Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-06-24 18:32 – Updated: 2026-07-21 18:30
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

drm/bridge: cadence: cdns-mhdp8546-core: Set the mhdp connector earlier in atomic_enable()

In case if we get errors in cdns_mhdp_link_up() or cdns_mhdp_reg_read() in atomic_enable, we will go to cdns_mhdp_modeset_retry_fn() and will hit NULL pointer while trying to access the mutex. We need the connector to be set before that. Unlike in legacy cases with flag !DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR, we do not have connector initialised in bridge_attach(), so add the mhdp->connector_ptr in device structure to handle both cases with DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR and !DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR, set it in atomic_enable() earlier to avoid possible NULL pointer dereference in recovery paths like modeset_retry_fn() with the DRM_BRIDGE_ATTACH_NO_CONNECTOR flag set.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-05-24 22:13 – Updated: 2022-05-24 22:13

Summary
Missing validation results in undefined behavior in `SparseTensorDenseAdd
Details

Impact

The implementation of tf.raw_ops.SparseTensorDenseAdd does not fully validate the input arguments:

import tensorflow as tf

a_indices = tf.constant(0, shape=[17, 2], dtype=tf.int64)
a_values = tf.constant([], shape=[0], dtype=tf.float32)
a_shape = tf.constant([6, 12], shape=[2], dtype=tf.int64)

b = tf.constant(-0.223668531, shape=[6, 12], dtype=tf.float32)

tf.raw_ops.SparseTensorDenseAdd(
    a_indices=a_indices, a_values=a_values, a_shape=a_shape, b=b)

In this case, a reference gets bound to a nullptr during kernel execution. This is UB.

Patches

We have patched the issue in GitHub commit 11ced8467eccad9c7cb94867708be8fa5c66c730.

The fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.9.0. We will also cherrypick this commit on TensorFlow 2.8.1, TensorFlow 2.7.2, and TensorFlow 2.6.4, as these are also affected and still in supported range.

Please consult our security guide for more information regarding the security model and how to contact us with issues and questions.

Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

nvmet-tcp: don't restore null sk_state_change

queue->state_change is set as part of nvmet_tcp_set_queue_sock(), but if the TCP connection isn't established when nvmet_tcp_set_queue_sock() is called then queue->state_change isn't set and sock->sk->sk_state_change isn't replaced.

As such we don't need to restore sock->sk->sk_state_change if queue->state_change is NULL.

This avoids NULL pointer dereferences such as this:

The package muhammara before 2.6.0; all versions of package hummus are vulnerable to Denial of Service (DoS) when supplied with a maliciously crafted PDF file to be appended to another.

Patches

It has been patched in 2.6.0 for muhammara and not at all for hummus

Workarounds

Do not process files from untrusted sources

Outline differences to https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2022-25892

The difference is one is in src/deps/PDFWriter/PDFParser.cpp and the other is PDFDocumentHandler.cpp both is a null pointer but for different cases These are totally diffent issues, one is in reading a pdf the other is in appendending a maliciously crafted one. The function calls are different the versions in which they are solved are diffent.

Details

The get_endpoints function in drivers/usb/misc/usbtest.c in the Linux kernel through 4.13.11 allows local users to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and system crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted USB device.

Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

drm/amdkfd: debugfs hang_hws skip GPU with MES

debugfs hang_hws is used by GPU reset test with HWS, for MES this crash the kernel with NULL pointer access because dqm->packet_mgr is not setup for MES path.

Skip GPU with MES for now, MES hang_hws debugfs interface will be supported later.

GHSA-RF58-PP6R-5653

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-10-21 18:30 – Updated: 2025-11-04 00:31
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

gso: fix udp gso fraglist segmentation after pull from frag_list

Detect gso fraglist skbs with corrupted geometry (see below) and pass these to skb_segment instead of skb_segment_list, as the first can segment them correctly.

Valid SKB_GSO_FRAGLIST skbs - consist of two or more segments - the head_skb holds the protocol headers plus first gso_size - one or more frag_list skbs hold exactly one segment - all but the last must be gso_size

Optional datapath hooks such as NAT and BPF (bpf_skb_pull_data) can modify these skbs, breaking these invariants.

In extreme cases they pull all data into skb linear. For UDP, this causes a NULL ptr deref in __udpv4_gso_segment_list_csum at udp_hdr(seg->next)->dest.

Detect invalid geometry due to pull, by checking head_skb size. Don't just drop, as this may blackhole a destination. Convert to be able to pass to regular skb_segment.

Details

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in D-Link DAP-1562 1.10. This affects the function pure_auth_check of the component HTTP POST Request Handler. The manipulation of the argument a1 leads to null pointer dereference. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. This vulnerability only affects products that are no longer supported by the maintainer.

Mitigation MIT-56
Implementation

For any pointers that could have been modified or provided from a function that can return NULL, check the pointer for NULL before use. When working with a multithreaded or otherwise asynchronous environment, ensure that proper locking APIs are used to lock before the check, and unlock when it has finished [REF-1484].

Mitigation
Requirements

Select a programming language that is not susceptible to these issues.

Mitigation
Implementation

Check the results of all functions that return a value and verify that the value is non-null before acting upon it.

Mitigation
Architecture and Design

Identify all variables and data stores that receive information from external sources, and apply input validation to make sure that they are only initialized to expected values.

Mitigation
Implementation

Explicitly initialize all variables and other data stores, either during declaration or just before the first usage.

No CAPEC attack patterns related to this CWE.
