Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-02-12 00:31 – Updated: 2026-02-12 18:30Vulnerabilities in the My Account and User Management components in CIPPlanner CIPAce before 9.17 allows attackers to escalate their access levels. A low-privileged authenticated user can gain access to other people's accounts by tampering with the client's user id to change their account information. A low-privileged authenticated user can elevate his or her system privileges by modifying the information of a user role that is disabled in the client.

GHSA-974P-HHMC-6H46
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-09-13 18:31 – Updated: 2024-11-11 21:31An issue was discovered in Vaultwarden (formerly Bitwarden_RS) 1.30.3. A vulnerability has been identified in the authentication and authorization process of the endpoint responsible for altering the metadata of an emergency access. It permits an attacker with granted emergency access to escalate their privileges by changing the access level and modifying the wait time. Consequently, the attacker can gain full control over the vault (when only intended to have read access) while bypassing the necessary wait period.

GHSA-974Q-2M48-3288
Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-03-22 00:30 – Updated: 2026-03-22 00:30The Import and export users and customers plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation in all versions up to, and including, 1.29.7. This is due to the 'save_extra_user_profile_fields' function not properly restricting which user meta keys can be updated via profile fields. The 'get_restricted_fields' method does not include sensitive meta keys such as 'wp_capabilities'. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to escalate their privileges to Administrator by submitting a crafted registration request that sets the 'wp_capabilities' meta key. The vulnerability can only be exploited if the "Show fields in profile" setting is enabled and a CSV with a wp_capabilities column header has been previously imported.

Mitigation MIT-1
Very carefully manage the setting, management, and handling of privileges. Explicitly manage trust zones in the software.
Mitigation MIT-48
Strategy: Separation of Privilege
Follow the principle of least privilege when assigning access rights to entities in a software system.
Mitigation MIT-49
Strategy: Separation of Privilege
Consider following the principle of separation of privilege. Require multiple conditions to be met before permitting access to a system resource.
CAPEC-122: Privilege Abuse
An adversary is able to exploit features of the target that should be reserved for privileged users or administrators but are exposed to use by lower or non-privileged accounts. Access to sensitive information and functionality must be controlled to ensure that only authorized users are able to access these resources.
CAPEC-233: Privilege Escalation
An adversary exploits a weakness enabling them to elevate their privilege and perform an action that they are not supposed to be authorized to perform.
CAPEC-58: Restful Privilege Elevation
An adversary identifies a Rest HTTP (Get, Put, Delete) style permission method allowing them to perform various malicious actions upon server data due to lack of access control mechanisms implemented within the application service accepting HTTP messages.
