AV:L - The bug is reached by opening/reading `/sys/fs/selinux/policy` (selinuxfs), which invokes `sel_open_policy` → `security_read_policy` → `policydb_write` → `put_entry`; this is a local syscall/file path, not network-facing.
AC:L - A local attacker who can open the policy file reliably drives the vulnerable `put_entry` serialize path; no race or other condition outside the attacker's control is required once that access is available.
PR:L - Access is gated only by SELinux `SECURITY__READ_POLICY` (file mode is world-readable); common deployments grant this to unconfined local users (e.g. Fedora/RHEL `selinux_unconfined_type`), and globally permissive mode also allows any local user.
UI:N - Exploitation requires no victim action; the attacker opens the selinuxfs policy node themselves.
S:U - Impact is kernel memory corruption and privilege escalation within the same host security authority; this is not a VM/IOMMU/sandbox boundary escape.
C:H - Missing bounds check yields an out-of-bounds write into the vmalloc policy buffer (and `fp->len` underflow enables further corruption), which can be leveraged for arbitrary kernel memory disclosure primitives.
I:H - `put_entry` performs `memcpy` into `fp->data` without verifying remaining length, so a serialize overrun is a kernel out-of-bounds write usable for integrity compromise and control-flow hijacking.
A:H - The same out-of-bounds write / length underflow can oops or panic the kernel, so availability impact is high."

Experimental. This forecast is provided for visualization only and may change without notice. Do not use it for operational decisions.
Forecast uses a logistic model when the trend is rising, or an exponential decay model when the trend is falling. Fitted via linearized least squares.

The MITRE ATT&CK techniques below are AI-generated suggestions, inferred from the description of the
vulnerability by the CIRCL/vulnerability-attack-technique-classification-roberta-base
model, served locally by ML-Gateway.
They have not been verified by an analyst and are provided for guidance only.
The approach is described in our paper Mapping CVEs to MITRE ATT&CK Techniques: A Curated Gold-Set Classifier and the Limits of LLM-Assisted Label Expansion.

Vulnerabilities whose description is nearest to this one in the vector space of the CIRCL/vulnerability-attack-technique-biencoder model. This is a similarity search over the bi-encoder space (plain cosine), not a classification, and it has no measured accuracy.
