CWE-918
AllowedServer-Side Request Forgery (SSRF)
Abstraction: Base · Status: Incomplete
The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination.
5502 vulnerabilities reference this CWE, most recent first.

"value": "Koel is a free, open-source music streaming solution. Prior to 9.7.1, outbound podcast and radio fetch paths perform a point-in-time App\\Helpers\\Network::isPublicHost() or isSafeUrl() check without pinning the validated address, and most paths lack redirect-hop validation and do not revalidate every redirect target. PhanAn\\Poddle\\Poddle::fromUrl(), PodcastService::getStreamableUrl(), PodcastService::isPodcastObsolete(), App\\Rules\\HasAudioContentType, and App\\Rules\\SafeUrl can therefore follow an attacker-controlled redirect to an internal address or connect after DNS rebinding changes a public resolution to a private one. These paths are reachable through podcast and radio APIs, including createPodcastChannel, createInternetRadioStation, refreshPodcasts, apiResource podcasts, and radio/stations, allowing an authenticated user to request internal services or cloud metadata and potentially receive parsed or streamed response content. This issue is fixed in version 9.7.1."

"value": "TensorZero is an open-source LLMOps platform that unifies an LLM gateway, observability, evaluation, optimization, and experimentation. Prior to 2026.6.0, the TensorZero Gateway /internal/object_storage endpoint accepts a caller-supplied JSON storage_path parameter that dynamically overrides the [object_storage] configuration. Selecting the filesystem storage type allows arbitrary files on the gateway filesystem to be read, including credential files. Selecting the s3_compatible storage type causes outbound object-storage requests to attacker-chosen internal or cloud-metadata endpoints. Exploitation requires access to the gateway, which can be authenticated or unauthenticated depending on deployment configuration. This issue is fixed in version 2026.6.0."

The outbound fetch flow validates a hostname against the blacklist before the request is sent, but the actual socket connection later performs a separate DNS lookup through node-fetch. Since the validated IPs are never pinned to the connection, an attacker-controlled hostname can return a public IP during validation and a private/internal IP during the real connection. This results in a non-blind SSRF primitive against internal services reachable from the Budibase host, including loopback, RFC1918 ranges, and cloud metadata endpoints. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.39.9."

{
"lang": "en",
"value": "ip-address is a library for parsing and manipulating IPv4 and IPv6 addresses in JavaScript. Versions 10.1.1 through 10.2.0 are vulnerable to SSRF through misclassification of IPv4-mapped/NAT64 IPv6 addresses. Address6.getType() classifies an address by matching it against a table of known IPv6 special-use prefixes, returning Global unicast when nothing matches. That table had no entry for the IPv4-mapped range (::ffff:0:0/96), so every mapped address fell through to Global unicast; NAT64 addresses matched their own NAT64 \u2026 labels. The boolean checks isLoopback, isUnspecified, and isMulticast compared getType() against a fixed label and so returned false, while isLinkLocal and isULA checked only the native IPv6 ranges. The library already exposed isMapped4() and to4(), but did not apply them inside these checks, so a mapped or NAT64 address was never normalized to its embedded IPv4 address before classification. For IPv4-mapped addresses the host OS routes to the IPv4 stack, so the misclassification is reachable on any dual-stack host. For NAT64, the classification bypass is unconditional but end-to-end reachability additionally requires a NAT64/DNS64 gateway in the deployment network.This issue has been fixed in version 10.2.1."

"value": "Pydantic AI is a Python agent framework for building Generative AI applications. In versions 1.65.0 through 1.105.0, and 2.0.0b1 through 2.0.0b5, a client that submits message history to a Pydantic AI UI adapter (such as the Vercel AI adapter) can reference arbitrary files in the application\u0027s model-provider or cloud-storage account. While file URL parts are validated against a scheme allowlist, UploadedFile references \u2014 which point to a file by provider file ID or cloud-storage URI (e.g. s3://\u2026, gs://\u2026) \u2014 were forwarded without validation. Because the provider resolves an UploadedFile using the server-side identity (IAM role, service account, or provider API key) rather than the client\u0027s, an attacker can craft message history to make the server read objects from its own account or other tenants, given a referenceable identifier. Exploitation requires a valid file identifier, which is not always unguessable depending on how the application names objects. This issue has been fixed in versions 1.106.0 and 2.0.0b6."

"value": "Statamic is a Laravel and Git powered content management system (CMS). Prior to 5.73.24 and 6.20.1, the Glide image proxy\u0027s URL validation in src/Imaging/RemoteUrlValidator.php and src/Imaging/GuzzleAdapter.php could be bypassed using DNS rebinding. The remote hostname was validated as publicly routable, but resolved again when the image was actually fetched, so an attacker controlling the hostname\u0027s DNS could rebind it to an internal address after validation and cause the server to make HTTP requests to internal addresses, including loopback, private network, and cloud metadata endpoints. This affects sites that pass user-supplied URLs to Glide. This issue is fixed in versions 5.73.24 and 6.20.1."

CAPEC-664: Server Side Request Forgery
An adversary exploits improper input validation by submitting maliciously crafted input to a target application running on a server, with the goal of forcing the server to make a request either to itself, to web services running in the server’s internal network, or to external third parties. If successful, the adversary’s request will be made with the server’s privilege level, bypassing its authentication controls. This ultimately allows the adversary to access sensitive data, execute commands on the server’s network, and make external requests with the stolen identity of the server. Server Side Request Forgery attacks differ from Cross Site Request Forgery attacks in that they target the server itself, whereas CSRF attacks exploit an insecure user authentication mechanism to perform unauthorized actions on the user's behalf.
