GHSA-6VFR-P2HX-6V32
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-01-19 09:30 – Updated: 2026-01-21 01:03When org.apache.linkis.metadata.util.HiveUtils.decode() fails to perform Base64 decoding, it records the complete input parameter string in the log via logger.error(str + "decode failed", e). If the input parameter contains sensitive information such as Hive Metastore keys, plaintext passwords will be left in the log files when decoding fails, resulting in information leakage.
Affected Scope Component: Sensitive fields in hive-site.xml (e.g., javax.jdo.option.ConnectionPassword) or other fields encoded in Base64. Version: Apache Linkis 1.0.0 – 1.7.0
Trigger Conditions The value of the configuration item is an invalid Base64 string. Log files are readable by users other than hive-site.xml administrators.
Severity: Low The probability of Base64 decoding failure is low. The leakage is only triggered when logs at the Error level are exposed.
Remediation Apache Linkis 1.8.0 and later versions have replaced the log with desensitized content. logger.error("URL decode failed: {}", e.getMessage()); // 不再输出 str
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 1.8.0, which fixes the issue.

GHSA-6W87-G839-9WV7
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2021-05-21 14:31 – Updated: 2021-10-05 16:35Impact
When Argo CD was connected to a Helm OCI repository with authentication enabled, the credentials used for accessing the remote repository were logged.
Anyone with access to the pod logs - either via access with appropriate permissions to the Kubernetes control plane or a third party log management system where the logs from Argo CD were aggregated - could have potentially obtained the credentials to the Helm OCI repository.
If you are using Helm OCI repositories with Argo CD, it is strongly recommended to upgrade Argo CD to the latest patch version and to change the credentials used to access the repositories.
Patches
A patch for this vulnerability is available with the v1.8.7 and v1.7.14 releases of Argo CD.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2023-12-13 09:30 – Updated: 2023-12-13 09:30An issue was discovered by Elastic whereby sensitive information may be recorded in Kibana logs in the event of an error. Elastic has released Kibana 8.11.1 which resolves this issue. The error message recorded in the log may contain account credentials for the kibana_system user, API Keys, and credentials of Kibana end-users. The issue occurs infrequently, only if an error is returned from an Elasticsearch cluster, in cases where there is user interaction and an unhealthy cluster (for example, when returning circuit breaker or no shard exceptions).

Mitigation
Consider seriously the sensitivity of the information written into log files. Do not write secrets into the log files.
Mitigation
Remove debug log files before deploying the application into production.
Mitigation
Protect log files against unauthorized read/write.
Mitigation
Adjust configurations appropriately when software is transitioned from a debug state to production.
CAPEC-215: Fuzzing for application mapping
An attacker sends random, malformed, or otherwise unexpected messages to a target application and observes the application's log or error messages returned. The attacker does not initially know how a target will respond to individual messages but by attempting a large number of message variants they may find a variant that trigger's desired behavior. In this attack, the purpose of the fuzzing is to observe the application's log and error messages, although fuzzing a target can also sometimes cause the target to enter an unstable state, causing a crash.
