Title
Gallery Custom Links <= 2.3.3 - Authenticated (Subscriber+) Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Comment Author Display Name + Comment HTML Comment Body
Summary
The Gallery Custom Links plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'display_name (profile.php) + comment (wp-comments-post.php)' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 2.3.3 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The exploit requires two coordinated inputs from the same authenticated attacker: an HTML comment payload stored in a comment body (preserved verbatim by WordPress comment kses) and a matching simple_html_dom noise key placed in the attacker's display_name (which survives esc_attr() intact), with substitution occurring after both filters have run during the plugin's default-on output-buffering pass over the full rendered page.

This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The exploit requires two coordinated inputs from the same authenticated attacker: an HTML comment payload stored in a comment body (preserved verbatim by WordPress comment kses) and a matching simple_html_dom noise key placed in the attacker\u0027s display_name (which survives esc_attr() intact), with substitution occurring after both filters have run during the plugin\u0027s default-on output-buffering pass over the full rendered page."

Drag nodes to arrange them. Double-click a related vulnerability to open it, or a source to visit its link. The Physics button on the left tunes the layout and the simulation; the legend at the bottom left hides or shows nodes by kind and by sighting type.

Forecast uses a logistic model when the trend is rising, or an exponential decay model when the trend is falling. Fitted via linearized least squares.

    Related by attack behaviour

Vulnerabilities whose description is nearest to this one in the vector space of the CIRCL/vulnerability-attack-technique-biencoder model. This is a similarity search over the bi-encoder space (plain cosine), not a classification, and it has no measured accuracy.
