Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-04-29 23:11 – Updated: 2026-05-14 20:39Impact
A vulnerability in datastore_search_sql allowed attackers to inject SQL in order to gain access to private resources and PostgreSQL system information.
Patches
The issue has been patched in CKAN 2.10.10 and CKAN 2.11.5
Workarounds
Disable the DataStore SQL search (ckan.datastore.sqlsearch.enabled = false). Note that the SQL search is disabled by default.
More information
As stated in the documentation, this action function has protections that offer some safety but are not designed to prevent all types of abuse. Depending on the sensitivity of private data in a project's DataStore and the likelihood of abuse of a consuming site, a developer may choose to disable this action function or restrict its use with a IAuthFunctions plugin.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-08-22 15:31 – Updated: 2026-08-31 18:31PasswordPusher versions v1.45.11 through v2.9.5 contain an improper authorization vulnerability in the push deletion logic. The ownership check compares @push.user against current_user; for an anonymously created push both values are nil, and Ruby evaluates nil == nil as true, so the check passes and the deletable_by_viewer restriction is never enforced. An attacker who knows only the secret URL can permanently delete an anonymous push even when the creator disabled viewer deletion and even without the passphrase. Only deployments that allow anonymous pushes (the default) are affected. The issue is fixed in v2.9.6.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-09-01 00:00 – Updated: 2022-09-07 00:01OpenShift doesn't properly verify subdomain ownership, which allows route takeover. Once a custom route is created, the user must update the DNS provider by creating a canonical name (CNAME) record (if he likes to expose this route externally). The CNAME record should point the custom domain to the OpenShift router as the alias. In a case that the CNAME is not removed when the route is not in use anymore we are dealing with a dangling route. A malicious actor may take over the route.

Mitigation
- Divide the product into anonymous, normal, privileged, and administrative areas. Reduce the attack surface by carefully mapping roles with data and functionality. Use role-based access control (RBAC) [REF-229] to enforce the roles at the appropriate boundaries.
- Note that this approach may not protect against horizontal authorization, i.e., it will not protect a user from attacking others with the same role.
Mitigation
Ensure that access control checks are performed related to the business logic. These checks may be different than the access control checks that are applied to more generic resources such as files, connections, processes, memory, and database records. For example, a database may restrict access for medical records to a specific database user, but each record might only be intended to be accessible to the patient and the patient's doctor [REF-7].
Mitigation MIT-4.4
Strategy: Libraries or Frameworks
- Use a vetted library or framework that does not allow this weakness to occur or provides constructs that make this weakness easier to avoid.
- For example, consider using authorization frameworks such as the JAAS Authorization Framework [REF-233] and the OWASP ESAPI Access Control feature [REF-45].
Mitigation
- For web applications, make sure that the access control mechanism is enforced correctly at the server side on every page. Users should not be able to access any unauthorized functionality or information by simply requesting direct access to that page.
- One way to do this is to ensure that all pages containing sensitive information are not cached, and that all such pages restrict access to requests that are accompanied by an active and authenticated session token associated with a user who has the required permissions to access that page.
Mitigation
Use the access control capabilities of your operating system and server environment and define your access control lists accordingly. Use a "default deny" policy when defining these ACLs.
No CAPEC attack patterns related to this CWE.
