Vulnerability from osv_openeuler
The Linux Kernel, the operating system core itself.
Security Fix(es):
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: x86/mmu: Treat NX as a valid SPTE bit for NPT
Treat the NX bit as valid when using NPT, as KVM will set the NX bit when the NX huge page mitigation is enabled (mindblowing) and trigger the WARN that fires on reserved SPTE bits being set.
KVM has required NX support for SVM since commit b26a71a1a5b9 ("KVM: SVM: Refuse to load kvm_amd if NX support is not available") for exactly this reason, but apparently it never occurred to anyone to actually test NPT with the mitigation enabled.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: uvcvideo: Remove dangling pointers
When an async control is written, we copy a pointer to the file handle that started the operation. That pointer will be used when the device is done. Which could be anytime in the future.
If the user closes that file descriptor, its structure will be freed, and there will be one dangling pointer per pending async control, that the driver will try to use.
Clean all the dangling pointers during release().
To avoid adding a performance penalty in the most common case (no async operation), a counter has been introduced with some logic to make sure that it is properly handled.(CVE-2024-58002)
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ibmvnic: Don't reference skb after sending to VIOS
Previously, after successfully flushing the xmit buffer to VIOS, the tx_bytes stat was incremented by the length of the skb.
It is invalid to access the skb memory after sending the buffer to the VIOS because, at any point after sending, the VIOS can trigger an interrupt to free this memory. A race between reading skb->len and freeing the skb is possible (especially during LPM) and will result in use-after-free: ================================================================== BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in ibmvnic_xmit+0x75c/0x1808 [ibmvnic] Read of size 4 at addr c00000024eb48a70 by task hxecom/14495 <...> Call Trace: [c000000118f66cf0] [c0000000018cba6c] dump_stack_lvl+0x84/0xe8 (unreliable) [c000000118f66d20] [c0000000006f0080] print_report+0x1a8/0x7f0 [c000000118f66df0] [c0000000006f08f0] kasan_report+0x128/0x1f8 [c000000118f66f00] [c0000000006f2868] __asan_load4+0xac/0xe0 [c000000118f66f20] [c0080000046eac84] ibmvnic_xmit+0x75c/0x1808 [ibmvnic] [c000000118f67340] [c0000000014be168] dev_hard_start_xmit+0x150/0x358 <...> Freed by task 0: kasan_save_stack+0x34/0x68 kasan_save_track+0x2c/0x50 kasan_save_free_info+0x64/0x108 __kasan_mempool_poison_object+0x148/0x2d4 napi_skb_cache_put+0x5c/0x194 net_tx_action+0x154/0x5b8 handle_softirqs+0x20c/0x60c do_softirq_own_stack+0x6c/0x88 <...> The buggy address belongs to the object at c00000024eb48a00 which belongs to the cache skbuff_head_cache of size 224 ==================================================================(CVE-2025-21855)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
media: cxusb: no longer judge rbuf when the write fails
syzbot reported a uninit-value in cxusb_i2c_xfer. [1]
Only when the write operation of usb_bulk_msg() in dvb_usb_generic_rw() succeeds and rlen is greater than 0, the read operation of usb_bulk_msg() will be executed to read rlen bytes of data from the dvb device into the rbuf.
In this case, although rlen is 1, the write operation failed which resulted in the dvb read operation not being executed, and ultimately variable i was not initialized.

That pointer will be used when the device is
done. Which could be anytime in the future.

If the user closes that file descriptor, its structure will be freed,
and there will be one dangling pointer per pending async control, that
the driver will try to use.

Clean all the dangling pointers during release().

To avoid adding a performance penalty in the most common case (no async
operation), a counter has been introduced with some logic to make sure
that it is properly handled.
AV:L - The vulnerability is reached entirely through local syscalls on the video character device — VIDIOC_S_EXT_CTRLS followed by close() on /dev/videoN. No physical access or device insertion is needed since the camera is already attached and its normal async-control interrupt drives the use of the stale pointer.
AC:L - The attacker controls both halves: they choose when to set the asynchronous control and when to close the fd, and can spray the generic kmalloc slab to reclaim the freed uvc_fh before the status event fires. The use can even be forced synchronously in the same close() via uvc_status_put()->uvc_status_stop()->cancel_work_sync(), and the whole sequence is freely repeatable.
PR:L - Only read/write access to /dev/videoN is required — no capability check exists anywhere on the uvc_ctrl_set/commit path. That access is granted to the ordinary logged-in user via logind ACLs or the video group, and to unprivileged camera services on Android/ChromeOS.
UI:N - The attacker performs every step themselves — open, set async control, close — with no victim action required. The control-change interrupt that consumes the dangling pointer is autonomous device behaviour.
S:U - The freed object and the code that uses it are both kernel-resident in the uvcvideo driver; no VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed. This is a standard same-authority kernel memory-safety defect.
C:H - A pointer to a freed uvc_fh persists in device-scoped uvc_control state and is reclaimable at will from unprivileged userspace, so the driver operates on an attacker- or victim-controlled aliased slab object treated as a struct v4l2_fh. Consistent with use-after-free scoring, this yields high confidentiality impact through control over freed-object contents and leakage of another handle's control-event stream.
I:H - The stale pointer is the identity token gating event routing, so reclaiming the slot lets an attacker corrupt which file handles receive control-change notifications and type-confuse the reallocated object. Use-after-free conditions of this kind are scored as enabling heap-spray-based write primitives and control-flow corruption.
A:H - One dangling pointer is left per pending async control in long-lived per-device structures, and the driver subsequently consumes it — a use-after-free that can crash or destabilize the kernel, and which the attacker can re-arm indefinitely by looping open/set/close.
AV:N - `ibmvnic_xmit()` is the `ndo_start_xmit` handler executed for every frame the LPAR transmits, so an unauthenticated remote attacker reaches it simply by sending traffic that elicits kernel replies (TCP handshakes, ICMP echo, ARP) at arbitrary rate. This matches the CNA's AV:N scoring of the identical `lec_send()` skb-after-send UAF (CVE-2025-22004).
AC:L - Every transmitted packet is an independent attempt at the window between the `H_SEND_SUB_CRQ` hcall and the `skb->len` read, and the attacker fully controls transmit volume; heavy TX load maximizes concurrent VIOS completion interrupts, which run `ibmvnic_complete_tx()` in hardirq context on another CPU. The race is hit in practice under ordinary stress workloads, requiring no condition the attacker cannot influence.
PR:N - There is no capability, credential, or namespace check anywhere between packet ingress and `ibmvnic_xmit()`; remote traffic that provokes a kernel-generated response is sufficient. Locally, any unprivileged socket write also reaches the same path.
UI:N - The TX path is driven entirely by network traffic or the attacker's own socket writes, with no victim action required.
S:U - The stale read and its consequences are confined to the LPAR's own kernel memory and statistics; the VIOS/hypervisor security boundary is not crossed.
C:L - Four bytes of freed `skbuff_head_cache` memory are accumulated into `netdev->stats.tx_bytes` and `adapter->tx_stats_buffers[q].bytes`, both readable by unprivileged userspace via `/proc/net/dev` and `ethtool -S`, giving a genuine leak of freed kernel slab contents. The read is strictly bounded to one 32-bit field at a fixed offset and is never used as a pointer or length, so it yields no arbitrary-read primitive.
I:L - Kernel-maintained interface statistics consumed by userspace monitoring, accounting, and billing tooling are corrupted with values the attacker does not choose. There is no write to freed memory and no path to control-flow hijacking or arbitrary write.
A:H - This is a use-after-free read in the hot TX path: on KASAN/debug kernels it produces the reported slab-use-after-free splat and panics under `panic_on_warn`, and if the freed skbuff slab page has been returned to the buddy allocator the load can fault (DEBUG_PAGEALLOC/KFENCE guard pages on ppc64), oopsing in softirq context. Per kernel scoring guidance any use-after-free is treated as A:H."

If it is
not protected by RCU read-critical region, when idr_for_each() calls
radix_tree_node_free() through call_rcu() to free the radix_tree_node
structure, the node will be freed immediately, and when reading the next
node in radix_tree_for_each_slot(), the already freed memory may be read.

Therefore, we need to add code to make sure that idr_for_each() is
protected within the RCU read-critical region when we call it in
shm_destroy_orphaned().
AV:L - The vulnerable code is reached only through a local write to the /proc/sys/kernel/shm_rmid_forced sysctl plus SysV shmget() syscalls; there is no remote or network-facing entry point into shm_destroy_orphaned().
AC:L - The attacker controls both sides of the window — the number of orphaned segments (making the unprotected idr_for_each() walk long and forcing it to sleep in shmem_lock()/fput()/cond_resched(), which is a quiescent state that lets the call_rcu() node free complete) and the concurrent slab spray that reoccupies the freed radix_tree_node; syzbot reproduced it, so no condition lies outside attacker influence.
PR:L - The shm_rmid_forced sysctl is mode 0644 owned by make_kuid(ns->user_ns, 0), so an unprivileged user who does unshare(CLONE_NEWUSER|CLONE_NEWIPC) becomes the owner and can write it in their own IPC namespace; no real root or capability in the init namespace is needed.
UI:N - The attacker performs every step itself (namespace creation, shmget/fork/exit, sysctl write); no victim action or cooperation is involved.
S:U - The use-after-free corrupts kernel slab memory and is exploited within the same kernel security authority; no VM, IOMMU, or hypervisor boundary is crossed.
C:H - The freed radix_tree_node is read after reuse and its slot contents are propagated as a kernel pointer that is dereferenced, and since the node cache is shared with page-cache xa_nodes the attacker can leverage the stale reads to disclose arbitrary kernel memory and defeat KASLR.
I:H - The stale slot value is container_of()'d into a shmid_kernel and then written through — spin_lock() on shm_perm.lock, shp->shm_file = NULL, refcount decrement and fput() on an attacker-influenced pointer — giving type confusion with write and arbitrary-free primitives suitable for privilege escalation.
A:H - The slab-use-after-free read of a freed radix_tree_node reliably produces a KASAN splat, oops, or panic from wild-pointer dereference in the ipc teardown path, crashing the kernel."

The ftrace_disable is set when an anomaly is
discovered and to prevent any more damage, ftrace stops all text
modification. The issue that happened was that the ftrace_disable stops
more than just the text modification.

When a module is loaded, its init functions can also be traced. Because
kallsyms deletes the init functions after a module has loaded, ftrace
saves them when the module is loaded and function tracing is enabled. This
allows the output of the function trace to show the init function names
instead of just their raw memory addresses.

When a module is removed, ftrace_release_mod() is called, and if
ftrace_disable is set, it just returns without doing anything more. The
problem here is that it leaves the mod_list still around and if kallsyms
is called, it will call into this code and access the module memory that
has already been freed as it will return:

strscpy(module_name, mod_map->mod->name, MODULE_NAME_LEN);

Where the "mod" no longer exists and triggers a UAF bug.
AV:L - The dangling dereference is reached through a `read(2)` on the local `/proc/kallsyms` file, and the state is established by local module load/unload; no network or remote-peer data reaches `ftrace_mod_get_kallsym()`.
AC:L - Scoring the vulnerable configuration (a tracer registered when the module's init text was freed, `ftrace_disabled` latched by an ftrace anomaly, module then unloaded), the stale `ftrace_mod_map` persists indefinitely and the dereference is fully deterministic — no race, no memory-layout luck, and every subsequent `/proc/kallsyms` read re-triggers it at will.
PR:L - `/proc/kallsyms` is created mode 0444 and the module-name column is emitted regardless of `kptr_restrict`, so any unprivileged local user reaches `strscpy(module_name, mod_map->mod->name, ...)` with a plain `cat`, exactly as in the reported oops from `ksys_read`.
UI:N - The attacker's own read of `/proc/kallsyms` performs the dereference; no separate victim has to open a file, mount anything, or take any action.
S:U - Both the freed module memory and the faulting code are kernel-internal, within the same security authority the attacker is already attacking; no VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.
C:H - `strscpy()` reads from `mod_map->mod->name` inside the freed module allocation and the result is printed straight to userspace, so once the execmem/vmalloc range is reclaimed the attacker harvests reclaimed kernel memory; `ftrace_mod_address_lookup()` also returns that dangling pointer to `kallsyms_lookup()`/`sprint_symbol()`, which copy it with no length bound and can over-read well past the object.
I:H - A stale `struct module *` is dereferenced after its backing allocation has been returned to the module/vmalloc allocator, so reclaiming that allocation makes the kernel interpret attacker-influenced content as live module metadata — the standard use-after-free corruption primitive.
A:H - In the common case the module range is unmapped and the access faults on a non-present kernel address, oopsing in `sized_strscpy()` as in the reported trace; because the leaked `mod_map` is never freed, any unprivileged user can panic the machine repeatedly."
