Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-05-24 17:12 – Updated: 2022-05-24 17:12An exploitable denial-of-service vulnerability exists in the resource allocation handling of Videolabs libmicrodns 0.1.0. When encountering errors while parsing mDNS messages, some allocated data is not freed, possibly leading to a denial-of-service condition via resource exhaustion. An attacker can send one mDNS message repeatedly to trigger this vulnerability through the function rr_read_RR [5] reads the current resource record, except for the RDATA section. This is read by the loop at in rr_read. For each RR type, a different function is called. When the RR type is 0x10, the function rr_read_TXT is called at [6].

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-04-17 18:31 – Updated: 2024-04-29 21:30In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/nouveau: fix several DMA buffer leaks
Nouveau manages GSP-RM DMA buffers with nvkm_gsp_mem objects. Several of these buffers are never dealloced. Some of them can be deallocated right after GSP-RM is initialized, but the rest need to stay until the driver unloads.
Also futher bullet-proof these objects by poisoning the buffer and clearing the nvkm_gsp_mem object when it is deallocated. Poisoning the buffer should trigger an error (or crash) from GSP-RM if it tries to access the buffer after we've deallocated it, because we were wrong about when it is safe to deallocate.
Finally, change the mem->size field to a size_t because that's the same type that dma_alloc_coherent expects.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-01-20 00:01 – Updated: 2022-02-02 00:02A Missing Release of Memory after Effective Lifetime vulnerability in the Layer-2 control protocols daemon (l2cpd) of Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows an unauthenticated adjacent attacker to cause a memory leak. Continued exploitation can lead to memory exhaustion and thereby a Denial of Service (DoS). This issue occurs when specific LLDP packets are received. The impact of the l2cpd cores is that if any of the stp protocols (rstp, mstp or vstp) is used then stp re-converges and traffic loss will occur during that time. Also if any services depend on LLDP state (like PoE or VoIP device recognition) then these will also be affected. The memory utilization of the L2CPd process can be monitored with the following command: user@host> show system processes extensive | match l2cpd 1234 root 52 0 521M 43412K RUN 1 4:02 34.47% l2cpd This issue affects: Juniper Networks Junos OS 18.4 version 18.4R2-S4 and later versions prior to 18.4R2-S10. 19.2 versions prior to 19.2R1-S8, 19.2R3-S4; 19.3 versions prior to 19.3R3-S5; 19.4 versions prior to 19.4R3-S7; 20.1 versions prior to 20.1R3-S3; 20.2 versions prior to 20.2R3-S2; 20.3 versions prior to 20.3R3-S1; 20.4 versions prior to 20.4R3; 21.1 versions prior to 21.1R2-S2, 21.1R3; 21.2 versions prior to 21.2R2; Juniper Networks Junos OS Evolved All versions prior to 20.4R3-S2-EVO; 21.1 version 21.1R1-EVO and later versions; 21.2 versions prior to 21.2R2-EVO. GHSA-V6JM-7R7P-9979
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-01-08 18:30 – Updated: 2025-11-03 21:32In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nfsd: fix nfs4_openowner leak when concurrent nfsd4_open occur
The action force umount(umount -f) will attempt to kill all rpc_task even umount operation may ultimately fail if some files remain open. Consequently, if an action attempts to open a file, it can potentially send two rpc_task to nfs server.
NFS CLIENT
thread1 thread2 open("file") ... nfs4_do_open _nfs4_do_open _nfs4_open_and_get_state _nfs4_proc_open nfs4_run_open_task / rpc_task1 / rpc_run_task rpc_wait_for_completion_task

rpc_signal_task
rpc_task1 been wakeup
and return -512
_nfs4_do_open // while loop ... nfs4_run_open_task / rpc_task2 / rpc_run_task rpc_wait_for_completion_task
While processing an open request, nfsd will first attempt to find or allocate an nfs4_openowner. If it finds an nfs4_openowner that is not marked as NFS4_OO_CONFIRMED, this nfs4_openowner will released. Since two rpc_task can attempt to open the same file simultaneously from the client to server, and because two instances of nfsd can run concurrently, this situation can lead to lots of memory leak. Additionally, when we echo 0 to /proc/fs/nfsd/threads, warning will be triggered.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-01-11 15:30 – Updated: 2025-09-24 21:30In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
virt: tdx-guest: Just leak decrypted memory on unrecoverable errors
In CoCo VMs it is possible for the untrusted host to cause set_memory_decrypted() to fail such that an error is returned and the resulting memory is shared. Callers need to take care to handle these errors to avoid returning decrypted (shared) memory to the page allocator, which could lead to functional or security issues.
Leak the decrypted memory when set_memory_decrypted() fails, and don't need to print an error since set_memory_decrypted() will call WARN_ONCE().

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-08-24 12:31 – Updated: 2026-08-24 12:31Micrometer-instrumented Apache HttpAsyncClient (4.x or 5.x) usage via MicrometerHttpClientInterceptor can leak memory unboundedly when asynchronous requests fail before receiving a response (e.g. connection resets or timeouts). Tracking state for these requests remains in memory indefinitely, and sustained failures lead to heap exhaustion and OutOfMemoryError crashes.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-06-20 12:31 – Updated: 2024-10-30 18:30In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KVM: x86: Free kvm_cpuid_entry2 array on post-KVM_RUN KVM_SET_CPUID{,2}
Free the "struct kvm_cpuid_entry2" array on successful post-KVM_RUN KVM_SET_CPUID{,2} to fix a memory leak, the callers of kvm_set_cpuid() free the array only on failure.

GHSA-V7XJ-X69J-92C7
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-05-24 17:35 – Updated: 2022-05-24 17:35in SetImageExtent() of /MagickCore/image.c, an incorrect image depth size can cause a memory leak because the code which checks for the proper image depth size does not reset the size in the event there is an invalid size. The patch resets the depth to a proper size before throwing an exception. The memory leak can be triggered by a crafted input file that is processed by ImageMagick and could cause an impact to application reliability, such as denial of service. This flaw affects ImageMagick versions prior to 7.0.9-0.

Mitigation MIT-41
Strategy: Libraries or Frameworks
- Choose a language or tool that provides automatic memory management, or makes manual memory management less error-prone.
- For example, glibc in Linux provides protection against free of invalid pointers.
- When using Xcode to target OS X or iOS, enable automatic reference counting (ARC) [REF-391].
- To help correctly and consistently manage memory when programming in C++, consider using a smart pointer class such as std::auto_ptr (defined by ISO/IEC ISO/IEC 14882:2003), std::shared_ptr and std::unique_ptr (specified by an upcoming revision of the C++ standard, informally referred to as C++ 1x), or equivalent solutions such as Boost.
Mitigation
Use an abstraction library to abstract away risky APIs. Not a complete solution.
Mitigation
Consider using the Boehm-Demers-Weiser garbage collector (bdwgc), which can help avoid leaks.
No CAPEC attack patterns related to this CWE.
