    Title
Draft List - Contributor Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Draft Title in Custom Drafts Template Attributes
    Summary
Draft List is a WordPress plugin to manage and promote unpublished content. Versions 2.6.3 and below are vulnerable to stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) in the `[drafts]` shortcode and Draft List widget when the documented custom `template` option places the `{{draft}}` placeholder inside an HTML attribute. The vulnerable code inserts the raw draft `post_title` into `{{draft}}` when the current viewer cannot edit posts. Because the template is sanitized before `{{draft}}` replacement, a Contributor can store a quote-only title payload that breaks out of an attribute in a site-configured Draft List template and executes JavaScript for visitors who load the public page. Version 2.6.4 fixes the issue.

    Title
Code Embed - Contributor Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Remote URL Embed
    Summary
The Code Embed WordPress plugin prior to version 2.6.1 is vulnerable to stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) through the external URL embed feature in post content. The vulnerable code scans rendered content for URL embed tokens, fetches the remote URL, and inserts the remote response body into the page without output sanitization or an `unfiltered_html` capability check. This allows a Contributor attacker to submit a pending post containing an inert-looking URL token that executes attacker-controlled JavaScript when an Administrator or Editor previews or reviews the post. This is distinct from CVE-2026-2512, which affected custom field meta values up to version 2.5.1. This vector affects version 2.6 and uses the documented external URL embed feature in post content. This particular issue is patched in version 2.6.1.

    Title
ShareOpenly has Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) via Missing esc_url() on Shared URL in Content Output
    Summary
The ShareOpenly WordPress plugin prior to version 1.2.1 contains a Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability caused by the absence of WordPress's `esc_url()` escaping function on the `$url` variable before it is rendered into HTML content. This variable is constructed from `home_url( add_query_arg( array(), $wp->request ) )` and is concatenated directly into an HTML `href` attribute on every singular post or page where the plugin's sharing link is displayed. WordPress's security handbook mandates that every URL placed in HTML output must be passed through `esc_url()`, which both HTML-encodes special characters (converting `"`, `<`, `>` into their safe HTML entity equivalents) and strips dangerous URI schemes such as `javascript:` and `data:`. The omission of this function means that if the `$url` value ever contains HTML-special characters or a dangerous URI scheme — through a `home_url` WordPress filter applied by another plugin or theme, through certain web server or hosting configurations, or through future code changes — the unescaped content will be injected verbatim into the rendered HTML of every post or page on the site. Version 1.2.1 contains a patch for the issue.

"value": "The ShareOpenly WordPress plugin prior to version 1.2.1 contains a Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability caused by the absence of WordPress\u0027s `esc_url()` escaping function on the `$url` variable before it is rendered into HTML content. This variable is constructed from `home_url( add_query_arg( array(), $wp-\u003erequest ) )` and is concatenated directly into an HTML `href` attribute on every singular post or page where the plugin\u0027s sharing link is displayed. WordPress\u0027s security handbook mandates that every URL placed in HTML output must be passed through `esc_url()`, which both HTML-encodes special characters (converting `\"`, `\u003c`, `\u003e` into their safe HTML entity equivalents) and strips dangerous URI schemes such as `javascript:` and `data:`. The omission of this function means that if the `$url` value ever contains HTML-special characters or a dangerous URI scheme \u2014 through a `home_url` WordPress filter applied by another plugin or theme, through certain web server or hosting configurations, or through future code changes \u2014 the unescaped content will be injected verbatim into the rendered HTML of every post or page on the site. Version 1.2.1 contains a patch for the issue."

    CVE-2026-9104 (GCVE-0-2026-9104)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-05-22 03:39 – Updated: 2026-05-22 12:35
    VLAI
    Title
Draft List <= 2.6.3 - Authenticated (Author+) Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Draft Post Title
    Summary
The Draft List plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Draft Post Title in all versions up to, and including, 2.6.3 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with author-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The unescaped injection path is triggered specifically when the viewing user lacks edit capabilities, meaning payloads embedded in draft post titles via attribute-breakout techniques execute for unauthenticated users and subscribers.

    CVE-2026-4006 (GCVE-0-2026-4006)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-03-19 06:46 – Updated: 2026-04-08 17:17
    VLAI
    Title
    Draft List <= 2.6.2 - Authenticated (Contributor+) Stored Cross-Site Scripting via 'display_name' Parameter
    Summary
The Simple Draft List plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'display_name' post meta (Custom Field) in all versions up to and including 2.6.2. This is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on the author display name when no author URL is present. The plugin accesses `$draft_data->display_name` which, because `display_name` is not a native WP_Post property, triggers WP_Post::__get() and resolves to `get_post_meta($post_id, 'display_name', true)`. When the `user_url` meta field is empty, the `$author` value is assigned to `$author_link` on line 383 without any escaping (unlike line 378 which uses `esc_html()` for the `{{author}}` tag, and line 381 which uses `esc_html()` when a URL is present). This unescaped value is then inserted into the shortcode output via `str_replace()`. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses a page containing the `[drafts]` shortcode with the `{{author+link}}` template tag.

    Title
Code Embed <= 2.5.1 - Authenticated (Contributor+) Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Custom Fields
    Summary
The Code Embed plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via custom field meta values in all versions up to, and including, 2.5.1. This is due to the plugin's sanitization function `sec_check_post_fields()` only running on the `save_post` hook, while WordPress allows custom fields to be added via the `wp_ajax_add_meta` AJAX endpoint without triggering `save_post`. The `ce_filter()` function then outputs these unsanitized meta values directly into page content without escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-03-19 06:46 – Updated: 2026-04-08 17:17
    VLAI
    Title
    Draft List <= 2.6.2 - Authenticated (Contributor+) Stored Cross-Site Scripting via 'display_name' Parameter
