Title
Admidio: Any logged-in user can delete inventory fields via `mode=field_delete` — incomplete fix of #2024
Summary
Admidio is an open-source user management solution. Version 5.0.9 added a missing `isAdministratorInventory()` gate to `case 'item_delete':` in `modules/inventory.php`. The same fix was not applied to the sibling `case 'field_delete':` handler, which destroys an entire inventory field definition, cascading to every `adm_inventory_item_data` row that referenced that field and every `adm_inventory_field_options` entry. The handler validates only a session-bound CSRF token; there is no `isAdministratorInventory()` check at the controller level, and `Admidio\Inventory\Entity\ItemField::delete()` does not enforce one at the entity level either (unlike its sibling `ItemField::save()`, which does check `$gCurrentUser->isAdministrator()`). Any user who can log in to the site can permanently destroy a non-system inventory field by sending one POST. Version 5.0.10 provides an updated fix.

Title
Admidio: Authorization bypass in file_delete enables cross-folder file removal by authenticated users without delete privileges
Summary
Admidio is an open-source user management solution. Prior to version 5.0.10, an authenticated Admidio member with upload rights on any one folder can permanently delete files from folders where they have only view access. The authorization check at the top of `modules/documents-files.php` evaluates upload rights against the attacker-supplied `folder_uuid` URL parameter — not the file's actual parent folder. The `file_delete` handler then only verifies view rights on the file's real location, never upload rights. By passing a folder they legitimately own in `folder_uuid` while targeting a file in a restricted folder via `file_uuid`, an attacker bypasses the upload-right check entirely and permanently deletes the file. This is an incomplete fix of GHSA-rmpj-3x5m-9m5f, which was patched in v5.0.7 but remains exploitable in v5.0.9. User should upgrade to v5.0.10 to receive an updated fix.

Title
Quest Bot: Discord moderation role hierarchy bypass in ban, kick, mute, unmute, warn, and nickname commands
Summary
Quest Bot is an opensource Discord Bot. Prior to version 1.1.6, a moderator with the relevant Discord permission bit can use the bot to moderate users above them in the Discord role hierarchy, as long as the bot itself outranks the target. This bypasses Discord’s normal role hierarchy protections and lets lower-ranked moderators ban, kick, timeout, untimeout, warn, or rename higher-ranked users. This issue has been patched in version 1.1.6.

Title
Quest Bot: Unprivileged users can create and remove AutoMod rules.
Summary
Quest Bot is an opensource modern Discord Bot built for moderation, utilities and support. Prior to version 1.0.1, any guild member who can invoke slash commands can use /automod add, /automod remove, and /automod list because the command has no Discord default permission requirement and no runtime moderator permission check. An attacker can add a rule matching common text and make the bot delete other users’ messages. This issue has been patched in version 1.0.1.

Title
NextCRM has Broken Access Control in Server Actions that allows any authenticated user to deactivate/activate arbitrary accounts
Summary
NextCRM is open-source customer relationship management (CRM) software. Versions prior to 0.12.0 have a Broken Access Control (BAC) vulnerability in the `activateUser` and `deactivateUser` Next.js Server Actions of NextCRM. The application fails to verify if the requesting user holds the `admin` role. Consequently, any authenticated user (even those with the lowest `member` or `viewer` roles) can arbitrarily activate or deactivate any user account in the system, including the main administrator. Version 0.12.0 fixes the issue.

Title
Ghostfolio has a Stripe subscription bypass
Summary
Ghostfolio is an open source wealth management software. Prior to version 3.4.0, Ghostfolio's Stripe checkout success-URL handler at `GET /api/v1/subscription/stripe/callback?checkoutSessionId=<id>` retrieves the Stripe Checkout Session by ID and unconditionally grants a Premium subscription to the session's `client_reference_id` — without ever checking `session.payment_status` or `session.status`. There is no separate Stripe webhook endpoint with `stripe-signature` verification; this callback is the sole code path that creates Stripe-driven subscriptions. Any authenticated user can self-grant a 1-year Premium subscription without ever paying. Version 3.4.0 rejects sessions unless `session.payment_status === 'paid'` AND `session.status === 'complete'` (fails closed). Additionally, new unique `stripeCheckoutSessionId` column → a session can't be redeemed twice (race-safe via DB unique constraint).

Title
Arcane: Missing admin authorization on global variables endpoint
Summary
Arcane is an interface for managing Docker containers, images, networks, and volumes. Prior to 1.19.2, the PUT /api/environments/{id}/templates/variables endpoint, which writes the system-wide .env.global file used for variable substitution in every project's compose file, is missing an admin authorization check. Any authenticated non-admin user can call this endpoint with their bearer token or API key and overwrite the global environment variables that are merged into every project deployment. By overriding values like REGISTRY, IMAGE, DATABASE_URL, or SECRET_KEY that other users reference via ${VAR} in compose files, an attacker can redirect image pulls to attacker-controlled registries (supply-chain RCE on the Docker host), exfiltrate database credentials, or disrupt all projects. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.19.2.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • Divide the product into anonymous, normal, privileged, and administrative areas. Reduce the attack surface by carefully mapping roles with data and functionality. Use role-based access control (RBAC) [REF-229] to enforce the roles at the appropriate boundaries.
  • Note that this approach may not protect against horizontal authorization, i.e., it will not protect a user from attacking others with the same role.
Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Ensure that access control checks are performed related to the business logic. These checks may be different than the access control checks that are applied to more generic resources such as files, connections, processes, memory, and database records. For example, a database may restrict access for medical records to a specific database user, but each record might only be intended to be accessible to the patient and the patient's doctor [REF-7].

Mitigation MIT-4.4
Architecture and Design

Strategy: Libraries or Frameworks

  • Use a vetted library or framework that does not allow this weakness to occur or provides constructs that make this weakness easier to avoid.
  • For example, consider using authorization frameworks such as the JAAS Authorization Framework [REF-233] and the OWASP ESAPI Access Control feature [REF-45].
Mitigation
Architecture and Design
  • For web applications, make sure that the access control mechanism is enforced correctly at the server side on every page. Users should not be able to access any unauthorized functionality or information by simply requesting direct access to that page.
  • One way to do this is to ensure that all pages containing sensitive information are not cached, and that all such pages restrict access to requests that are accompanied by an active and authenticated session token associated with a user who has the required permissions to access that page.
Mitigation
System Configuration Installation

Use the access control capabilities of your operating system and server environment and define your access control lists accordingly. Use a "default deny" policy when defining these ACLs.

CAPEC-665: Exploitation of Thunderbolt Protection Flaws

An adversary leverages a firmware weakness within the Thunderbolt protocol, on a computing device to manipulate Thunderbolt controller firmware in order to exploit vulnerabilities in the implementation of authorization and verification schemes within Thunderbolt protection mechanisms. Upon gaining physical access to a target device, the adversary conducts high-level firmware manipulation of the victim Thunderbolt controller SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) flash, through the use of a SPI Programing device and an external Thunderbolt device, typically as the target device is booting up. If successful, this allows the adversary to modify memory, subvert authentication mechanisms, spoof identities and content, and extract data and memory from the target device. Currently 7 major vulnerabilities exist within Thunderbolt protocol with 9 attack vectors as noted in the Execution Flow.
