GHSA-3QGV-QJ84-5MMH
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-03-25 12:30 – Updated: 2026-07-14 15:31In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ipv6: fix NULL pointer deref in ip6_rt_get_dev_rcu()
l3mdev_master_dev_rcu() can return NULL when the slave device is being un-slaved from a VRF. All other callers deal with this, but we lost the fallback to loopback in ip6_rt_pcpu_alloc() -> ip6_rt_get_dev_rcu() with commit 4832c30d5458 ("net: ipv6: put host and anycast routes on device with address").
KASAN: null-ptr-deref in range [0x0000000000000108-0x000000000000010f] RIP: 0010:ip6_rt_pcpu_alloc (net/ipv6/route.c:1418) Call Trace: ip6_pol_route (net/ipv6/route.c:2318) fib6_rule_lookup (net/ipv6/fib6_rules.c:115) ip6_route_output_flags (net/ipv6/route.c:2607) vrf_process_v6_outbound (drivers/net/vrf.c:437)
I was tempted to rework the un-slaving code to clear the flag first and insert synchronize_rcu() before we remove the upper. But looks like the explicit fallback to loopback_dev is an established pattern. And I guess avoiding the synchronize_rcu() is nice, too.

GHSA-3QR9-G9F2-22XH
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-05-21 18:31 – Updated: 2025-01-31 18:31In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/bridge: lt8912b: Fix crash on bridge detach
The lt8912b driver, in its bridge detach function, calls drm_connector_unregister() and drm_connector_cleanup().
drm_connector_unregister() should be called only for connectors explicitly registered with drm_connector_register(), which is not the case in lt8912b.
The driver's drm_connector_funcs.destroy hook is set to drm_connector_cleanup().
Thus the driver should not call either drm_connector_unregister() nor drm_connector_cleanup() in its lt8912_bridge_detach(), as they cause a crash on bridge detach:

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-08-19 18:31 – Updated: 2026-04-18 09:30In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ksmbd: fix null pointer dereference error in generate_encryptionkey
If client send two session setups with krb5 authenticate to ksmbd, null pointer dereference error in generate_encryptionkey could happen. sess->Preauth_HashValue is set to NULL if session is valid. So this patch skip generate encryption key if session is valid.

GHSA-3QX4-PQ69-7JWX
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-05-01 15:31 – Updated: 2025-11-04 21:31In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
net: ti: icss-iep: Fix possible NULL pointer dereference for perout request
The ICSS IEP driver tracks perout and pps enable state with flags. Currently when disabling pps and perout signals during icss_iep_exit(), results in NULL pointer dereference for perout.
To fix the null pointer dereference issue, the icss_iep_perout_enable_hw function can be modified to directly clear the IEP CMP registers when disabling PPS or PEROUT, without referencing the ptp_perout_request structure, as its contents are irrelevant in this case.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-05-24 16:44 – Updated: 2024-04-04 00:14The EAP-pwd implementation in hostapd (EAP server) before 2.8 and wpa_supplicant (EAP peer) before 2.8 does not validate fragmentation reassembly state properly for a case where an unexpected fragment could be received. This could result in process termination due to a NULL pointer dereference (denial of service). This affects eap_server/eap_server_pwd.c and eap_peer/eap_pwd.c.

Mitigation MIT-56
For any pointers that could have been modified or provided from a function that can return NULL, check the pointer for NULL before use. When working with a multithreaded or otherwise asynchronous environment, ensure that proper locking APIs are used to lock before the check, and unlock when it has finished [REF-1484].
Mitigation
Select a programming language that is not susceptible to these issues.
Mitigation
Check the results of all functions that return a value and verify that the value is non-null before acting upon it.
Mitigation
Identify all variables and data stores that receive information from external sources, and apply input validation to make sure that they are only initialized to expected values.
Mitigation
Explicitly initialize all variables and other data stores, either during declaration or just before the first usage.
No CAPEC attack patterns related to this CWE.
