Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-05-24 17:14 – Updated: 2022-05-24 17:14A vulnerability was found in Red Hat Ceph Storage 4 and Red Hat Openshift Container Storage 4.2 where, A nonce reuse vulnerability was discovered in the secure mode of the messenger v2 protocol, which can allow an attacker to forge auth tags and potentially manipulate the data by leveraging the reuse of a nonce in a session. Messages encrypted using a reused nonce value are susceptible to serious confidentiality and integrity attacks.

GHSA-HMQ6-3HM7-3H78
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-02-12 00:32 – Updated: 2026-07-14 12:31In hostapd 2.10 and earlier, the PKEX code remains active even after a successful PKEX association. An attacker that successfully bootstrapped public keys with another entity using PKEX in the past, will be able to subvert a future bootstrapping by passively observing public keys, re-using the encrypting element Qi and subtracting it from the captured message M (X = M - Qi). This will result in the public ephemeral key X; the only element required to subvert the PKEX association.

GHSA-HRF3-6C7V-5628
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-03-12 15:30 – Updated: 2026-03-12 15:30A flaw was found in Libsoup. The server-side digest authentication implementation in the SoupAuthDomainDigest class does not properly track issued nonces or enforce the required incrementing nonce-count (nc) attribute. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to capture a single valid authentication header and replay it repeatedly. Consequently, the attacker can bypass authentication and gain unauthorized access to protected resources, impersonating the legitimate user.

GHSA-MX47-H32C-X878
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-06-15 21:30 – Updated: 2026-06-16 12:32Discuz! X5.0 releases 20260320 through 20260501 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability that allows unauthenticated remote attackers to gain unauthorized access to database backup and restore functionality by exploiting a shared cryptographic key between UCenter integration and the database backup API exposed by dbbak.php. Attackers can inject a crafted payload through the username parameter during login to abuse the encryption oracle in logging_ctl::logging_more(), obtain a legitimately signed token, and use it to bypass authorization for database export and import operations, with the additional ability to trigger a race condition to impersonate arbitrary users.

GHSA-PHQW-PWXM-86GQ
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-07-02 21:32 – Updated: 2026-07-02 21:32Apereo CAS 7.3.0 before 8.0.0-RC6 contains a cryptographic vulnerability that allows remote unauthenticated attackers to recover plaintext conversation state by exploiting AES-GCM initialization vector reuse across the server lifetime. Attackers can collect multiple client-side webflow execution tokens from the unauthenticated login page and perform known-plaintext analysis to decrypt the webflow conversation state due to keystream reuse caused by a fixed all-zero IV paired with the same encryption key.

GHSA-PQ4J-X8CJ-RWPC
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-08-28 18:31 – Updated: 2026-08-28 18:31wolfProvider before 1.2.2 generates the 8-byte explicit AES-GCM nonce once when the TLS write key is set and never increments it per record. As a result every TLS 1.2 and DTLS 1.2 AES-GCM record within a connection is encrypted under an identical key and nonce pair. Reusing a GCM key and nonce discloses the keystream (the XOR of two ciphertexts equals the XOR of their plaintexts, so one known record recovers the others) and leaks the GHASH authentication key, enabling authentication tag forgery. AES-CCM, TLS 1.3, and non-TLS use of the cipher are not affected.

Mitigation
Refuse to reuse nonce values.
Mitigation
Use techniques such as requiring incrementing, time based and/or challenge response to assure uniqueness of nonces.
