AV:N - `ndisc_send_skb()` sits on the IPv6 neighbour-discovery transmit path, which is driven by ordinary received network traffic — a remote packet that requires a next-hop resolve causes `neigh_probe()`→`ndisc_solicit()`→`ndisc_send_ns()`→`ndisc_send_skb( )`, and inbound NS/RS/forwarded packets also reach it via `ndisc_send_na()`/`ndisc_send_redirect()`. This matches the AV:N assessment of its direct IPv4 counterpart `arp_xmit()` in the same series.
AC:H - The stale `struct net` only becomes a use-after-free if the device's netns is concurrently dismantled (`dev_change_net_namespace()` from `default_device_exit_batch()` followed by `net_free()`), and a remote attacker can neither trigger nor time netns teardown. Hitting the window therefore depends on host-side container/netns churn outside the attacker's control.
PR:N - The ND transmit path is entered from unauthenticated received packets and from routing-driven neighbour probing; no credentials, account, or capability on the target host are needed to drive it.
UI:N - Neighbour solicitation, router probing and NA replies are automatic kernel behaviours triggered by packet arrival and timer/workqueue expiry; no victim action is involved.
S:U - The freed `struct net`, its `ndisc_sk`, MIB counters and netfilter hook arrays all live in the kernel's own security authority, so impact stays within the kernel — no VM, IOMMU or sandbox boundary is crossed.
C:H - `sk` is loaded from the freed `net`, and `READ_ONCE(inet6_sk(sk)->hop_limit)` is copied into a transmitted ICMPv6 header, so a reclaimed-slab spray yields a read of attacker-chosen kernel memory exfiltrated onto the wire; more generally a UAF of `struct net` gives an arbitrary-read primitive.
I:H - `IP6_INC_STATS`/`ICMP6_INC_STATS` increment through a per-cpu pointer read from freed memory, and `NF_HOOK()` dispatches indirect calls through `net->nf.hooks_ipv6[]` loaded from the freed object, giving both a write primitive and a plausible control-flow-hijack path.
A:H - Dereferencing a freed `struct net` and the garbage `ndisc_sk` pointer derived from it reliably produces an oops or panic, and the corrupted netfilter hook walk can take the whole kernel down.
AV:N - The unprotected `arp_xmit()` calls are driven by the neighbour-resolution path (`neigh_timer_handler` → `neigh_probe` → `arp_solicit`), which a remote off-link attacker triggers at will by sending traffic to a Linux router/gateway that must resolve on-link next hops, as well as by ARP frames processed in `arp_process()`/bridge neigh-suppression. The vulnerable code is bound to the network stack and reachable from remotely originated packets, so Network is the correct and higher-severity classification.
AC:H - The attacker fully controls and can sustain the ARP-transmit side of the race, but the other side — a `struct net` being freed via `cleanup_net()` or a device migrating namespaces — is background system activity the network attacker cannot command. Because that condition lies outside attacker control, complexity is High.
PR:N - There is no capability check, credential check, or authentication gate anywhere on the path from packet receipt/neighbour resolution to `arp_xmit()`; ARP solicitation and reply generation happen unconditionally in softirq context. An entirely unauthenticated attacker reaches the vulnerable code.
UI:N - The attacker's own packets cause the kernel to emit ARP and execute the vulnerable code; no victim must mount a filesystem, open a file, or take any other action.
S:U - The use-after-free of `struct net` and the resulting corruption stay entirely within the kernel's own security authority. No VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.
C:H - A use-after-free of `struct net` lets `nf_hook()` read `net->nf.hooks_arp[]` and every ARP-family hook read `state->net` out of freed, potentially reallocated slab memory. Per kernel guidance a UAF gives the attacker control over the freed object's contents and thus an arbitrary kernel-memory read primitive.
I:H - The stale `net` yields a `hook_head` pointer from freed memory, and `nf_hook_slow()` then performs an indirect call through `e->hooks[s].hook` — a direct function-pointer hijack primitive if the netns slab is reallocated with sprayed data. Hooks also write through `state->net`, corrupting reused kernel objects.
A:H - Dereferencing a freed `struct net` and calling through a garbage `nf_hook_entries` reliably oopses or panics the kernel, and is a KASAN-reportable memory-safety violation that panics on hardened configurations. Any such kernel crash is scored High.
AV:L - The decisive side of the race — `dev_net_set()` during netdevice namespace migration or `default_device_exit_batch()` on netns teardown, followed by freeing the `struct net` — is driven only by local syscalls (`unshare(CLONE_NEWNET|CLONE_NEWUSER)`, RTM_NEWLINK/RTM_SETLINK). A purely remote or adjacent peer can generate ARP/NDISC traffic to reach `__neigh_notify()` but cannot cause the namespace pointer to go stale.
AC:L - The attacker controls both sides: they spin a loop creating/destroying network namespaces with veth devices while concurrently driving neighbour add/update/GC notifications on other CPUs, so the race is created rather than waited for. Per race-condition guidance, attacker-created races are Low even though the window between the `dev_net()` load and the `net->rtnl` dereference is narrow.
PR:L - `unshare -Urn` grants namespace-relative CAP_NET_ADMIN (`ns_capable(net->user_ns, CAP_NET_ADMIN)`), letting an ordinary unprivileged user create netns, create and move veth pairs, and trigger the teardown path; no real root is needed. Neighbour-table activity that reaches `__neigh_notify()` is likewise available to any unprivileged process.
UI:N - The attacker triggers both the namespace teardown and the neighbour notifications entirely from their own processes. No victim action, mount, or file open is involved.
S:U - The use-after-free and its consequences are confined to kernel memory within the same security authority; no VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed. This is standard in-kernel corruption leading to local privilege escalation.
C:H - The freed `struct net` is a reclaimable `net_cachep` slab object, and `net->rtnl` is subsequently consumed as a `struct sock *` by `netlink_set_err()`/`nlmsg_notify()`, which read `sk->sk_protocol` and `sock_net(sk)` and walk netlink tables from it. Heap-spraying the freed object turns this into an attacker-directed kernel read primitive.
I:H - With the freed `struct net` reclaimed under attacker control, `netlink_set_err()` writes through the forged `sk` pointer (`sk->sk_err = err`, list/waitqueue manipulation), giving a controlled kernel write usable for control-flow hijacking. Per guidance, use-after-free is scored High for integrity.
A:H - Even without successful reclaim, dereferencing the freed `struct net` and the dangling `net->rtnl` socket causes a kernel oops or panic in `nlmsg_notify()`/`netlink_set_err()`. The trigger loop can be repeated indefinitely by an unprivileged user."

A remote or adjacent peer can flood NS/RS traffic to drive the read side but cannot arm the free, so local access is required.
AC:L - The attacker owns both halves and can repeat them in a tight loop: one thread generates IPv6 traffic that triggers `rt6_probe_deferred`/`neigh_probe` → `ndisc_alloc_skb()` while another destroys the netns or moves the device out of it. `rt6_probe_deferred` runs in a preemptible workqueue holding only a netdev reference, so the window is wide and re-armable at will.
PR:L - Generating the NDISC transmit side needs no privileges (ordinary IPv6 sendto to an unresolved neighbour or gateway), and the netns create/destroy and device-migration side needs only CAP_NET_ADMIN within a namespace an unprivileged user obtains with `unshare -Urn`. No real root in the initial namespace is required.
UI:N - Every step — socket traffic, veth/route setup, netns churn — is performed by the attacker's own threads. No victim action is involved.
S:U - The use-after-free and all of its consequences stay within the kernel's own security authority; no VM, IOMMU, or other trust boundary is crossed.
C:H - The stale `struct net`/`struct sock` yields an attacker-groomable `sk` pointer, after which `sk_fullsock()` and `skb_set_hash_from_sk()` read fields from an attacker-chosen address and the dangling `skb->sk` is carried into the TX path — an arbitrary kernel-read primitive.
I:H - `refcount_add(skb->truesize, &sk->sk_wmem_alloc)` writes into the freed object, and `sock_wfree()` later performs an indirect call through `sk->sk_write_space` read from reclaimed memory (plus a possible `__sk_free()` on it), giving control-flow hijack and arbitrary kernel-state modification.
A:H - Even unweaponized, dereferencing a freed netns/socket and calling through garbage function pointers reliably oopses or panics the kernel, and the attacker can retrigger the race indefinitely."

No local access is needed.
AC:H - The use-after-free only materialises if the `struct net` obtained from `dev_net(dst->dev)` is concurrently torn down (netns dismantle or `dev_change_net_namespace()`), a condition a remote attacker cannot influence, and the unprotected window between the pointer load and the `ip6_rt_min_advmss` dereference is narrow.
PR:N - There is no privilege, capability or authentication check anywhere on the path; the code runs in softirq during SYN processing before any connection is established or credentials exchanged.
UI:N - The attacker triggers the path entirely by transmitting packets to a listening IPv6 port; no action by a local user or victim process is required.
S:U - The stale `struct net` dereference is confined to the kernel's own networking stack on the same host, crossing no virtualization, IOMMU or other security-authority boundary.
C:H - This is a use-after-free read of a freed `net_cachep` slab object, and the recovered value directly influences the MSS advertised in the SYN-ACK, exposing reallocated kernel heap contents to the remote peer as an oracle.
I:H - Reuse of a freed `struct net` means kernel state is derived from attacker-groomable reallocated slab memory; per UAF scoring guidance such object reuse is treated as corruption exploitable for further modification of kernel state.
A:H - Dereferencing a `struct net` that has already been returned to the slab allocator can fault or read garbage, producing a KASAN splat, oops or panic in the TCP receive softirq path, and the trigger is repeatable with ordinary inbound connections.
AV:N - `__ip_rt_update_pmtu()` sits directly on the ICMP Fragmentation-Needed processing path — `icmp_rcv()` → `icmp_unreach()` → protocol err handlers (`udp_err`, `raw_err`, `ping_err`, `tcp_v4_err`, `ipip_err`, GRE/vti/esp/ah err) → `ipv4_sk_update_pmtu()`/`ipv4_update_pmtu()`. A remote host anywhere on the internet reaches it with a single crafted IPv4 ICMP packet, and the attacker-supplied `un.frag.mtu` becomes the value written into the FNHE entry.
AC:H - The attacker fully controls the read side (unlimited ICMP frag-needed floods), but the freed `struct net` only becomes reachable when a namespace teardown races a long-lived cached `dst` whose `dst->dev` still maps to the dying netns — network-namespace destruction and the exact preemption window between loading `dev->nd_net` and dereferencing it are system state a remote attacker cannot induce.
PR:N - No authentication or credentials are involved anywhere on the path; the tunnel error handlers (`ipip_err`, GRE, vti, esp4, ah4) and `icmp_err()` dispatch on the quoted inner header alone with no socket or peer verification, so any unauthenticated host can drive `ipv4_update_pmtu()`.
UI:N - The ICMP error is consumed entirely inside softirq packet-receive processing; no local user opens, mounts, configures, or clicks anything for the vulnerable dereference to run.
S:U - The use-after-free read and the resulting bogus FIB lookup and FNHE writes are all confined to the kernel's own security authority; no hypervisor, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.
C:H - The freed `struct net` is not merely read for two sysctls — it is fed to `fib_lookup()`, which loads `net->ipv4.fib_main`/`fib_default`/`rules_ops` out of reclaimed memory and walks them as FIB tables and rule lists, so a groomed reallocation of the `net_cachep` object turns this into an attacker-directed read of arbitrary kernel addresses.
I:H - `update_or_create_fnhe()` writes through the `fib_nh_common` returned by that poisoned lookup — `rcu_assign_pointer(nhc->nhc_exceptions, hash)`, `fnhe->fnhe_pmtu = pmtu`, `fnhe->fnhe_expires` — with `pmtu` taken verbatim from the attacker's `ntohs(icmph->un.frag.mtu)`, yielding a controlled write through a pointer chain rooted in freed memory.
A:H - Even without weaponization, walking a FIB trie and a fib_rules list off a freed `struct net` reliably faults or corrupts state, producing a KASAN splat, oops, or panic, and the attacker can retrigger it indefinitely by replaying ICMP frag-needed packets."

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
clocksource: Use migrate_disable() to avoid calling get_random_u32() in atomic context
The following bug report happened with a PREEMPT_RT kernel:
BUG: sleeping function called from invalid context at kernel/locking/spinlock_rt.c:48
in_atomic(): 1, irqs_disabled(): 0, non_block: 0, pid: 2012, name: kwatchdog
preempt_count: 1, expected: 0
RCU nest depth: 0, expected: 0
get_random_u32+0x4f/0x110
clocksource_verify_choose_cpus+0xab/0x1a0
clocksource_verify_percpu.part.0+0x6b/0x330
clocksource_watchdog_kthread+0x193/0x1a0
It is due to the fact that clocksource_verify_choose_cpus() is invoked with
preemption disabled. This function invokes get_random_u32() to obtain
random numbers for choosing CPUs. The batched_entropy_32 local lock and/or
the base_crng.lock spinlock in driver/char/random.c will be acquired during
the call. In PREEMPT_RT kernel, they are both sleeping locks and so cannot
be acquired in atomic context.
Fix this problem by using migrate_disable() to allow smp_processor_id() to
be reliably used without introducing atomic context. preempt_disable() is
then called after clocksource_verify_choose_cpus() but before the
clocksource measurement is being run to avoid introducing unexpected
latency.

Title
net: ipv6: fix dst ref loops in rpl, seg6 and ioam6 lwtunnels
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: ipv6: fix dst ref loops in rpl, seg6 and ioam6 lwtunnels
Some lwtunnels have a dst cache for post-transformation dst.
If the packet destination did not change we may end up recording
a reference to the lwtunnel in its own cache, and the lwtunnel
state will never be freed.
Discovered by the ioam6.sh test, kmemleak was recently fixed
to catch per-cpu memory leaks. I'm not sure if rpl and seg6
can actually hit this, but in principle I don't see why not.
Severity
No CVSS data available.

Title
partitions: mac: fix handling of bogus partition table
Summary
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
partitions: mac: fix handling of bogus partition table
Fix several issues in partition probing:
- The bailout for a bad partoffset must use put_dev_sector(), since the
preceding read_part_sector() succeeded.
- If the partition table claims a silly sector size like 0xfff bytes
(which results in partition table entries straddling sector boundaries),
bail out instead of accessing out-of-bounds memory.
- We must not assume that the partition table contains proper NUL
termination - use strnlen() and strncmp() instead of strlen() and
strcmp().

Physical media insertion is one route, but the loop-device path makes plain local access sufficient, which is the broader and more severe vector.
AC:L - The attacker fully controls `block_size` and every partition-entry offset in the image, so the straddling out-of-bounds access is deterministic on every probe — no race, no unknown memory state, no retry needed. CONFIG_MAC_PARTITION is enabled by default in mainstream distro kernels, so no rare configuration is required.
PR:L - `loop_configure()`/`LOOP_SET_FD` with LO_FLAGS_PARTSCAN performs no capability check — an unprivileged user holding an open fd on a loop device can bind an arbitrary crafted image file and force the scan. Container, appliance, and sandbox deployments routinely expose loop or removable block devices to non-root users.
UI:N - The attacker supplies and attaches the malicious image itself and triggers the partition rescan directly; no victim needs to mount, open, or otherwise interact with anything. Hotplug scanning likewise runs automatically at add_disk() with no user action.
S:U - The out-of-bounds read and write stay within the kernel's own address space and are handled by the same security authority that owns the block layer. No VM, IOMMU, or sandbox boundary is crossed.
C:H - Up to 135 bytes of kernel memory past the end of a page-cache folio are read, and those bytes are propagated into partition start/size values that are exposed world-readable through /proc/partitions and sysfs, giving a repeatable kernel-heap disclosure primitive. The read is not narrowly bounded and the attacker chooses the exact offset past the page via secsize and slot.
I:H - On CONFIG_PPC_PMAC (where MAC_PARTITION is default-y) mac_fix_string() writes NUL bytes into memory beyond the folio at an attacker-chosen offset, an out-of-bounds write into adjacent kernel heap. Kernel partition state is additionally constructed from out-of-bounds memory contents.
A:H - Reading and writing past the end of a page-cache folio can fault or corrupt adjacent kernel structures, producing an oops or panic (and an immediate KASAN-detected fault on hardened kernels). The missing put_dev_sector() also leaks a folio reference on every bogus-partoffset probe, permanently pinning page-cache pages under repeated triggering."
