Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

pmdomain: arm: Fix NULL dereference on scmi_perf_domain removal

On unloading of the scmi_perf_domain module got the below splat, when in the DT provided to the system under test the '#power-domain-cells' property was missing. Indeed, this particular setup causes the probe to bail out early without giving any error, which leads to the ->remove() callback gets to run too, but without all the expected initialized structures in place.

Add a check and bail out early on remove too.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-06-26 21:32 – Updated: 2026-07-08 06:31
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

iommu: Fix NULL group->domain dereference in pci_dev_reset_iommu_done()

Local sashiko review pointed it out that group->domain could be NULL when a default domain fails to allocate during the first probe, which can crash at domain->ops->attach_dev dereference in __iommu_attach_device() invoked by pci_dev_reset_iommu_done().

pci_dev_reset_iommu_prepare() is fine as an old_domain pointer can be NULL.

Skip the re-attach in pci_dev_reset_iommu_done() to fix the bug.

Mitigation MIT-56
Implementation

For any pointers that could have been modified or provided from a function that can return NULL, check the pointer for NULL before use. When working with a multithreaded or otherwise asynchronous environment, ensure that proper locking APIs are used to lock before the check, and unlock when it has finished [REF-1484].

Mitigation
Requirements

Select a programming language that is not susceptible to these issues.

Mitigation
Implementation

Check the results of all functions that return a value and verify that the value is non-null before acting upon it.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Identify all variables and data stores that receive information from external sources, and apply input validation to make sure that they are only initialized to expected values.

Mitigation
Implementation

Explicitly initialize all variables and other data stores, either during declaration or just before the first usage.

No CAPEC attack patterns related to this CWE.
