Advisory FAQ
How do I know if I am affected?
If using a package listed in affected packages, you're exposed to the vulnerability.
How do I fix the issue?
- To fix the issue please install the latest version of .NET. If you have installed one or more .NET SDKs through Visual Studio, Visual Studio will prompt you to update Visual Studio, which will also update your .NET SDKs.
- If your application references the vulnerable package, update the package reference to the patched version. You can list the versions you have installed by running the
dotnet --infocommand.
Once you have installed the updated runtime or SDK, restart your apps for the update to take effect.
Additionally, if you've deployed self-contained applications targeting any of the impacted versions, these applications are also vulnerable and must be recompiled and redeployed.
Other Information
Reporting Security Issues

name="how-affected">How do I know if I am affected?

If using a package listed in [affected packages](#affected-packages), you're exposed to the vulnerability.

### How do I fix the issue?

1. To fix the issue please install the latest version of .NET. If you have installed one or more .NET SDKs through Visual Studio, Visual Studio will prompt you to update Visual Studio, which will also update your .NET SDKs.
2. If your application references the vulnerable package, update the package reference to the patched version. You can list the versions you have installed by running the `dotnet --info` command.

Once you have installed the updated runtime or SDK, restart your apps for the update to take effect.

Additionally, if you've deployed [self-contained applications](https://docs.microsoft.com/dotnet/core/deploying/#self-contained-deployments-scd) targeting any of the impacted versions, these applications are also vulnerable and must be recompiled and redeployed.

## Other Information

### Reporting Security Issues

If you have found a potential security issue in a supported version of .NET, please report it to the Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC) via the [MSRC Researcher Portal](https://msrc.microsoft.com/report/vulnerability/new). Further information can be found in the MSRC [Report an Issue FAQ](https://www.microsoft.com/msrc/faqs-report-an-issue).

Security reports made through MSRC may qualify for the Microsoft .NET Bounty. Details of the Microsoft .NET Bounty Program including terms and conditions are at https://aka.ms/corebounty.

### Support

You can ask questions about this issue on GitHub in the .NET GitHub organization. The main repos are located at https://github.com/dotnet/runtime. The Announcements repo (https://github.com/dotnet/Announcements) will contain this bulletin as an issue and will include a link to a discussion issue. You can ask questions in the linked discussion issue.

### Disclaimer

The information provided in this advisory is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. GHSA-XGP3-243G-WXVM
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-09-11 00:31 – Updated: 2026-09-11 00:31Concrete CMS below 9.5.3 stores user validation hashes for multiple purposes (email/registration validation, password reset, and persistent login) in a single table with a type column, but the redemption path resolves a hash by value alone and does not verify its type. As a result, a hash issued for one purpose can be redeemed for another: a long-lived registration hash (60-day expiry) can be submitted to the password-change endpoint to set a new password on the target account, and a password-reset hash can be submitted to the email-validation endpoint to activate an account. Exploitation requires the attacker to first obtain a valid hash through a separate channel (for example email interception, log exposure, or SSRF against an internal mail relay), so the flaw amplifies the impact of any hash disclosure rather than creating a standalone entry point. The Concrete CMS security team gave this vulnerability a CVSS v4.0 score of 6.3 with vector CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:H/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:L/VI:L/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N. Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-05-24 19:04 – Updated: 2022-05-24 19:04Seceon aiSIEM before 6.3.2 (build 585) is prone to an unauthenticated account takeover vulnerability in the Forgot Password feature. The lack of correct configuration leads to recovery of the password reset link generated via the password reset functionality, and thus an unauthenticated attacker can set an arbitrary password for any user.

Mitigation
Make sure that all input supplied by the user to the password recovery mechanism is thoroughly filtered and validated.
Mitigation
Do not use standard weak security questions and use several security questions.
Mitigation
Make sure that there is throttling on the number of incorrect answers to a security question. Disable the password recovery functionality after a certain (small) number of incorrect guesses.
Mitigation
Require that the user properly answers the security question prior to resetting their password and sending the new password to the e-mail address of record.
Mitigation
Never allow the user to control what e-mail address the new password will be sent to in the password recovery mechanism.
Mitigation
Assign a new temporary password rather than revealing the original password.
CAPEC-50: Password Recovery Exploitation
An attacker may take advantage of the application feature to help users recover their forgotten passwords in order to gain access into the system with the same privileges as the original user. Generally password recovery schemes tend to be weak and insecure.
