VAR-201204-0093
Vulnerability from variot - Updated: 2025-04-11 22:49An unspecified ActiveX control in SVUIGrd.ocx in ARC Informatique PcVue 6.0 through 10.0, FrontVue, and PlantVue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by using a crafted HTML document to obtain control of a function pointer. PcVue is a data acquisition control system software from ARC Informatique. There is a security hole in the PcVue control. You can write dword to any memory location through the GetExtendedColor method in SVUIGrd.ocx. Arc Informatique handles the \"SaveObject()\" and \"LoadObject()\" methods (SVUIGrd.ocx) with errors that can be exploited to execute virtual function calls at any memory location via a specially crafted \"aStream\" parameter. The Save/LoadObject method in SVUIGrd.ocx can be used to destroy local files. The aipgctl.ocx DeletePage method has an array overflow problem. The PcVue ActiveX control is prone to multiple vulnerabilities. Failed exploit attempts may result in a denial-of-service condition. PcVue 10.0 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected. ----------------------------------------------------------------------

DESCRIPTION: Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in multiple Arc Informatique products, which can be exploited by malicious people to manipulate certain data and compromise a user's system.
3) An error in the "SaveObject()" method (SVUIGrd.ocx) can be exploited to overwrite arbitrary files via directory traversal sequences.
The vulnerabilities are reported in the following versions: * PcVue versions 6.x, 7.x, 8.x, 9.x, and 10.x.
SOLUTION: Update to a fixed version. Contact the vendor for details.

"data": "An unspecified ActiveX control in SVUIGrd.ocx in ARC Informatique PcVue 6.0 through 10.0, FrontVue, and PlantVue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by using a crafted HTML document to obtain control of a function pointer. PcVue is a data acquisition control system software from ARC Informatique. There is a security hole in the PcVue control. You can write dword to any memory location through the GetExtendedColor method in SVUIGrd.ocx. Arc Informatique handles the \\\"SaveObject()\\\" and \\\"LoadObject()\\\" methods (SVUIGrd.ocx) with errors that can be exploited to execute virtual function calls at any memory location via a specially crafted \\\"aStream\\\" parameter. \nPcVue 10.0 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected. ----------------------------------------------------------------------\n\nSecunia is hiring!\n\nFind your next job here:\n\nhttp://secunia.com/company/jobs/\n\n----------------------------------------------------------------------\n\nTITLE:\nArc Informatique Products Multiple ActiveX Controls Vulnerabilities\n\nSECUNIA ADVISORY ID:\nSA47131\n\nVERIFY ADVISORY:\nSecunia.com\nhttp://secunia.com/advisories/47131/\nCustomer Area (Credentials Required)\nhttps://ca.secunia.com/?page=viewadvisory\u0026vuln_id=47131\n\nRELEASE DATE:\n2011-12-07\n\nDISCUSS ADVISORY:\nhttp://secunia.com/advisories/47131/#comments\n\nAVAILABLE ON SITE AND IN CUSTOMER AREA:\n * Last Update\n * Popularity\n * Comments\n * Criticality Level\n * Impact\n * Where\n * Solution Status\n * Operating System / Software\n * CVE Reference(s)\n\nhttp://secunia.com/advisories/47131/\n\nONLY AVAILABLE IN CUSTOMER AREA:\n * Authentication Level\n * Report Reliability\n * Secunia PoC\n * Secunia Analysis\n * Systems Affected\n * Approve Distribution\n * Remediation Status\n * Secunia CVSS Score\n * CVSS\n\nhttps://ca.secunia.com/?page=viewadvisory\u0026vuln_id=47131\n\nONLY AVAILABLE WITH SECUNIA CSI AND SECUNIA PSI:\n * AUTOMATED SCANNING\n\nhttp://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/\nhttp://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/corporate/wsus_sccm_3rd_third_party_patching/\n\nDESCRIPTION:\nMultiple vulnerabilities have been reported in multiple Arc\nInformatique products, which can be exploited by malicious people to\nmanipulate certain data and compromise a user\u0027s system. \n\n3) An error in the \"SaveObject()\" method (SVUIGrd.ocx) can be\nexploited to overwrite arbitrary files via directory traversal\nsequences. \n\nThe vulnerabilities are reported in the following versions:\n* PcVue versions 6.x, 7.x, 8.x, 9.x, and 10.x. \n\nSOLUTION:\nUpdate to a fixed version.
