Title
jq: Missing runtime type checks for _strindices lead to crash and limited memory disclosure
Summary
jq is a command-line JSON processor. In commits after 69785bf77f86e2ea1b4a20ca86775916889e91c9, the _strindices builtin in jq's src/builtin.c passes its arguments directly to jv_string_indexes() without verifying they are strings, and jv_string_indexes() in src/jv.c relies solely on assert() checks that are stripped in release builds compiled with -DNDEBUG. This allows an attacker to crash jq trivially with input like _strindices(0), and by crafting a numeric value whose IEEE-754 bit pattern maps to a chosen pointer, achieve a controlled pointer dereference and limited memory read/probe primitive. Any deployment that evaluates untrusted jq filters against a release build is vulnerable. This issue has been patched in commit fdf8ef0f0810e3d365cdd5160de43db46f57ed03.

"value": "jq is a command-line JSON processor. In commits after 69785bf77f86e2ea1b4a20ca86775916889e91c9, the _strindices builtin in jq\u0027s src/builtin.c passes its arguments directly to jv_string_indexes() without verifying they are strings, and jv_string_indexes() in src/jv.c relies solely on assert() checks that are stripped in release builds compiled with -DNDEBUG. This issue has been patched in commit fdf8ef0f0810e3d365cdd5160de43db46f57ed03."

CVE-2026-40683 (GCVE-0-2026-40683)
Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-04-14 20:05 – Updated: 2026-04-14 20:14

Summary
In OpenStack Keystone before 28.0.1, the LDAP identity backend does not convert the user enabled attribute to a boolean when the user_enabled_invert configuration option is False (the default). The _ldap_res_to_model method in the UserApi class only performed string-to-boolean conversion when user_enabled_invert was True. When False, the raw string value from LDAP (e.g., "FALSE") was used directly. Since non-empty strings are truthy in Python, users marked as disabled in LDAP were treated as enabled by Keystone, allowing them to authenticate and perform actions. All deployments using the LDAP identity backend without user_enabled_invert=True or user_enabled_emulation are affected.

Title
Improper Control of Generation of Code when compiling specifically crafted malicious code with @babel/plugin-transform-modules-systemjs
Summary
Babel is a compiler for writing next generation JavaScript. From 7.12.0 to before 7.29.4 and 8.0.0-alpha.13, using Babel to compile code that was specifically crafted by an attacker can cause Babel to generate output code that executes arbitrary code. This vulnerability is fixed in 7.29.4 and 8.0.0-alpha.13.

Labcenter Electronics Proteus PDSPRJ File Parsing Type Confusion Remote Code Execution Vulnerability
Summary
Labcenter Electronics Proteus PDSPRJ File Parsing Type Confusion Remote Code Execution Vulnerability. This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations of Labcenter Electronics Proteus. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.
The specific flaw exists within the parsing of PDSPRJ files. The issue results from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can result in a type confusion condition. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code in the context of the current process. Was ZDI-CAN-25717.
