Title
Wings: Maliciously or erroneously created parsed config files can cause wings process to OOM
Summary
Wings is the server control plane for Pterodactyl, a free, open-source game server management panel. Prior to 1.13.0, unbounded json, yaml, and xml configuration-file parsers in parser.go can process an oversized non-file parser configuration file and exhaust Wings process memory. This issue is fixed in version 1.13.0.

Title
Gogs: Unauthenticated Asymmetric Denial of Service (DoS) via SSH Handshake Stall (File Descriptor Exhaustion)
Summary
Gogs is an open source self-hosted Git service. Prior to 0.14.3, the Gogs built-in Go SSH server is vulnerable to an unauthenticated, asymmetric Denial of Service (DoS) attack. The application accepts inbound TCP connections and passes them to golang.org/x/crypto/ssh.NewServerConn inside a new goroutine without enforcing any read/write deadlines on the underlying net.Conn. An unauthenticated attacker can open multiple TCP connections to the SSH port and simply withhold the SSH protocol banner. This forces the server to spawn an unbounded number of goroutines that block indefinitely waiting for socket I/O. This leads to complete File Descriptor (FD) exhaustion, preventing legitimate users from accessing the Git SSH service, and ultimately destabilizing the entire Gogs process (e.g., causing internal log rotation failures). This vulnerability is fixed in 0.14.3.

CVE-2026-52687 (GCVE-0-2026-52687)

Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-08-28 10:12 – Updated: 2026-08-28 15:53
VLAI
Summary
An attacker that has valid credentials can select a compression algorithm for the IMAP connection whose decompression state requires a large amount of memory, and open several such connections. The memory limit of the process is reached with only a few connections, terminating the process and all connections it handles, which can cause degradation or denial of service for IMAP. Disable IMAP compression. Alternatively limit the number of connections handled by a single imap-login process, though this has a performance impact. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known.

Disable IMAP compression. Alternatively limit the number of connections handled by a single imap-login process, though this has a performance impact. Update to non-vulnerable version. Title
Steeltoe.Discovery.Eureka: Unrecognized DataCenterInfo.Name poisons entire registry fetch
Summary
Steeltoe is an open source project that provides a collection of libraries that helps users build cloud-native applications. In Steeltoe.Discovery.Eureka prior to versions 4.2.0 and 3.4.0, `DataCenterInfo.FromJson` throws `ArgumentException` for any `name` value other than `"MyOwn"` or `"Amazon"`, despite the Java Eureka specification defining a third valid value: `"Netflix"`. The exception propagates through the entire registry deserialization chain and is swallowed by the periodic cache refresh task, leaving the local service registry permanently empty or stale. Versions 4.2.0 and 3.4.0 patch the issue. If an immediate upgrade is not possible, remove any registrations using unsupported `DataCenterInfo.name` values from the registry. In mixed Java/Spring and Steeltoe environments, audit for the `Netflix` data center type before deploying Steeltoe Eureka clients.

Title
jackson-databind: Deeply nested JsonNode throws StackOverflowError for toString()
Summary
jackson-databind contains the general-purpose data-binding functionality and tree-model for Jackson Data Processor. From 2.13.0 until 2.14.0, a potential Denial-of-Service exists when attacker sends deeply nested JSON if (and only if) the service reads deeply nested (1000s of levels) JSON as JsonNode (ObjectMapper.readTree()) and writes out same (or modifided) node using JsonNode.toString(). This can consume significant amount of resources with concurrent relatively small requests (1000 nested arrays is 2kB). This vulnerability is fixed in 2.14.0.

Title
Angular: Denial of Service (DoS) via OOM in Number Formatting (digitsInfo)
Summary
Angular is a development platform for building mobile and desktop web applications using TypeScript/JavaScript and other languages. Prior to 22.0.0-rc.2, 21.2.15, 20.3.22, and 19.2.23, a Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability exists in the @angular/common package of Angular. The formatNumber function, which is also utilized by DecimalPipe, PercentPipe, and CurrencyPipe, does not properly validate the upper bounds of the digitsInfo parameter. Specifically, the minimum and maximum fraction digits parsed from the digitsInfo string (e.g., 1.2-4) are converted to integers and used without limits. When parsing a maliciously crafted digitsInfo string with excessively large fraction digit values (e.g., 1.200000000-200000000), the internal roundNumber function attempts to pad the digits array to match the requested fraction size. This results in an unbounded loop that repeatedly pushes elements into an array. This vulnerability is fixed in 22.0.0-rc.2, 21.2.15, 20.3.22, and 19.2.23.

This vulnerability is fixed in 22.0.0-rc.2, 21.2.15, 20.3.22, and 19.2.23."

Title
Netty has unbounded pre-allocation in RedisArrayAggregator from RESP array length
Summary
Netty is a network application framework for development of protocol servers and clients. Prior to versions 4.1.135.Final and 4.2.15.Final, RedisArrayAggregator pre-allocates ArrayList with initial capacity equal to the RESP array element count declared in an array header. That count is taken from the wire before the corresponding child messages exist. A small malicious header can claim a huge initial capacity. Versions 4.1.135.Final and 4.2.15.Final patch the issue.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Design throttling mechanisms into the system architecture. The best protection is to limit the amount of resources that an unauthorized user can cause to be expended. A strong authentication and access control model will help prevent such attacks from occurring in the first place. The login application should be protected against DoS attacks as much as possible. Limiting the database access, perhaps by caching result sets, can help minimize the resources expended. To further limit the potential for a DoS attack, consider tracking the rate of requests received from users and blocking requests that exceed a defined rate threshold.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • Mitigation of resource exhaustion attacks requires that the target system either:
  • The first of these solutions is an issue in itself though, since it may allow attackers to prevent the use of the system by a particular valid user. If the attacker impersonates the valid user, they may be able to prevent the user from accessing the server in question.
  • The second solution is simply difficult to effectively institute -- and even when properly done, it does not provide a full solution. It simply makes the attack require more resources on the part of the attacker.
  • recognizes the attack and denies that user further access for a given amount of time, or
  • uniformly throttles all requests in order to make it more difficult to consume resources more quickly than they can again be freed.
Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Ensure that protocols have specific limits of scale placed on them.

Mitigation
Implementation

Ensure that all failures in resource allocation place the system into a safe posture.

CAPEC-147: XML Ping of the Death

An attacker initiates a resource depletion attack where a large number of small XML messages are delivered at a sufficiently rapid rate to cause a denial of service or crash of the target. Transactions such as repetitive SOAP transactions can deplete resources faster than a simple flooding attack because of the additional resources used by the SOAP protocol and the resources necessary to process SOAP messages. The transactions used are immaterial as long as they cause resource utilization on the target. In other words, this is a normal flooding attack augmented by using messages that will require extra processing on the target.

CAPEC-227: Sustained Client Engagement

An adversary attempts to deny legitimate users access to a resource by continually engaging a specific resource in an attempt to keep the resource tied up as long as possible. The adversary's primary goal is not to crash or flood the target, which would alert defenders; rather it is to repeatedly perform actions or abuse algorithmic flaws such that a given resource is tied up and not available to a legitimate user. By carefully crafting a requests that keep the resource engaged through what is seemingly benign requests, legitimate users are limited or completely denied access to the resource.

CAPEC-492: Regular Expression Exponential Blowup

An adversary may execute an attack on a program that uses a poor Regular Expression(Regex) implementation by choosing input that results in an extreme situation for the Regex. A typical extreme situation operates at exponential time compared to the input size. This is due to most implementations using a Nondeterministic Finite Automaton(NFA) state machine to be built by the Regex algorithm since NFA allows backtracking and thus more complex regular expressions.
