CVE-2026-10118 — Poppler: integer overflow in poppler splashoutputdev::tilingpatternfill leads to heap buffer overflow via unchecked dim…

Affected: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 Extended Update Support, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Advanced Mission Critical Update Support, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Extended Update Support Long-Life Add-On, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 Advanced Mission Critical Update Support, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6 Extended Update Support Long-Life Add-On, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 Telecommunications Update Service, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8 Update Services for SAP Solutions and 7 more

A flaw was found in Poppler's Splash backend. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by crafting a malicious PDF file that, when rendered, triggers an integer overflow in the `tilingPatternFill` function. This overflow leads to an undersized heap memory allocation, allowing a subsequent out-of-bounds write. Successful exploitation could result in arbitrary code execution, information disclosure, or denial of service within the context of the application processing the PDF.

USN-8400-1 — poppler vulnerability

Affected: Ubuntu:22.04:LTS: poppler, Ubuntu:24.04:LTS: poppler, Ubuntu:25.10: poppler, Ubuntu:26.04:LTS: poppler

It was discovered that poppler incorrectly handled certain malformed PDF
tiling patterns in the Splash backend. An attacker could possibly use this
issue to execute arbitrary code, obtain sensitive information, or cause a
denial of service.
