Vulnerability from csaf_certbund - Published: 2024-11-26 23:00 - Updated: 2024-11-26 23:00In Arista EOS besteht eine Schwachstelle, die auf eine unzureichende Granularität der Zugriffskontrollmechanismen zurückzuführen ist. Dieser Fehler ermöglicht es bestimmten IPv4-Paketen mit bestimmten IP-Optionen, konfigurierte Verkehrsumleitungsaktionen zu umgehen, wie z. B. Policy-Based Routing (PBR), BGP Flowspec oder Schnittstellenverkehrsrichtlinien. Anstatt an das vorgesehene Next-Hop-Ziel geleitet zu werden, werden diese Pakete über den langsamen Pfad des Kernels verarbeitet. Ein entfernter, anonymer Angreifer kann diese Schwachstelle ausnutzen, um einen Denial-of-Service-Zustand zu erzeugen, indem er die CPU des Systems überlastet.
