Title
vhost-scsi: Fix handling of multiple calls to vhost_scsi_set_endpoint
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
vhost-scsi: Fix handling of multiple calls to vhost_scsi_set_endpoint
If vhost_scsi_set_endpoint is called multiple times without a
vhost_scsi_clear_endpoint between them, we can hit multiple bugs
found by Haoran Zhang:
1. Use-after-free when no tpgs are found:
This fixes a use after free that occurs when vhost_scsi_set_endpoint is
called more than once and calls after the first call do not find any
tpgs to add to the vs_tpg. When vhost_scsi_set_endpoint first finds
tpgs to add to the vs_tpg array match=true, so we will do:
vhost_vq_set_backend(vq, vs_tpg);
...
kfree(vs->vs_tpg);
vs->vs_tpg = vs_tpg;
If vhost_scsi_set_endpoint is called again and no tpgs are found
match=false so we skip the vhost_vq_set_backend call leaving the
pointer to the vs_tpg we then free via:
kfree(vs->vs_tpg);
vs->vs_tpg = vs_tpg;
If a scsi request is then sent we do:
vhost_scsi_handle_vq -> vhost_scsi_get_req -> vhost_vq_get_backend
which sees the vs_tpg we just did a kfree on.
2. Tpg dir removal hang:
This patch fixes an issue where we cannot remove a LIO/target layer
tpg (and structs above it like the target) dir due to the refcount
dropping to -1.
The problem is that if vhost_scsi_set_endpoint detects a tpg is already
in the vs->vs_tpg array or if the tpg has been removed so
target_depend_item fails, the undepend goto handler will do
target_undepend_item on all tpgs in the vs_tpg array dropping their
refcount to 0. At this time vs_tpg contains both the tpgs we have added
in the current vhost_scsi_set_endpoint call as well as tpgs we added in
previous calls which are also in vs->vs_tpg.
Later, when vhost_scsi_clear_endpoint runs it will do
target_undepend_item on all the tpgs in the vs->vs_tpg which will drop
their refcount to -1. Userspace will then not be able to remove the tpg
and will hang when it tries to do rmdir on the tpg dir.
3. Tpg leak:
This fixes a bug where we can leak tpgs and cause them to be
un-removable because the target name is overwritten when
vhost_scsi_set_endpoint is called multiple times but with different
target names.
The bug occurs if a user has called VHOST_SCSI_SET_ENDPOINT and setup
a vhost-scsi device to target/tpg mapping, then calls
VHOST_SCSI_SET_ENDPOINT again with a new target name that has tpgs we
haven't seen before (target1 has tpg1 but target2 has tpg2). When this
happens we don't teardown the old target tpg mapping and just overwrite
the target name and the vs->vs_tpg array. Later when we do
vhost_scsi_clear_endpoint, we are passed in either target1 or target2's
name and we will only match that target's tpgs when we loop over the
vs->vs_tpg. We will then return from the function without doing
target_undepend_item on the tpgs.
Because of all these bugs, it looks like being able to call
vhost_scsi_set_endpoint multiple times was never supported. The major
user, QEMU, already has checks to prevent this use case. So to fix the
issues, this patch prevents vhost_scsi_set_endpoint from being called
if it's already successfully added tpgs. To add, remove or change the
tpg config or target name, you must do a vhost_scsi_clear_endpoint
first.

When vhost_scsi_set_endpoint first finds
tpgs to add to the vs_tpg array match=true, so we will do:

vhost_vq_set_backend(vq, vs_tpg);
...

kfree(vs->vs_tpg);
vs->vs_tpg = vs_tpg;

If vhost_scsi_set_endpoint is called again and no tpgs are found
match=false so we skip the vhost_vq_set_backend call leaving the
pointer to the vs_tpg we then free via:

kfree(vs->vs_tpg);
vs->vs_tpg = vs_tpg;

If a scsi request is then sent we do:

vhost_scsi_handle_vq -> vhost_scsi_get_req -> vhost_vq_get_backend

which sees the vs_tpg we just did a kfree on.

To add, remove or change the
tpg config or target name, you must do a vhost_scsi_clear_endpoint
first."

Per UAF guidance the attacker controls the contents of the reclaimed slab object, enabling arbitrary read.
I:H - Reclaiming the freed kmalloc-2k object yields a fully attacker-controlled `struct vhost_scsi_tpg *` that is dereferenced and whose `tpg_nexus->tvn_se_sess` is passed into `target_init_cmd()`/`target_submit_tmr()`, a classic fake-object path to arbitrary write and control-flow hijack. The configfs `config_item` refcount underflow to −1 additionally corrupts target-core object lifetime state.
A:H - The dangling backend reliably produces a kernel oops/panic on the next SCSI request even without successful exploitation. Title
x86/mm/pat: Fix VM_PAT handling when fork() fails in copy_page_range()
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
x86/mm/pat: Fix VM_PAT handling when fork() fails in copy_page_range()
If track_pfn_copy() fails, we already added the dst VMA to the maple
tree. As fork() fails, we'll cleanup the maple tree, and stumble over
the dst VMA for which we neither performed any reservation nor copied
any page tables.
Consequently untrack_pfn() will see VM_PAT and try obtaining the
PAT information from the page table -- which fails because the page
table was not copied.
The easiest fix would be to simply clear the VM_PAT flag of the dst VMA
if track_pfn_copy() fails. However, the whole thing is about "simply"
clearing the VM_PAT flag is shaky as well: if we passed track_pfn_copy()
and performed a reservation, but copying the page tables fails, we'll
simply clear the VM_PAT flag, not properly undoing the reservation ...
which is also wrong.
So let's fix it properly: set the VM_PAT flag only if the reservation
succeeded (leaving it clear initially), and undo the reservation if
anything goes wrong while copying the page tables: clearing the VM_PAT
flag after undoing the reservation.
Note that any copied page table entries will get zapped when the VMA will
get removed later, after copy_page_range() succeeded; as VM_PAT is not set
then, we won't try cleaning VM_PAT up once more and untrack_pfn() will be
happy. Note that leaving these page tables in place without a reservation
is not a problem, as we are aborting fork(); this process will never run.
A reproducer can trigger this usually at the first try:

Likely this case was missed in:
d155df53f310 ("x86/mm/pat: clear VM_PAT if copy_p4d_range failed")
... and instead of undoing the reservation we simply cleared the VM_PAT flag.
Keep the documentation of these functions in include/linux/pgtable.h,
one place is more than sufficient -- we should clean that up for the other
functions like track_pfn_remap/untrack_pfn separately.

Note that leaving these page tables in place without a reservation
is not a problem, as we are aborting fork(); this process will never run.

A reproducer can trigger this usually at the first try:

https://gitlab.com/davidhildenbrand/scratchspace/-/raw/main/reproducers/pat_fork.c

WARNING: CPU: 26 PID: 11650 at arch/x86/mm/pat/memtype.c:983 get_pat_info+0xf6/0x110
Modules linked in: ...
CPU: 26 UID: 0 PID: 11650 Comm: repro3 Not tainted 6.12.0-rc5+ #92
Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009), BIOS 1.16.3-2.fc40 04/01/2014
RIP: 0010:get_pat_info+0xf6/0x110
...
Call Trace:
<TASK>
...
untrack_pfn+0x52/0x110
unmap_single_vma+0xa6/0xe0
unmap_vmas+0x105/0x1f0
exit_mmap+0xf6/0x460
__mmput+0x4b/0x120
copy_process+0x1bf6/0x2aa0
kernel_clone+0xab/0x440
__do_sys_clone+0x66/0x90
do_syscall_64+0x95/0x180

Likely this case was missed in:

d155df53f310 ("x86/mm/pat: clear VM_PAT if copy_p4d_range failed")

... and instead of undoing the reservation we simply cleared the VM_PAT flag.

Keep the documentation of these functions in include/linux/pgtable.h,
one place is more than sufficient -- we should clean that up for the other
functions like track_pfn_remap/untrack_pfn separately."

net: dsa: sja1105: fix kasan out-of-bounds warning in sja1105_table_delete_entry()
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: dsa: sja1105: fix kasan out-of-bounds warning in sja1105_table_delete_entry()
There are actually 2 problems:
- deleting the last element doesn't require the memmove of elements
[i + 1, end) over it. Actually, element i+1 is out of bounds.
- The memmove itself should move size - i - 1 elements, because the last
element is out of bounds.
The out-of-bounds element still remains out of bounds after being
accessed, so the problem is only that we touch it, not that it becomes
in active use. But I suppose it can lead to issues if the out-of-bounds
element is part of an unmapped page.
Severity

Title
net: Remove RTNL dance for SIOCBRADDIF and SIOCBRDELIF.
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: Remove RTNL dance for SIOCBRADDIF and SIOCBRDELIF.
SIOCBRDELIF is passed to dev_ioctl() first and later forwarded to
br_ioctl_call(), which causes unnecessary RTNL dance and the splat
below [0] under RTNL pressure.
Let's say Thread A is trying to detach a device from a bridge and
Thread B is trying to remove the bridge.
In dev_ioctl(), Thread A bumps the bridge device's refcnt by
netdev_hold() and releases RTNL because the following br_ioctl_call()
also re-acquires RTNL.
In the race window, Thread B could acquire RTNL and try to remove
the bridge device. Then, rtnl_unlock() by Thread B will release RTNL
and wait for netdev_put() by Thread A.
Thread A, however, must hold RTNL after the unlock in dev_ifsioc(),
which may take long under RTNL pressure, resulting in the splat by
Thread B.
Thread A (SIOCBRDELIF) Thread B (SIOCBRDELBR)

To avoid blocking SIOCBRDELBR unnecessarily, let's not call
dev_ioctl() for SIOCBRADDIF and SIOCBRDELIF.
In the dev_ioctl() path, we do the following:
1. Copy struct ifreq by get_user_ifreq in sock_do_ioctl()
2. Check CAP_NET_ADMIN in dev_ioctl()
3. Call dev_load() in dev_ioctl()
4. Fetch the master dev from ifr.ifr_name in dev_ifsioc()
3. can be done by request_module() in br_ioctl_call(), so we move
1., 2., and 4. to br_ioctl_stub().
Note that 2. is also checked later in add_del_if(), but it's better
performed before RTNL.
SIOCBRADDIF and SIOCBRDELIF have been processed in dev_ioctl() since
the pre-git era, and there seems to be no specific reason to process
them there.

Above issue happens as ext4_xattr_delete_inode() isn't check xattr
is valid if xattr is in inode.
To solve above issue call xattr_check_inode() check if xattr if valid
in inode. In fact, we can directly verify in ext4_iget_extra_inode(),
so that there is no divergent verification.
AV:L - Exploitation requires the attacker-crafted ext4 image to be presented to the local kernel as a block device — a USB stick on an automounting desktop/kiosk, a loop/NBD/iSCSI-backed device, or a container/VM disk image — reaching the bug through the mount(2) syscall path. No network protocol handler is involved, and physical access is not strictly required since loop and network-block-backed images work equally well.
AC:L - The attacker fully controls every byte of the on-disk image, including the ea_inode feature bit, the inode's i_extra_isize, the xattr magic, the entry array, and which inode sits last in its inode-table block so the walk runs off the end of the buffer_head page allocation. The corruption is deterministic at mount during orphan cleanup with no race to win and no dependency on kernel memory layout the attacker cannot influence.
PR:N - The attacker needs no account or privilege on the target system — they only supply the malicious filesystem image, which is then mounted by root, by an automount daemon such as udisks2, or by a container/VM image-handling service acting on the attacker's data. All privileged operations along the path are performed by the victim system on the attacker's behalf.
UI:N - On the common desktop, kiosk, and appliance configurations where udisks2/systemd automounts removable media, plugging in the device triggers the mount with no human participation, and the bug fires immediately during ext4_orphan_cleanup() inside ext4_fill_super() rather than requiring any subsequent file access. Container and VM image-mount services likewise mount attacker-supplied images unattended.
S:U - The out-of-bounds read and write occur in kernel heap memory within the same kernel security authority that hosts the vulnerable ext4 code. There is no crossing of a VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary.
C:H - The loop performs an unbounded (pre-mitigation) or several-byte-past-the-allocation (post-mitigation) out-of-bounds read of adjacent kernel heap memory past the inode-table buffer_head, and those leaked bytes are consumed as e_value_inum/e_hash/e_value_size values that steer subsequent inode lookups and quota accounting, making adjacent kernel memory contents observable through filesystem state and error output.
I:H - `entry->e_value_inum = 0; entry->e_value_size = 0;` writes 8 zero bytes through an out-of-bounds entry pointer into adjacent kernel heap memory, and the OOB-derived inode numbers drive ext4_xattr_inode_dec_ref()/ext4_orphan_add() to decrement refcounts and orphan arbitrary inodes. This combination of controlled kernel heap zeroing plus arbitrary on-disk metadata corruption is a usable memory-corruption primitive, not a bounded misread.
A:H - KASAN reproduces the issue as a use-after-free/out-of-bounds access past a page-sized buffer_head allocation during mount; on a production kernel the same access corrupts adjacent slab memory and the bogus inode ref-count decrements trigger EXT4-fs errors and oops/panic. The crash occurs during ext4_fill_super() and can be repeated on every mount attempt."

No local access is needed at any point.
AC:L - The attacker drives both sides of the race by pipelining concurrent SMB2 requests on one connection (ksmbd's workqueue has no per-connection serialization), and the race window spans a blocking userspace IPC round-trip of up to 2 seconds, while the target handle ID is a predictable small `ida_alloc()` value.
PR:L - Reaching create_smb2_pipe() requires a completed SMB2 SESSION_SETUP and a TREE_CONNECT to IPC$, i.e. any valid low-privileged SMB account (or a guest account where mapping is enabled). This matches the scoring of the sibling ksmbd session UAFs CVE-2025-22040/CVE-2025-22041.
UI:N - The attacker generates every request in the sequence; no action by a legitimate user or administrator is required to trigger the race.
S:U - The corruption is confined to the kernel's own heap and the ksmbd server's data structures, all within the same security authority; no VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.
C:H - The success path returns `entry->id` read from freed slab memory and sends it back to the attacker as the CREATE response VolatileFileId, directly leaking reclaimed kernel heap contents, and the UAF/double-free of a small generic-cache object gives a spray-controlled read primitive.
I:H - The error path double-frees the entry and calls ksmbd_rpc_id_free() on a stale IDA id now owned by a different live RPC handle, yielding freelist corruption and cross-handle aliasing that are classic stepping stones to arbitrary write and control-flow hijack in kernel context.
A:H - Use-after-free and double-free of a kmalloc object reliably produce slab corruption, oops, or panic, and the attacker can repeat the race indefinitely over new sessions to crash the server."

This problem is similar to the problem that the
commit 1d6a9e7449e2 ("RDMA/core: Fix use-after-free when rename device name")
fixes.
The root cause is: the function ib_device_rename() renames the name with
lock. But in the function kobject_uevent(), this name is accessed without
lock protection at the same time.
The solution is to add the lock protection when this name is accessed in
the function kobject_uevent().
AV:L - Both sides of the race are reached via `sendmsg()` on a local NETLINK_RDMA socket (`rdma_nl_rcv_msg` → `nldev_newlink` / `nldev_set_doit`), which requires local system access. No remote peer data reaches the vulnerable code.
AC:L - The attacker controls both sides of the race, looping RDMA_NLDEV_CMD_NEWLINK in one thread and RDMA_NLDEV_CMD_SET (rename) in another; `enable_device_and_get()` marks the device DEVICE_REGISTERED and drops to refcount 2 before the unprotected `kobject_uevent()`, leaving a reliably hittable window that syzkaller reproduced.
PR:L - The gate is `netlink_capable(skb, CAP_NET_ADMIN)`, which checks init_user_ns and so is not obtainable via `unshare -Urn`, but CAP_NET_ADMIN in the initial user namespace is routinely delegated to non-root, container-confined workloads (Docker/K8s do not enable user namespaces by default, and RDMA/SR-IOV network plugins commonly run with `--cap-add=NET_ADMIN`). Scored as a low-privileged principal rather than real host root.
UI:N - The attacker triggers both the device registration and the concurrent rename entirely on its own via netlink; no victim action is involved.
S:U - The use-after-free is in kernel slab memory and its impact stays within the kernel's security authority; no hypervisor, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.
C:H - The freed `kobj->name` slab object is `strlen`'d and `memcpy`'d into the `DEVPATH=` uevent variable that is broadcast to userspace listeners and the uevent helper, so reallocated kernel heap contents are disclosed outside the kernel, and the unterminated `strlen` reads out of bounds past the freed chunk.
I:H - This is a slab use-after-free where the attacker can spray the freed kmalloc chunk and control the data the kernel then consumes; per UAF-class scoring the reallocation primitive is treated as exploitable for kernel state corruption, and the resulting bogus DEVPATH also drives userspace device management onto the wrong sysfs path.
A:H - KASAN reports a slab-use-after-free read that can fault and oops when the backing page is freed or under KFENCE/page poisoning, and `kobject_get_path()`'s `retry` loop can spin under a sustained rename storm, both causing denial of service."

drm/amdgpu: Replace Mutex with Spinlock for RLCG register access to avoid Priority Inversion in SRIOV
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amdgpu: Replace Mutex with Spinlock for RLCG register access to avoid Priority Inversion in SRIOV
RLCG Register Access is a way for virtual functions to safely access GPU
registers in a virtualized environment., including TLB flushes and
register reads. When multiple threads or VFs try to access the same
registers simultaneously, it can lead to race conditions. By using the
RLCG interface, the driver can serialize access to the registers. This
means that only one thread can access the registers at a time,
preventing conflicts and ensuring that operations are performed
correctly. Additionally, when a low-priority task holds a mutex that a
high-priority task needs, ie., If a thread holding a spinlock tries to
acquire a mutex, it can lead to priority inversion. register access in
amdgpu_virt_rlcg_reg_rw especially in a fast code path is critical.
The call stack shows that the function amdgpu_virt_rlcg_reg_rw is being
called, which attempts to acquire the mutex. This function is invoked
from amdgpu_sriov_wreg, which in turn is called from
gmc_v11_0_flush_gpu_tlb.
The [ BUG: Invalid wait context ] indicates that a thread is trying to
acquire a mutex while it is in a context that does not allow it to sleep
(like holding a spinlock).
Fixes the below:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: stmmac: make sure that ptp_rate is not 0 before configuring EST
If the ptp_rate recorded earlier in the driver happens to be 0, this
bogus value will propagate up to EST configuration, where it will
trigger a division by 0.
Prevent this division by 0 by adding the corresponding check and error
code.

root cause is:
page_pool_recycle_in_ring
ptr_ring_produce
spin_lock(&r->producer_lock);
WRITE_ONCE(r->queue[r->producer++], ptr)
//recycle last page to pool
page_pool_release
page_pool_scrub

ptr_ring_consume
page_pool_return_page //release all page
__page_pool_destroy
free_percpu(pool->recycle_stats);
free(pool) //free
spin_unlock(&r->producer_lock); //pool->ring uaf read
recycle_stat_inc(pool, ring);
page_pool can be free while page pool recycle the last page in ring.
Add producer-lock barrier to page_pool_release to prevent the page
pool from being free before all pages have been recycled.
recycle_stat_inc() is empty when CONFIG_PAGE_POOL_STATS is not
enabled, which will trigger Wempty-body build warning. Add definition
for pool stat macro to fix warning.
AV:L - Triggering requires local operations — creating/tearing down a page_pool-backed netdev (veth NAPI/GRO toggle, XDP detach, `ip link set down`, channel/ring reconfiguration) while freeing socket-queued skbs via close/purge syscalls. A remote peer can supply the packets that populate the pool but cannot initiate `page_pool_destroy()`, so the attack vector is local.
AC:L - The attacker controls both sides of the race: they create the page pool, park page_pool-backed skbs on their own socket receive queue, then concurrently destroy the pool and purge the queue from another thread. Per-attempt the window is short, but it is entirely attacker-created and repeatable indefinitely (the `page_pool_release_retry` worker re-opens it every DEFER_TIME), with no condition outside the attacker's influence.
PR:L - The producer side (`skb_release_data` → `napi_pp_put_page` → `page_pool_recycle_in_ring`) needs no privileges at all — just an ordinary socket. The destroy side needs only CAP_NET_ADMIN inside a network namespace, which any unprivileged user obtains with `unshare -Urn` to create a veth pair and toggle its NAPI/XDP state; no real root in the init namespace is required.
UI:N - The attacking process performs the pool teardown and the skb free itself from its own threads. No victim action or cooperating process is needed.
S:U - The freed object and the corruption both live in the host kernel's own memory; no VM, hypervisor, or IOMMU boundary is crossed.
C:H - This is a use-after-free on a `kzalloc_node()`-allocated `struct page_pool`, which an attacker can groom and replace with a controlled slab object; the stale `pool->recycle_stats` dereference then reads attacker-influenced kernel memory, and the lockdep `lock_release` path reads the freed `dep_map`, yielding a kernel-memory disclosure primitive.
I:H - The racing producer writes into freed memory unconditionally — `r->queue[r->producer++]` stores a netmem pointer, `r->producer` is incremented, and `spin_unlock_bh()` performs a store-release to the freed lock word at a fixed offset in a reallocated object. With `CONFIG_PAGE_POOL_STATS`, `recycle_stat_inc(pool, ring)` additionally increments through a pointer read out of the reallocated object, giving a near-arbitrary write usable for control-flow hijack.
A:H - The confirmed syzbot outcome is a KASAN slab-use-after-free splat (an oops, and a panic under `panic_on_warn`/`panic_on_oops`); unpoisoned, the stray writes corrupt the slab and the recycled page ends up double-owned, readily producing kernel panics and network-stack breakage."
