Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-03-21 03:36 – Updated: 2025-09-02 15:31An Improper Privilege Management vulnerability was identified in GitHub Enterprise Server that allowed an attacker to use the Enterprise Actions GitHub Connect download token to fetch private repository data. An attacker would require an account on the server instance with non-default settings for GitHub Connect. This vulnerability affected all versions of GitHub Enterprise Server prior to 3.12 and was fixed in versions 3.8.16, 3.9.11, 3.10.8, and 3.11.6. This vulnerability was reported via the GitHub Bug Bounty program.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-05-20 03:31 – Updated: 2026-05-20 03:31The Easy Elements for Elementor – Addons & Website Templates plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation via user registration in all versions up to, and including, 1.4.4. This is due to the 'easyel_handle_register' function not restricting what user roles a user can register with. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to supply the 'administrator' role during registration and gain administrator access to the site.

Mitigation MIT-1
Very carefully manage the setting, management, and handling of privileges. Explicitly manage trust zones in the software.
Mitigation MIT-48
Strategy: Separation of Privilege
Follow the principle of least privilege when assigning access rights to entities in a software system.
Mitigation MIT-49
Strategy: Separation of Privilege
Consider following the principle of separation of privilege. Require multiple conditions to be met before permitting access to a system resource.
CAPEC-122: Privilege Abuse
An adversary is able to exploit features of the target that should be reserved for privileged users or administrators but are exposed to use by lower or non-privileged accounts. Access to sensitive information and functionality must be controlled to ensure that only authorized users are able to access these resources.
CAPEC-233: Privilege Escalation
