Title
Junos OS: MX with SPC3, SRX Series: A specifically malformed TCP packet causes a flowd crash
Summary
An Improper Validation of Specified Quantity in Input vulnerability in the TCP proxy plugin of Juniper Networks Junos OS on MX Series with SPC3, and SRX Series allows an unauthenticated, network-based attacker to cause a complete Denial of Service (DoS).
When TCP proxy is engaged in a flow session, to support ALGs, Advanced Anti-Malware, ICAP or UTM, a TCP packet with specifically malformed TCP header will cause flow processing daemon (flowd) to crash and restart. This causes a complete service outage until the system has automatically recovered.
This issue affects Junos OS on MX with SPC3, and SRX Series:
* 23.4 versions before 23.4R2-S7,
* 24.2 versions before 24.2R2-S4,
* 24.4 versions before 24.4R2-S3,
* 25.2 versions before 25.2R2.
This issue does not affect releases before 23.4R1.

Title
Junos OS: MX Series: Specific traffic causes an FPC to reset
Summary
An Improper Validation of Specified Quantity in Input vulnerability in the Packet Forwarding Engine (pfe) of Juniper Networks Junos OS on MX Series allows an unauthenticated, adjacent attacker to cause a Denial-of-Service (DoS).
When a specific packet is received from device in the same broadcast domain, an affected system calculates the packet size incorrectly. This causes further packet processing to fail, which triggers an FPC major error, resulting in a FPC reset impacting traffic until the FPC has automatically recovered.
Affected scenarios are: MAP-T, or non-IP traffic encapsulated in IP (e.g. MPLS over GRE).
When this issue happens the following logs can be observed:
fpc<#> CMError: /fpc/0/pfe/0/cm/0/MQSS(0)/0/MQSS_CMERROR_LI_INT_REG_UNROLL_TAIL_LENGTH_OVF (0x2205eb), scope: pfe, category: functional, severity: major, module: MQSS(0), type: LI: Unroll TAIL length overflow, oc_category: default
fpc<#> Performing action reset-fru for error /fpc/0/pfe/0/cm/0/MQSS(0)/0/MQSS_CMERROR_LI_INT_REG_UNROLL_TAIL_LENGTH_OVF (0x2205eb) in module: MQSS(0) with scope: pfe category: functional level: major, oc_category: default
This issue affects Junos OS on MX Series:
* all versions before 23.2R2-S6,
* 23.4 versions before 23.4R2-S7,
* 24.2 versions before 24.2R2-S4,
* 24.4 versions before 24.4R2-S4,
* 25.2 versions before 25.2R2.

Title
TLS 1.3 server denial of service via malformed ClientHello pre-shared key extension
Summary
The Erlang/OTP ssl application does not validate that the PSK identity list and binder list carried in a TLS 1.3 ClientHello pre-shared key extension have equal length before passing them to the session ticket handler. In tls_handshake_1_3:handle_pre_shared_key/3, an OfferedPreSharedKeys record with a mismatched number of identities and binders is forwarded directly to tls_server_session_ticket:use/4, which crashes the session ticket handler process.
An unauthenticated remote attacker can send a single crafted ClientHello to a TLS 1.3 server with session tickets enabled (stateful or stateless mode) and permanently disrupt session ticket handling on that listener. New TLS 1.3 handshakes complete but subsequently crash when the server attempts to issue a session ticket, effectively making TLS 1.3 unusable on the affected listener until the ssl application is restarted. TLS 1.2 connections are not affected.
This issue affects OTP from OTP 22.2 before OTP 29.0.3, OTP 28.5.0.3 and OTP 27.3.4.14, corresponding to ssl from 9.5 before 11.7.3, 11.6.0.3 and 11.2.12.10.

Title
NILFS utilities - Undefined Behavior and Out-of-Memory via Unvalidated s_log_block_size
Summary
NILFS utilities through 2.3.0, fixed in commit 26efb5d, nilfs_sb_is_valid() function fails to validate s_log_block_size field in NILFS2 superblock before bit-shift operations. Attackers supplying crafted NILFS2 images trigger undefined behavior through oversized shifts or out-of-memory conditions, crashing tools like nilfs-tune and dumpseg.

Title
BEAM VM crash via integer underflow in binary_to_term BIT_BINARY_EXT decoding
Summary
Integer Underflow (Wrap or Wraparound) vulnerability in erlang otp erlang/otp (erts modules), erlang otp erts (erts modules) allows Forced Integer Overflow, Excessive Allocation. This vulnerability is associated with program files erts/emulator/beam/external.c, emulator/beam/external.c.
The BIT_BINARY_EXT tag (77) handler in the External Term Format (ETF) decoder accepts an encoding with both length and trailing-bits fields set to zero. The subsequent computation of the bitstring size underflows an unsigned integer, producing a value of roughly 2^64 that is then passed as a memory allocation size. The allocator aborts the entire node with a message such as "Cannot allocate 2305843009213693951 bytes of memory (of type binary)".
The crash is a VM-level abort, not an Erlang-level exception. It cannot be intercepted by supervision trees, by try/catch, or by passing the [safe] option to binary_to_term/2 (which only restricts atom creation and does not perform structural validation of binary encodings).
Any application that decodes ETF from untrusted sources via binary_to_term/1,2 or enif_binary_to_term() is exposed. The Erlang distribution protocol also decodes incoming terms through the same code path, but distribution is expected to run on trusted networks per the OTP Secure Coding Guidelines (DSG-011).
This issue affects OTP from OTP 27.0 before OTP 29.0.4, OTP 28.5.0.4 and OTP 27.3.4.15, corresponding to erts from 15.0 before 17.0.4, 16.4.0.4 and 15.2.7.11.

Mitigation MIT-5
Implementation
Strategy: Input Validation
- Assume all input is malicious. Use an "accept known good" input validation strategy, i.e., use a list of acceptable inputs that strictly conform to specifications. Reject any input that does not strictly conform to specifications, or transform it into something that does.
- When performing input validation, consider all potentially relevant properties, including length, type of input, the full range of acceptable values, missing or extra inputs, syntax, consistency across related fields, and conformance to business rules. As an example of business rule logic, "boat" may be syntactically valid because it only contains alphanumeric characters, but it is not valid if the input is only expected to contain colors such as "red" or "blue."
- Do not rely exclusively on looking for malicious or malformed inputs. This is likely to miss at least one undesirable input, especially if the code's environment changes. This can give attackers enough room to bypass the intended validation. However, denylists can be useful for detecting potential attacks or determining which inputs are so malformed that they should be rejected outright.
No CAPEC attack patterns related to this CWE.
