    CVE-2026-84365 (GCVE-0-2026-84365)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-09-01 20:26 – Updated: 2026-09-04 02:09

    Title
Hono: Incomplete fix for CVE-2026-39408: `toSSG()` still writes files outside the output directory
    Summary
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. From 4.12.12 until 4.13.5, the fix released for CVE-2026-39408 does not cover every traversal sequence, and toSSG() can still write files outside the configured output directory when a route parameter contains consecutive parent-directory segments. Static site generation builds each output path from the route path and values supplied through ssgParams, then verifies that the result stays inside the output directory using the same normalization routine that built the path. That routine does not fully collapse runs of consecutive parent-directory segments, allowing a path that the check accepts to resolve outside the output directory, and the check also treats output directories that differ in how they are rooted as equivalent. This arises when an application generates a static site from route parameter values it does not fully control, such as slugs from a CMS, API, or user submission. An untrusted ssgParams value can create or overwrite files elsewhere in the build environment and alter generated artifacts or deployment output. The vulnerability affects build-time static site generation only; request-time routing and applications with entirely developer-controlled ssgParams values are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 4.13.5.

    Title
Hono: Unbounded dot-notation nesting in `parseBody()` can cause memory exhaustion
    Summary
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. Prior to 4.13.5, when parseBody() expands dot-separated form field names into nested objects with dot-notation parsing enabled, it does not limit the nesting depth or the total number of intermediate objects created. Empty segments are preserved, so one deeply dotted field name can encode one nesting level per byte, while a large number of shallowly dotted fields can create the same amplification across a request. A request body within a normal size limit can therefore allocate an object graph far larger than the request after the body has already been accepted. An unauthenticated attacker who can reach an affected endpoint can send concurrent requests that exhaust the JavaScript heap, terminate the server process, and leave the service unavailable until restart. Dot-notation parsing is not enabled by default, and applications using the default behavior are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 4.13.5.

    Title
Hono: Query parser reads parameters after the URL fragment, causing cache-key and proxy interpretation differentials
    Summary
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. Prior to 4.13.5, Hono's query helpers treat a question mark after a literal hash fragment as the start of a query string, so the application can read request parameters that browsers, new URL(), reverse proxies, filtering rules, parameter allow and deny lists, access logging, request validation, and other middleware do not observe. The Cache Middleware removes the fragment when building its cache key, allowing a response influenced by parameters inside the fragment to be stored under a key that omits those parameters and later served to other users. This can bypass filtering and auditing, poison cached responses, and enable stored cross-site scripting when an affected parameter is reflected into cached HTML without escaping. Exploitation requires a runtime and intermediary path that passes a literal hash character through to the request URL; Cloudflare Workers and intermediaries that strip fragments are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 4.13.5.

Prior to 4.13.5, Hono\u0027s query helpers treat a question mark after a literal hash fragment as the start of a query string, so the application can read request parameters that browsers, new URL(), reverse proxies, filtering rules, parameter allow and deny lists, access logging, request validation, and other middleware do not observe. This issue is fixed in version 4.13.5."

    CVE-2026-81888 (GCVE-0-2026-81888)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-08-31 20:27 – Updated: 2026-09-01 14:59

    Title
@hono/oauth-providers: OAuth state check fails open on omitted state, enabling login CSRF and forced account linking
    Summary
@hono/oauth-providers is Authentication middleware for Hono. Prior to version 0.8.6, the built-in social login providers accept an OAuth callback even when the `state` value is absent on both sides, so the anti-CSRF check passes for a callback that never came from a genuine login attempt. This defeats the `state`-based CSRF protection under default usage. Version 0.8.6 has a patch.

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-08-13 17:37 – Updated: 2026-08-14 16:45

    Title
@hono/node-server: Unauthenticated memory-leak DoS via aborted WebSocket handshake
    Summary
@hono/node-server allows running the Hono application on Node.js. From 2.0.0 until 2.0.10, a WebSocket upgrade request to an upgradeWebSocket route with a missing or malformed Sec-WebSocket-Key header causes src/websocket.ts to retain the request's IncomingMessage in waiterMap and leave waitForWebSocket pending because ws.handleUpgrade emits no connection event. The aborted handshake therefore has no cleanup path, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to flood a public route, cause unbounded memory growth, and eventually make the service unavailable. This issue is fixed in version 2.0.10.

    CVE-2026-69207 (GCVE-0-2026-69207)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-08-07 20:51 – Updated: 2026-08-10 13:33

    Title
Hono: ReDoS in CORS middleware via Access-Control-Request-Headers
    Summary
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. Prior to 4.12.34, the built-in CORS middleware, hono/cors, is vulnerable to a regular expression denial of service (ReDoS). During a preflight OPTIONS request, the middleware parses the attacker-controlled Access-Control-Request-Headers header using a whitespace-tolerant regular expression whose backtracking makes its running time quadratic in the input length. Because the header value is bounded only by the deployment's maximum HTTP header size, a single preflight carrying a long run of whitespace can consume seconds of CPU and block request processing. On runtimes that share one execution thread across requests, this stalls concurrent requests as well, and repeated requests can render the service unresponsive. This affects the default configuration, since the vulnerable path is reached whenever cors() is used with an unset or empty allowHeaders. Applications that set a non-empty allowHeaders are not affected. This issue is fixed in version 4.12.34.

    CVE-2026-71850 (GCVE-0-2026-71850)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-08-07 18:41 – Updated: 2026-08-10 13:26

    Title
Hono: `memo()` retains SSR output across requests, leading to cross-user data disclosure
    Summary
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. From 3.8.0 to 4.12.33, memo() from hono/jsx retains the result of a server side render and reuses it for later renders with comparator equal props, and request scoped values read inside the component take no part in that comparison, so a response can contain HTML rendered for another user's request. Components wrapped with memo() are compared by props alone; values read implicitly during rendering, such as JSX Context through createContext() and useContext(), useRequestContext() from hono/jsx-renderer, and getContext() from hono/context-storage, do not participate, and the retained result lives as long as the wrapped component, so it outlives the request that produced it. A user may receive a response containing HTML rendered for another user when both render the same memoized component with comparator equal props on the same warm instance, which may disclose another user's account or profile data, disclose request scoped secrets embedded in HTML such as CSRF tokens, or expose role specific content to users who should not receive it. This issue is fixed in version 4.12.34.

From 3.8.0 to 4.12.33, memo() from hono/jsx retains the result of a server side render and reuses it for later renders with comparator equal props, and request scoped values read inside the component take no part in that comparison, so a response can contain HTML rendered for another user\u0027s request. A user may receive a response containing HTML rendered for another user when both render the same memoized component with comparator equal props on the same warm instance, which may disclose another user\u0027s account or profile data, disclose request scoped secrets embedded in HTML such as CSRF tokens, or expose role specific content to users who should not receive it. Title
Hono: Proxy Helper does not remove response headers listed in the `Connection` header
    Summary
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. From 4.7.0 to 4.12.33, the Proxy Helper proxy() function in hono/proxy does not remove response headers named by the origin's Connection header. Per RFC 9110 Section 7.6.1, an intermediary must remove the header fields listed in a message's Connection header field before forwarding the message, in addition to the well known hop by hop headers, but the proxy() function only removed the well known hop by hop headers, including Connection itself, from origin responses. A client may therefore receive response headers that the origin intended only for its immediate peer, disclosing connection scoped or internal metadata contained in such headers, when an application proxies responses from an origin that declares additional, non standard headers as hop by hop via the Connection response header. This issue is fixed in version 4.12.34.

    Title
Hono: Algorithmic Complexity DoS in Language Middleware
    Summary
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. From 4.12.0 to 4.12.33, the languageDetector middleware is vulnerable to algorithmic complexity denial of service when processing a crafted language tag containing a large number of hyphen separated subtags. To implement progressive language tag truncation, normalizeLanguage() repeatedly calls parts.slice(0, i).join('-') for every possible prefix, so the total amount of string processing grows quadratically with the number of subtags. Language values may come from a query parameter, cookie, Accept-Language header, or URL path, depending on the detector configuration, and the default detector order enables query string, cookie, and header detection, so applications using languageDetector() may expose this processing to unauthenticated requests. An attacker may repeatedly send requests containing long, hyphen separated language tags, causing excessive CPU consumption and preventing unrelated requests from being processed. This issue is fixed in version 4.12.34.

    CVE-2026-59897 (GCVE-0-2026-59897)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-07-08 16:06 – Updated: 2026-07-09 13:51
    VLAI
    Title
Hono: API Gateway v1 adapter can drop a distinct repeated request header value during de-duplication
    Summary
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. From 4.3.3 before 4.12.27, the AWS API Gateway v1 adapter can drop a distinct repeated request header value because it de-duplicates values using a substring comparison instead of an exact match, so middleware or application logic that depends on the complete X-Forwarded-For chain, rate limiting, audit logging, or proxy-chain validation can receive incomplete data. This issue is fixed in version 4.12.27.

    Title
hono/jsx does not isolate context per request, leading to cross-request data disclosure
    Summary
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. From 4.11.8 before 4.12.27, hono/jsx did not isolate context values per request during server-side rendering, allowing createContext, useContext, jsxRenderer, or useRequestContext data from a different in-flight request to be used after an await in an async component. This issue is fixed in version 4.12.27.

    Title
Hono: Server-Side XSS via JSX Escaping Bypass in cx() Utility
    Summary
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. From 4.0.0 before 4.12.27, cx() in hono/css composes class names from plain strings but marks the result as already escaped without HTML-escaping the input, allowing untrusted className values used in a JSX class attribute during server-side rendering to break out of the attribute and inject arbitrary markup. This issue is fixed in version 4.12.27.

    Title
Hono: Body Limit Middleware can be bypassed on AWS Lambda by understating `Content-Length`
    Summary
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. Prior to 4.12.25, the Body Limit Middleware trusts the request's Content-Length header to decide whether a body is within the limit. On AWS Lambda (API Gateway v1/v2, ALB, VPC Lattice, and Lambda@Edge) the body is delivered fully buffered and the adapter builds the request with the client-declared Content-Length, which need not match the actual payload. A client can declare a tiny Content-Length while sending a much larger body, slipping past the limit. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.12.25.

    Title
Hono: CORS Middleware reflects any Origin with credentials when `origin` defaults to the wildcard
    Summary
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. Prior to 4.12.25, with credentials: true and no explicit origin (the default wildcard), the CORS Middleware reflects the request's Origin and sends Access-Control-Allow-Credentials: true. Any site can then make credentialed cross-origin requests and read the responses, exposing cookie-authenticated endpoints to arbitrary origins. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.12.25.

    CVE-2026-54289 (GCVE-0-2026-54289)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-06-22 17:16 – Updated: 2026-06-22 18:19
    VLAI
    Title
Hono: Lambda@Edge adapter keeps only the last value of a repeated request header, dropping the rest
    Summary
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. Prior to 4.12.25, on AWS Lambda@Edge, CloudFront delivers a request header that appears more than once as several separate entries. The adapter writes each value with Headers.set instead of Headers.append, so every value overwrites the previous one and only the last reaches the application. Repeated request headers such as X-Forwarded-For, Forwarded, and Via are silently truncated to a single value. Request middleware sees only the last value of a repeated header instead of the full chain. For applications that base access control on the X-Forwarded-For chain, this can weaken or alter that decision; for auditing, hop history is lost. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.12.25.

    CVE-2026-54287 (GCVE-0-2026-54287)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-06-22 17:13 – Updated: 2026-06-22 17:36
    VLAI
    Title
Hono: AWS Lambda adapter merges multiple `Set-Cookie` headers into one value, dropping cookies on ALB single-header and Lattice
    Summary
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. Prior to 4.12.25, on AWS Lambda, the ALB single-header response and the VPC Lattice v2 response join multiple Set-Cookie headers into one comma-separated value. Because commas also appear inside cookie attributes (for example Expires dates), clients cannot split the value back into individual cookies and silently drop or misparse them. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.12.25.

    CVE-2026-54286 (GCVE-0-2026-54286)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-06-22 17:14 – Updated: 2026-06-23 14:07
    VLAI
    Title
Hono: Path traversal in `serve-static` on Windows via encoded backslash (`%5C`)
    Summary
Hono is a Web application framework that provides support for any JavaScript runtime. Prior to 4.12.25, on Windows hosts, an encoded backslash (%5C) in the request path decodes to \, which the Windows path resolver treats as a separator. serve-static then resolves a single URL segment such as admin\secret.txt into a nested file under the root and serves it, letting an attacker read static files meant to be protected behind prefix-mounted middleware. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.12.25.

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-09-01 20:26 – Updated: 2026-09-04 02:09
    VLAI

Because the header value is bounded only by the deployment\u0027s maximum HTTP header size, a single preflight carrying a long run of whitespace can consume seconds of CPU and block request processing. This issue is fixed in version 4.12.34."

From 4.7.0 to 4.12.33, the Proxy Helper proxy() function in hono/proxy does not remove response headers named by the origin\u0027s Connection header. Per RFC 9110 Section 7.6.1, an intermediary must remove the header fields listed in a message\u0027s Connection header field before forwarding the message, in addition to the well known hop by hop headers, but the proxy() function only removed the well known hop by hop headers, including Connection itself, from origin responses. A client may therefore receive response headers that the origin intended only for its immediate peer, disclosing connection scoped or internal metadata contained in such headers, when an application proxies responses from an origin that declares additional, non standard headers as hop by hop via the Connection response header. This issue is fixed in version 4.12.34."

    Title
hono/jsx does not isolate context per request, leading to cross-request data disclosure

    CVE-2026-54288 (GCVE-0-2026-54288)

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-06-22 17:18 – Updated: 2026-06-23 16:11
    VLAI
