GHSA-7MJH-M8R7-CJW8

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-04-03 18:30 – Updated: 2025-02-27 15:31
VLAI
Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

fbdev: sis: Error out if pixclock equals zero

The userspace program could pass any values to the driver through ioctl() interface. If the driver doesn't check the value of pixclock, it may cause divide-by-zero error.

In sisfb_check_var(), var->pixclock is used as a divisor to caculate drate before it is checked against zero. Fix this by checking it at the beginning.

This is similar to CVE-2022-3061 in i740fb which was fixed by commit 15cf0b8.

GHSA-7V94-64HJ-M82H

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2021-11-10 19:02 – Updated: 2024-11-13 21:57
VLAI
Summary
FPE in `ParallelConcat`
Details

Impact

The implementation of ParallelConcat misses some input validation and can produce a division by 0:

import tensorflow as tf

@tf.function
def test():
  y = tf.raw_ops.ParallelConcat(values=[['tf']],shape=0)
  return y

test()

Patches

We have patched the issue in GitHub commit f2c3931113eaafe9ef558faaddd48e00a6606235.

The fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.7.0. We will also cherrypick this commit on TensorFlow 2.6.1, TensorFlow 2.5.2, and TensorFlow 2.4.4, as these are also affected and still in supported range.

For more information

Please consult our security guide for more information regarding the security model and how to contact us with issues and questions.

Details

A security vulnerability has been detected in GPAC 26.03-DEV-rev342-g80071f700-master. The impacted element is the function txtin_probe_duration of the file src/filters/load_text.c of the component TeXML File Handler. Such manipulation of the argument txml_timescale leads to divide by zero. An attack has to be approached locally. The name of the patch is 86a5191f2e750c767253e27ed6cfd6d547afebc2. A patch should be applied to remediate this issue.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-04-24 15:32 – Updated: 2026-06-01 18:31

Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

fbdev: tdfxfb: avoid divide-by-zero on FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO

Much like commit 19f953e74356 ("fbdev: fb_pm2fb: Avoid potential divide by zero error"), we also need to prevent that same crash from happening in the udlfb driver as it uses pixclock directly when dividing, which will crash.

GHSA-87V6-CRGM-2GFJ

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-02-10 00:21 – Updated: 2024-11-13 22:13
VLAI
Summary
Division by zero in Tensorflow
Details

Impact

The implementation of FractionalMaxPool can be made to crash a TensorFlow process via a division by 0:

import tensorflow as tf
import numpy as np

tf.raw_ops.FractionalMaxPool(
  value=tf.constant(value=[[[[1, 4, 2, 3]]]], dtype=tf.int64),
  pooling_ratio=[1.0, 1.44, 1.73, 1.0],
  pseudo_random=False,
  overlapping=False,
  deterministic=False,
  seed=0,
  seed2=0,
  name=None)

Patches

We have patched the issue in GitHub commit ba4e8ac4dc2991e350d5cc407f8598c8d4ee70fb.

The fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.8.0. We will also cherrypick this commit on TensorFlow 2.7.1, TensorFlow 2.6.3, and TensorFlow 2.5.3, as these are also affected and still in supported range.

For more information

Please consult our security guide for more information regarding the security model and how to contact us with issues and questions.

  "details": "### Impact \nThe [implementation of `FractionalMaxPool`](https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorflow/blob/5100e359aef5c8021f2e71c7b986420b85ce7b3d/tensorflow/core/kernels/fractional_max_pool_op.cc#L36-L192) can be made to crash a TensorFlow process via a division by 0:\n\n```python\nimport tensorflow as tf\nimport numpy as np\n\ntf.raw_ops.FractionalMaxPool(\n value=tf.constant(value=[[[[1, 4, 2, 3]]]], dtype=tf.int64),\n pooling_ratio=[1.0, 1.44, 1.73, 1.0],\n pseudo_random=False,\n overlapping=False,\n deterministic=False,\n seed=0,\n seed2=0,\n name=None)\n```\n\n### Patches\nWe have patched the issue in GitHub commit [ba4e8ac4dc2991e350d5cc407f8598c8d4ee70fb](https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorflow/commit/ba4e8ac4dc2991e350d5cc407f8598c8d4ee70fb).\n\nThe fix will be included in TensorFlow 2.8.0. We will also cherrypick this commit on TensorFlow 2.7.1, TensorFlow 2.6.3, and TensorFlow 2.5.3, as these are also affected and still in supported range.\n\n### For more information\nPlease consult [our security guide](https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorflow/blob/master/SECURITY.md) for more information regarding the security model and how to contact us with issues and questions.\n\n### Attribution\nThis vulnerability has been reported by Faysal Hossain Shezan from University of Virginia.",
