Common Weakness Enumeration

CWE-191

Allowed

Integer Underflow (Wrap or Wraparound)

Abstraction: Base · Status: Draft

The product subtracts one value from another, such that the result is less than the minimum allowable integer value, which produces a value that is not equal to the correct result.

728 vulnerabilities reference this CWE, most recent first.

Details

The Honeywell Experion PKS contains an Integer Underflow

vulnerability

in the component Control Data Access (CDA). An attacker could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to

Input Data Manipulation, which could result in improper integer data value checking during subtraction leading to a denial of service.

Honeywell recommends updating to the most recent version of Honeywell Experion PKS:520.2 TCU9 HF1 and 530.1 TCU3 HF1.

The affected Experion PKS products are C300 PCNT02, C300 PCNT05, FIM4, FIM8, UOC, CN100, HCA, C300PM, and C200E. The Experion PKS versions affected are from 520.1 through 520.2 TCU9 and from 530 through 530 TCU3.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2026-07-23 21:31 – Updated: 2026-07-23 21:31
VLAI
Details

FFmpeg through 8.1.2 contains an out-of-bounds write vulnerability that allows attackers to cause heap corruption by supplying a crafted ffconcat file processed with the -safe 0 flag. The TY demuxer's demux_audio() function decrements packet size without bounds checking, producing a negative size value that is passed to memcpy() in shorten_decode_frame(), where conversion to size_t wraps the value to near SIZE_MAX and triggers reads beyond the source allocation and writes far beyond the Shorten decoder's bitstream buffer.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2022-05-12 00:00 – Updated: 2022-05-21 00:00
VLAI
Details

The TRENDnet TI-PG1284i switch(hw v2.0R) prior to version 2.0.2.S0 suffers from an integer underflow vulnerability. This vulnerability exists in its lldp related component. Due to lack of proper validation on length field of PortID TLV, by sending a crafted lldp packet to the device, integer underflow would occur and the negative number will be passed to memcpy() later, which may cause buffer overflow or invalid memory access.

Details

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

netfilter: nf_tables: fix nft_counters_enabled underflow at nf_tables_addchain()

syzbot is reporting underflow of nft_counters_enabled counter at nf_tables_addchain() [1], for commit 43eb8949cfdffa76 ("netfilter: nf_tables: do not leave chain stats enabled on error") missed that nf_tables_chain_destroy() after nft_basechain_init() in the error path of nf_tables_addchain() decrements the counter because nft_basechain_init() makes nft_is_base_chain() return true by setting NFT_CHAIN_BASE flag.

Increment the counter immediately after returning from nft_basechain_init().
