Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-05-02 15:30 – Updated: 2024-07-03 20:10Jenkins Git server Plugin 114.v068a_c7cc2574 and earlier does not perform a permission check for read access to a Git repository over SSH.
This allows attackers with a previously configured SSH public key but lacking Overall/Read permission to access Git repositories.
Git server Plugin 117.veb_68868fa_027 requires Overall/Read permission to access Git repositories over SSH.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2023-09-07 21:30 – Updated: 2024-01-25 18:30A vulnerability in the Embedded Service Router (ESR) of Cisco ISE could allow an authenticated, local attacker to read, write, or delete arbitrary files on the underlying operating system and escalate their privileges to root. To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker must have valid Administrator-level privileges on the affected device. This vulnerability is due to improper privilege management in the ESR console. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted request to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to elevate their privileges to root and read, write, or delete arbitrary files from the underlying operating system of the affected device. Note: The ESR is not enabled by default and must be licensed. To verify the status of the ESR in the Admin GUI, choose Administration > Settings > Protocols > IPSec.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-04-27 03:30 – Updated: 2026-04-27 03:30The Highland Software Custom Role Manager plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Privilege Escalation in versions up to and including 1.0.0. This is due to insufficient authorization checks in the hscrm_save_user_roles() function, which is hooked to the personal_options_update action accessible by any authenticated user. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access or higher, to potentially modify user roles via the profile update form.

Mitigation MIT-1
Very carefully manage the setting, management, and handling of privileges. Explicitly manage trust zones in the software.
Mitigation MIT-48
Strategy: Separation of Privilege
Follow the principle of least privilege when assigning access rights to entities in a software system.
Mitigation MIT-49
Strategy: Separation of Privilege
Consider following the principle of separation of privilege. Require multiple conditions to be met before permitting access to a system resource.
CAPEC-122: Privilege Abuse
An adversary is able to exploit features of the target that should be reserved for privileged users or administrators but are exposed to use by lower or non-privileged accounts. Access to sensitive information and functionality must be controlled to ensure that only authorized users are able to access these resources.
CAPEC-233: Privilege Escalation
An adversary exploits a weakness enabling them to elevate their privilege and perform an action that they are not supposed to be authorized to perform.
CAPEC-58: Restful Privilege Elevation
An adversary identifies a Rest HTTP (Get, Put, Delete) style permission method allowing them to perform various malicious actions upon server data due to lack of access control mechanisms implemented within the application service accepting HTTP messages.
