Title
Risky Commands Safeguards Bypass through Splunk Web in Splunk Enterprise
Summary
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, a user who holds the "power" Splunk role could store risky Search Processing Language (SPL) commands in a Table Editor dataset and share the dataset. A user who holds the "admin" Splunk role triggers the commands when that user opens the dataset in the Table Editor. The commands run using the permissions of the second user and could expose all relevant data and modify lookup files. The vulnerability is possible because the Table Editor does not apply SPL safeguards for risky commands to the field-summary search that it runs for the Initial Data step. The vulnerability requires the attacker to phish the affected user by tricking them into initiating a request within their browser. The user who holds the "power" Splunk role should not be able to exploit the vulnerability at will. For more information see SPL safeguards for risky commands (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/administer/manage-users-and-security/10.2/best-practices-for-splunk-platform-security/spl-safeguards-for-risky-commands) and Define roles on the Splunk platform with capabilities (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/administer/manage-users-and-security/10.2/manage-splunk-platform-users-and-roles/define-roles-on-the-splunk-platform-with-capabilities) in the Splunk documentation.

Title
Risky Commands Safeguards Bypass through Table Editor Dataset Initial Data in Splunk Enterprise
Summary
In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, a user who holds the "power" Splunk role could store attacker-controlled Search Processing Language (SPL) in a Table Editor dataset and share the dataset. A user who holds the "admin" Splunk role triggers the SPL when that user opens the dataset in the Table Editor. The SPL runs using the permissions of the second user and could expose all relevant data and modify limited data on the search head. The vulnerability is possible because the Table Editor does not apply SPL safeguards for risky commands when it prepares the dataset initial data. The vulnerability requires the attacker to phish the affected user by tricking them into initiating a request within their browser. The user who holds the "power" Splunk role should not be able to exploit the vulnerability at will. Title
stigmem before 0.9.0a12 Cross-Tenant BOLA via decay sweep
Summary
stigmem versions before 0.9.0a12 contain a broken object level authorization vulnerability in the decay sweep endpoint that allows authenticated attackers with write credentials for one tenant to execute decay operations affecting all tenants. Attackers can submit POST requests to the decay sweep endpoint with ttl_seconds=0 to expire facts across all tenants, or use dry_run to obtain cross-tenant fact counts and existence information.

Title
Master Addons for Elementor <= 3.1.9 - Incorrect Authorization to Authenticated (Editor+) Arbitrary File Upload via upload_template_kit AJAX ZIP Extraction
Summary
The Master Addons for Elementor – Elementor Addons, Widgets, Mega Menu Builder, Popup Builder, Widget Builder & Template Kits plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Arbitrary File Upload in all versions up to, and including, 3.1.9 via the upload_template_kit function. This is due to incorrect authorization on the upload_template_kit() AJAX handler, which requires only upload_files capability instead of the manage_options required by all sibling handlers, combined with missing per-entry file type filtering after ZIP extraction. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with editor-level access and above, to upload files that may be executable, which makes remote code execution possible. Editors can satisfy the nonce requirement because the required nonces are localized on the standard Pages list screen, which is accessible to any user with the edit_pages capability.

Title
OAuth token exchange grants repository scopes for organizations the principal cannot access
Summary
Incorrect Authorization vulnerability in the OAuth token endpoint in hexpm hexpm allows an API key holding the repositories permission to read another organization's private packages. When an API key is exchanged for a token through the OAuth client_credentials grant, validate_scopes_against_key/2 in lib/hexpm_web/controllers/api/oauth_controller.ex admits a requested scope whenever the key carries the repositories permission and the scope string begins with repository:. The organization name is never resolved against the principal, and expand_repositories_scope/3 only rewrites the literal repositories scope, so an explicit repository:<name> passes through untouched. Both CDN edges authorize repository access from the token claim without querying the database, so the minted token is read access to that organization's private packages until it expires. This issue affects hex.pm: from 2025-10-18 before 2026-08-24.

Title
OpenViking Debug Vector Endpoints Multi-tenant Data Exposure
Summary
OpenViking debug vector scroll and count endpoints apply only account-level scoping without user-level access controls, allowing authenticated users to read all co-tenant records. Attackers can query these endpoints to retrieve private memories, resources, skills, and secret material belonging to other users in the same account without administrative privileges.

Title
inets, httpd: Authentication Bypass via Directory Namespace Collapse in httpd mod_auth
Summary
The mod_auth module in OTP's inets httpd server, when configured with dets or mnesia authentication backends and multiple directory configuration blocks, collapses all directory blocks into a single shared user/group namespace. A user added to one protected directory is accepted as valid for all other protected directories on the same server instance. This issue affects OTP from OTP 17.0 before OTP 27.3.4.17, from OTP 28.0 before OTP 28.5.0.6, and from OTP 29.0 before OTP 29.0.6, corresponding to inets from 5.10 before 9.3.2.7, from 9.4 before 9.6.2.3, and from 9.7 before 9.7.2. Whether OTP before OTP 17.0, corresponding to inets before 5.10, is affected is unknown.

Title
SiYuan before v3.7.4 Incorrect Authorization via Publish Access
Summary
SiYuan before v3.7.4 contains an incorrect authorization vulnerability in eight publish-mode reader-facing endpoints that filter results using the visibility list instead of the disabled list. Anonymous visitors can discover and read content from documents explicitly marked as forbidden from publishing by accessing search, backlink, asset content, saved criteria, recent documents, graph, and tag endpoints.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • Divide the product into anonymous, normal, privileged, and administrative areas. Reduce the attack surface by carefully mapping roles with data and functionality. Use role-based access control (RBAC) [REF-229] to enforce the roles at the appropriate boundaries.
  • Note that this approach may not protect against horizontal authorization, i.e., it will not protect a user from attacking others with the same role.
Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Ensure that access control checks are performed related to the business logic. These checks may be different than the access control checks that are applied to more generic resources such as files, connections, processes, memory, and database records. For example, a database may restrict access for medical records to a specific database user, but each record might only be intended to be accessible to the patient and the patient's doctor [REF-7].

Mitigation MIT-4.4
Architecture and Design

Strategy: Libraries or Frameworks

  • Use a vetted library or framework that does not allow this weakness to occur or provides constructs that make this weakness easier to avoid.
  • For example, consider using authorization frameworks such as the JAAS Authorization Framework [REF-233] and the OWASP ESAPI Access Control feature [REF-45].
Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • For web applications, make sure that the access control mechanism is enforced correctly at the server side on every page. Users should not be able to access any unauthorized functionality or information by simply requesting direct access to that page.
  • One way to do this is to ensure that all pages containing sensitive information are not cached, and that all such pages restrict access to requests that are accompanied by an active and authenticated session token associated with a user who has the required permissions to access that page.
Mitigation
System Configuration Installation

Use the access control capabilities of your operating system and server environment and define your access control lists accordingly. Use a "default deny" policy when defining these ACLs.
