    Title
Glances: `--disable-config-exec` does not cover on-alert action commands (incomplete fix of CVE-2026-53925)
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. Prior to 4.5.6, GlancesActions.run() in glances/actions.py ignores --disable-config-exec for on-alert action commands and invokes secure_popen() with shell operators enabled, allowing configured redirection, command chaining, or pipes to execute when an alert triggers. This issue is fixed in 4.5.6.

    Title
Glances: Incomplete fix of CVE-2026-32608: action-template sanitizer is bypassed by nested stat values (process 'cmdline') → OS command injection
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. From 4.5.2 until 4.5.6, _sanitize_mustache_dict() in glances/actions.py skips nested list and dictionary strings such as process cmdline values, allowing pipe characters to survive chevron.render() and be executed by secure_popen() through administrator-configured action templates. This issue is fixed in 4.5.6.

    Title
Glances: Command injection bypass of action-template sanitizer via cross-field shell-operator reconstruction
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. Prior to 4.5.6, _sanitize_mustache_dict() in glances/actions.py sanitizes individual Mustache values before chevron.render(), allowing adjacent unescaped Mustache variables to reconstruct shell operators that secure_popen() executes when attacker-controlled process or container fields are rendered by an administrator-configured action template. This issue is fixed in 4.5.6.

    Title
Glances: REST API CORS Credentials Guard Uses Exact-Match Instead of Membership Test — Bypassed by Any Multi-Origin Allowlist Containing the Wildcard
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. Prior to 4.5.6, the cors_origins guard in glances/outputs/glances_restful_api.py uses exact list equality instead of wildcard membership, allowing a multi-origin list containing the wildcard to retain cors_credentials and expose authenticated REST API data to an untrusted website visited by a previously authenticated user. This issue is fixed in 4.5.6.

    CVE-2026-53925 (GCVE-0-2026-53925)

    Vulnerability from nvd – Published: 2026-06-25 18:03 – Updated: 2026-06-25 18:25
    VLAI
    Title
Glances: Arbitrary file write and command execution via `secure_popen` redirection and chaining operators in AMP command configuration
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. From 4.0.8 until 4.5.5, the secure_popen() function in glances/secure.py interprets > (file redirection), | (pipe), and && (command chaining) operators in command strings. These operators are applied without any validation on the target file path, piped command, or chained command. When Application Monitoring Process (AMP) modules load their command or service_cmd configuration values from glances.conf, those values are passed directly to secure_popen() with no sanitization. This allows an attacker who can modify the Glances configuration file to write arbitrary content to arbitrary filesystem paths (via >), chain arbitrary commands (via &&), or pipe command output to arbitrary programs (via |). This vulnerability is fixed in 4.5.5.

    Title
Glances: XML-RPC Server Missing Host Header Validation Enables DNS Rebinding Attack
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. Prior to 4.5.5, the Glances XML-RPC server (glances -s, implemented in glances/server.py) does not validate the HTTP Host header, leaving it vulnerable to DNS rebinding attacks. An attacker can exploit DNS rebinding to exfiltrate the full system monitoring dataset from a victim's browser. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.5.5.

    Title
Glances: XML-RPC Multi-Origin CORS Configuration Silently Falls Back to Wildcard (Incomplete Fix for CVE-2026-33533)
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. Prior to 4.5.5, the Glances XML-RPC server (glances -s) introduced a configurable CORS origin list in version 4.5.3 as a mitigation for CVE-2026-33533. However, the implementation silently falls back to Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * whenever cors_origins contains more than one entry. An operator who configures an explicit two-entry allowlist (e.g. two internal dashboard origins) intending to restrict browser access instead receives the unrestricted wildcard. A malicious web page served from any origin can issue a CORS simple request to /RPC2 and read the full system monitoring dataset without the victim's knowledge. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.5.5.

    Title
Glances: Insecure Pickle Deserialization in Version Cache Leads to Arbitrary Code Execution
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. Prior to 4.5.5, glances/outdated.py uses pickle.load() to read a version-check cache file stored at a predictable, world-accessible path (~/.cache/glances/glances-version.db or $XDG_CACHE_HOME/glances/glances-version.db). No integrity check, signature verification, or format validation is performed before deserialization. An attacker with write access to that path — through any of several realistic local or container-level scenarios — can plant a malicious pickle file and achieve arbitrary code execution as the OS user running Glances the next time it starts with version checking enabled (the default). This vulnerability is fixed in 4.5.5.

    Title
Glances: Command Injection via KVM/QEMU VM Domain Names in glances/plugins/vms/engines/virsh.py
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. Prior to 4.5.5, the Glances KVM/QEMU monitoring engine (glances/plugins/vms/engines/virsh.py) passes VM domain names, read directly from virsh list --all output, into f-string command templates that are processed by secure_popen(). secure_popen() is explicitly designed to interpret &&, |, and > as shell operators. Because domain names are never sanitised before interpolation, any user with the ability to create or rename a KVM/QEMU virtual machine can execute arbitrary commands as the OS user running Glances — commonly root on hypervisor hosts. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.5.5.

    Title
Glances has CQL Injection in its Cassandra Export Module via Unsanitized Config Values
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. Prior to version 4.5.4, the Cassandra export module (`glances/exports/glances_cassandra/__init__.py`) interpolates `keyspace`, `table`, and `replication_factor` configuration values directly into CQL statements without validation. A user with write access to `glances.conf` can redirect all monitoring data to an attacker-controlled Cassandra keyspace. Version 4.5.4 contains a fix.

    Title
Glances IP Plugin has SSRF via public_api that leads to credential leakage
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. Prior to version 4.5.4, a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability exists in the Glances IP plugin due to improper validation of the public_api configuration parameter. The value of public_api is used directly in outbound HTTP requests without any scheme restriction or hostname/IP validation. An attacker who can modify the Glances configuration can force the application to send requests to arbitrary internal or external endpoints. Additionally, when public_username and public_password are set, Glances automatically includes these credentials in the Authorization: Basic header, resulting in credential leakage to attacker-controlled servers. This vulnerability can be exploited to access internal network services, retrieve sensitive data from cloud metadata endpoints, and/or exfiltrate credentials via outbound HTTP requests. The issue arises because public_api is passed directly to the HTTP client (urlopen_auth) without validation, allowing unrestricted outbound connections and unintended disclosure of sensitive information. Version 4.5.4 contains a patch.

    Title
Glances Vulnerable to Cross-Origin Information Disclosure via Unauthenticated REST API (/api/4) due to Permissive CORS
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. Prior to version 4.5.4, the Glances web server exposes a REST API (`/api/4/*`) that is accessible without authentication and allows cross-origin requests from any origin due to a permissive CORS policy (`Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *`). This allows a malicious website to read sensitive system information from a running Glances instance in the victim’s browser, leading to cross-origin data exfiltration. While a previous advisory exists for XML-RPC CORS issues, this report demonstrates that the REST API (`/api/4/*`) is also affected and exposes significantly more sensitive data. Version 4.5.4 patches the issue.

    Title
Glances Vulnerable to Command Injection via Dynamic Configuration Values
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. Prior to version 4.5.3, Glances supports dynamic configuration values in which substrings enclosed in backticks are executed as system commands during configuration parsing. This behavior occurs in Config.get_value() and is implemented without validation or restriction of the executed commands. If an attacker can modify or influence configuration files, arbitrary commands will execute automatically with the privileges of the Glances process during startup or configuration reload. In deployments where Glances runs with elevated privileges (e.g., as a system service), this may lead to privilege escalation. This issue has been patched in version 4.5.3.

    Title
Glances Vulnerable to Cross-Origin System Information Disclosure via XML-RPC Server CORS Wildcard
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. Prior to version 4.5.3, the Glances XML-RPC server (activated with glances -s or glances --server) sends Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * on every HTTP response. Because the XML-RPC handler does not validate the Content-Type header, an attacker-controlled webpage can issue a CORS "simple request" (POST with Content-Type: text/plain) containing a valid XML-RPC payload. The browser sends the request without a preflight check, the server processes the XML body and returns the full system monitoring dataset, and the wildcard CORS header lets the attacker's JavaScript read the response. The result is complete exfiltration of hostname, OS version, IP addresses, CPU/memory/disk/network stats, and the full process list including command lines (which often contain tokens, passwords, or internal paths). This issue has been patched in version 4.5.3.

    VLAI

Glances: as_dict_secure() Value-Level Bypass Leaks Credentials in URL Values via /api/4/config
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. Prior to 4.5.6, as_dict_secure() in glances/config.py checks only option names and exposes public_username and credentials embedded in public_api values through unauthenticated GET /api/4/config and GET /api/4/config/ip requests.

    Title
Glances: Command injection bypass of action-template sanitizer via cross-field shell-operator reconstruction
    Summary
Glances is an open-source system cross-platform monitoring tool. Prior to 4.5.6, _sanitize_mustache_dict() in glances/actions.py sanitizes individual Mustache values before chevron.render(), allowing adjacent unescaped Mustache variables to reconstruct shell operators that secure_popen() executes when attacker-controlled process or container fields are rendered by an administrator-configured action template. This issue is fixed in 4.5.6.

    CVE-2026-53925 (GCVE-0-2026-53925)

    Vulnerability from cvelistv5 – Published: 2026-06-25 18:03 – Updated: 2026-06-25 18:25
