Title
Misskey's Incomplete Patch of CVE-2024-52591 Leads to Forgery of Federated Notes
Summary
Misskey is an open source, federated social media platform. The patch for CVE-2024-52591 did not sufficiently validate the relation between the `id` and `url` fields of ActivityPub objects. An attacker can forge an object where they claim authority in the `url` field even if the specific ActivityPub object type require authority in the `id` field. Version 2025.2.1 addresses the issue.

Title
Improper timestamp caching during snapshot rollback in tough
Summary
During a snapshot rollback, the client incorrectly caches the timestamp metadata. If the client checks the cache when attempting to perform the next update, the update timestamp validation will fail, preventing the next update until the cache is cleared. Users should upgrade to tough version 0.20.0 or later and ensure any forked or derivative code is patched to incorporate the new fixes.

Title
Cisco Firepower Threat Defense Software Rate Filter Bypass Vulnerability
Summary
Multiple Cisco products are affected by a vulnerability in the rate filtering feature of the Snort detection engine that could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass a configured rate limiting filter. This vulnerability is due to an incorrect connection count comparison. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending traffic through an affected device at a rate that exceeds a configured rate filter. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to successfully bypass the rate filter. This could allow unintended traffic to enter the network protected by the affected device.

stoatchat (delta) versions before 20250210-1 (0.8.2) contain a logic error in the query messages route. When fetching messages 'nearby' another message, the database query can be given a message limit of zero, which the database interprets as 'no limit'. A remote unauthenticated attacker can craft nearby message fetch requests to download an entire channel's message history in a single expensive request, and can send many such requests in parallel, resulting in denial of service through resource exhaustion.

GHSA-76G3-38JV-WXH4

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2025-03-28 14:49 – Updated: 2025-10-14 21:59
VLAI
Summary
tough timestamp metadata is cached when it fails snapshot rollback check
Details

Summary

TUF repositories use the timestamp role to protect against rollback events by enabling an automated process to periodically sign the role's metadata. While tough will ensure that the version of snapshot metadata in new timestamp metadata files was always greater than or equal to the previously trusted version, it will only do so after persisting the timestamp metadata to its cache.

Impact

If the tough client successfully detects a rollback event in which timestamp metadata contains outdated snapshot metadata, the invalid timestamp metadata will still be persisted to cache as trusted. tough may then subsequently incorrectly identify valid timestamp metadata as being rolled back, preventing the client from consuming valid updates.

Impacted versions: < v0.20.0

Patches

A fix for this issue is available in tough version 0.20.0 and later. Customers are advised to upgrade to version 0.20.0 or later and ensure any forked or derivative code is patched to incorporate the new fixes.

Workarounds

There is no recommended work around. Customers are advised to upgrade to version 0.20.0 or the latest version.

Details

A flaw was found in Keycloak Policy Enforcer. This vulnerability allows any authenticated user to bypass all authorization policies, including role, scope, and User-Managed Access (UMA) permission checks. By including the configured access-denied page path within a request URL, either as a path segment or a query parameter, an attacker can gain unauthorized access to protected resources.

ArcadeDB before 26.8.1 contains an arbitrary file read vulnerability in the GraalVM JavaScript sandbox allowlist enforcement, which uses unescaped regular expressions to validate package names. Attackers with trigger creation privileges can use Java.type() to access java.util.zip.ZipFile or java.util.jar.JarFile classes and read arbitrary files on the host system as the ArcadeDB server process.

Vulnerability from github – Published: 2024-10-23 18:33 – Updated: 2024-10-23 18:33
VLAI
Details

Multiple Cisco products are affected by a vulnerability in the rate filtering feature of the Snort detection engine that could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to bypass a configured rate limiting filter.

This vulnerability is due to an incorrect connection count comparison. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending traffic through an affected device at a rate that exceeds a configured rate filter. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to successfully bypass the rate filter. This could allow unintended traffic to enter the network protected by the affected device.
