Title
Traccar: Missing edit authorization on device image upload allows read-only users to write files
Summary
Traccar is an open source GPS tracking system. Prior to 6.13.0, DeviceResource.uploadImage authorizes the target device only through Condition.Permission(User.class, getUserId(), Device.class) and then immediately streams the uploaded body into mediaManager.createFileStream(...). Unlike the generic mutation path in BaseObjectResource.update and the explicit device mutation handler updateAccumulators, this route never invokes permissionsService.checkEdit(getUserId(), Device.class, false, false). The skipped guard is exactly where Traccar enforces readonly and deviceReadonly restrictions for non-admin users. An unauthorized user can replace a device’s stored image file under the server media directory. This allows modification of UI-visible device media and any downstream workflows that rely on the persisted image, despite other device update paths correctly rejecting the same identity. This vulnerability is fixed in 6.13.0.

Title
etcd: Read access via PrevKv in etcd transactions may bypass RBAC authorization checks
Summary
etcd is a distributed key-value store for the data of a distributed system. Prior to 3.4.44, 3.5.30, and 3.6.11, a vulnerability in etcd allows read access via PrevKv, or lease attachment in Put requests within transaction operations, to bypass RBAC authorization checks. An authenticated user without sufficient read or lease-related permissions may be able to access unauthorized data or attach leases by invoking transaction operations with these features enabled. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.4.44, 3.5.30, and 3.6.11.

Title
efw4.X: readonly Flag Not Enforced Server-Side
Summary
efw4.X is an Enterprise Framework for Web. Prior to 4.08.010, the readonly flag set on the <efw:elFinder> JSP tag is intended to prevent file modifications. When protected=true, elfinder_checkRisk enforces that the client sends readonly=true (matching the session value), but no event handler checks the readonly value before performing write operations. The flag only controls client-side UI elements (disabling buttons) and response metadata (write: 0, locked: 1). An attacker who sends requests directly (bypassing the UI) can perform all file operations despite readonly=true. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.08.010.

Title
Wazuh Manager dapi RBAC Bypass Allows Privilege Escalation
Summary
Wazuh is a free and open source platform used for threat prevention, detection, and response. From 4.0.0 until 4.14.5, Wazuh Manager allows a low-privilege read-only API user with manager:read permission to retrieve the cluster key from the element in ossec.conf through GET /manager/configuration?raw=true. An attacker with network access to TCP port 1516 can use the disclosed Fernet key to impersonate a cluster worker and submit distributed API requests containing attacker-controlled rbac_permissions with rbac_mode set to black. Because the master trusts the worker-supplied authorization context, the attacker can create users, assign administrator roles, access credentials and API tokens, modify configuration, and execute actions across agents. This issue is fixed in version 4.14.5.

Title
RT: Privilege escalation and information disclosure via REST 2.0 user collection endpoint
Summary
RT is an open source, enterprise-grade issue and ticket tracking system. Versions prior to 5.0.10, 6.0.0 and above, prior to 6.0.3 contain an information disclosure and privilege escalation vulnerability in the REST 2.0 API. A privileged (non-administrative) user can obtain authentication credentials belonging to other users — including users with administrative privileges — and use those credentials to read data as those users via RT's feed endpoints. The same request that exposes the credentials also rotates them, invalidating previously-distributed feed URLs across the instance. This issue has been fixed in versions 5.0.10 and 6.0.3.

Title
ArcadeDB: Cross-database authorization bypass and unsecured newly-created databases
Summary
ArcadeDB is a Multi-Model DBMS. Starting in version 21.10.1 and prior to version 26.4.2, authenticated users and API tokens scoped to a specific database could read, write, and mutate schema on any other database on the same server. Two distinct defects contributed: (1) ServerSecurityUser.getDatabaseUser() returned a DB user with an uninitialized fileAccessMap, which requestAccessOnFile treated as allow-all; (2) ArcadeDBServer.createDatabase() omitted factory.setSecurity(...) so any database created via POST /api/v1/server {"command":"create database X"} had its entire record-level authorization system silently disabled. In combination, record-level and database-level authorization could be bypassed by any authenticated principal. This vulnerability is fixed in 26.4.2.

Starting in version 21.10.1 and prior to version 26.4.2, authenticated users and API tokens scoped to a specific database could read, write, and mutate schema on any other database on the same server. Two distinct defects contributed: (1) ServerSecurityUser.getDatabaseUser() returned a DB user with an uninitialized fileAccessMap, which requestAccessOnFile treated as allow-all; (2) ArcadeDBServer.createDatabase() omitted factory.setSecurity(...) so any database created via POST /api/v1/server {\"command\":\"create database X\"} had its entire record-level authorization system silently disabled. In combination, record-level and database-level authorization could be bypassed by any authenticated principal. This vulnerability is fixed in 26.4.2."

Title
MariaDB: FILE privilege was not checked for subqueries in the FROM clause
Summary
MariaDB server is a community developed fork of MySQL server. From versions 10.6.1 to before 10.6.26, 10.11.1 to before 10.11.17, 11.4.1 to before 11.4.11, 11.8.1 to before 11.8.7, and 12.3.1, MariaDB allowed SELECT ... INTO OUTFILE and SELECT ... INTO DUMPFILE without verifying the FILE privilege if the FROM clause contained only subqueries. This issue has been patched in versions 10.6.26, 10.11.17, 11.4.11, 11.8.7, and 12.3.2.

Title
vm2: NodeVM builtin allowlist bypass via `module` builtin's `Module._load` allows sandbox escape
Summary
vm2 is an open source vm/sandbox for Node.js. Prior to 3.11.0, NodeVM's builtin allowlist can be bypassed when the module builtin is allowed (including via the '*' wildcard). The module builtin exposes Node's Module._load(), which loads any module by name directly in the host context, completely bypassing vm2's builtin restriction. This allows sandboxed code to load excluded builtins like child_process and achieve remote code execution. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.11.0.

Prior to 3.11.0, NodeVM\u0027s builtin allowlist can be bypassed when the module builtin is allowed (including via the \u0027*\u0027 wildcard). The module builtin exposes Node\u0027s Module._load(), which loads any module by name directly in the host context, completely bypassing vm2\u0027s builtin restriction. This allows sandboxed code to load excluded builtins like child_process and achieve remote code execution. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.11.0."

Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • Divide the product into anonymous, normal, privileged, and administrative areas. Reduce the attack surface by carefully mapping roles with data and functionality. Use role-based access control (RBAC) [REF-229] to enforce the roles at the appropriate boundaries.
  • Note that this approach may not protect against horizontal authorization, i.e., it will not protect a user from attacking others with the same role.
Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Ensure that access control checks are performed related to the business logic. These checks may be different than the access control checks that are applied to more generic resources such as files, connections, processes, memory, and database records. For example, a database may restrict access for medical records to a specific database user, but each record might only be intended to be accessible to the patient and the patient's doctor [REF-7].

Mitigation MIT-4.4
Architecture and Design

Strategy: Libraries or Frameworks

  • Use a vetted library or framework that does not allow this weakness to occur or provides constructs that make this weakness easier to avoid.
  • For example, consider using authorization frameworks such as the JAAS Authorization Framework [REF-233] and the OWASP ESAPI Access Control feature [REF-45].
Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • For web applications, make sure that the access control mechanism is enforced correctly at the server side on every page. Users should not be able to access any unauthorized functionality or information by simply requesting direct access to that page.
  • One way to do this is to ensure that all pages containing sensitive information are not cached, and that all such pages restrict access to requests that are accompanied by an active and authenticated session token associated with a user who has the required permissions to access that page.
Mitigation
System Configuration Installation

Use the access control capabilities of your operating system and server environment and define your access control lists accordingly. Use a "default deny" policy when defining these ACLs.
