc_authenticate() and before any export or credential check. Any peer able to establish an RDMA-CM connection reaches it with zero credentials.
UI:N - The malformed transport header is processed automatically by the nfsd receive path as soon as it arrives. No action by any local user or administrator is required.
S:U - The bad computation and its consequences are confined to the kernel's own memory management within the same security authority. There is no VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary crossed.
C:N - I traced every consumer of the bogus segcount: the only use is pcl_alloc_chunk(), whose oversized kmalloc fails before pcl_alloc_write() can dereference its unchecked raw pointer, so no out-of-bounds data is read. The failed decode returns only a generic RDMA_ERROR reply, disclosing nothing.
I:N - The bounds-check bypass never reaches the unbounded ch_segments[] write loop in pcl_alloc_write(), because chunk allocation aborts first and the request is rejected with -EINVAL. No kernel memory is modified and no attacker-controlled data is written out of bounds.
A:H - The bypassed check drives a multi-gigabyte kmalloc whose order exceeds MAX_PAGE_ORDER, tripping WARN_ON_ONCE_GFP() in __alloc_pages() with a stack trace and kernel taint; on the widely deployed panic_on_warn=1 configurations this is an immediate kernel panic triggered by an unauthenticated remote peer."

Since an instance of 'struct kiocb' may be passed from the block layer
with 'private' field uninitialized, introduce 'ocfs2_iocb_init_rw_locked()'
and use it from where 'ocfs2_dio_end_io()' might take care, i.e. in
'ocfs2_file_read_iter()' and 'ocfs2_file_write_iter()'.

Title
wifi: ath9k: add range check for conn_rsp_epid in htc_connect_service()
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: ath9k: add range check for conn_rsp_epid in htc_connect_service()
I found the following bug in my fuzzer:
UBSAN: array-index-out-of-bounds in drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath9k/htc_hst.c:26:51
index 255 is out of range for type 'htc_endpoint [22]'
CPU: 0 UID: 0 PID: 8 Comm: kworker/0:0 Not tainted 6.11.0-rc6-dirty #14
Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS 1.15.0-1 04/01/2014
Workqueue: events request_firmware_work_func
Call Trace:
<TASK>

? _raw_spin_unlock_irqrestore+0x3c/0x70

? mark_held_locks+0x9f/0xe0

Since this bug has been confirmed to be caused by insufficient verification
of conn_rsp_epid, I think it would be appropriate to add a range check for
conn_rsp_epid to htc_connect_service() to prevent the bug from occurring.
