Vulnerability from csaf_siemens - Published: 2026-10-13 00:00 - Updated: 2026-10-13 00:00
Summary
SSA-159454: Hard-coded Key Vulnerability in SIMATIC IPCs
Notes
Summary: The products listed below contain a vulnerability that could allow an attacker to boot an operating system or UEFI application signed with that test key, bypassing UEFI Secure Boot protections even when Secure Boot is enabled. Siemens has released new versions for the affected products and recommends to update to the latest versions.
General Recommendations: As a general security measure, Siemens strongly recommends to protect network access to devices with appropriate mechanisms. In order to operate the devices in a protected IT environment, Siemens recommends to configure the environment according to Siemens' operational guidelines for Industrial Security (Download: https://www.siemens.com/cert/operational-guidelines-industrial-security), and to follow the recommendations in the product manuals. Additional information on Industrial Security by Siemens can be found at: https://www.siemens.com/industrialsecurity
Additional Resources: For further inquiries on security vulnerabilities in Siemens products and solutions, please contact the Siemens ProductCERT: https://www.siemens.com/cert/advisories
Terms of Use: The use of Siemens Security Advisories is subject to the terms and conditions listed on: https://www.siemens.com/productcert/terms-of-use.

A BIOS vendor test key is present in the UEFI Secure Boot key database. This could allow a local attacker with physical or administrative access to the device to boot an operating system or UEFI application signed with that test key, bypassing UEFI Secure Boot protections even when Secure Boot is enabled, potentially leading to a full loss of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the device.

Drag nodes to arrange them. Double-click a related vulnerability to open it, or a source to visit its link. The Physics button on the left tunes the layout and the simulation; the legend at the bottom left hides or shows nodes by kind and by sighting type.

Forecast uses a logistic model when the trend is rising, or an exponential decay model when the trend is falling. Fitted via linearized least squares.
