CWE-918

Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF)

The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination.

Title
Gotenberg SSRF via case-insensitive URL scheme bypass in webhook and downloadFrom deny-lists
Summary
Gotenberg is an API-based document conversion tool. In versions 8.30.1 and earlier, the default private-IP deny-lists for the --webhook-deny-list and --api-download-from-deny-list flags use a case-sensitive regular expression (^https?://) to match URL schemes. Because Go's net/url.Parse() normalizes the scheme to lowercase before establishing the outbound TCP connection, an attacker can bypass the deny-list by simply capitalizing part of the URL scheme (e.g., HTTP://, HTTPS://, or Http://). This allows unauthenticated requests to reach internal network services, including private IP ranges, loopback addresses, and cloud instance metadata endpoints such as HTTP://169.254.169.254/latest/meta-data/. This bypasses the same security control that was patched in CVE-2026-27018. This issue has been fixed in version 8.31.0.

Title
NocoBase has SSRF in Workflow HTTP Request and Custom Request Plugins
Summary
NocoBase is an AI-powered no-code/low-code platform for building business applications and enterprise solutions. Prior to version 2.0.37, NocoBase's workflow HTTP request plugin and custom request action plugin make server-side HTTP requests to user-provided URLs without any SSRF protection. An authenticated user can access internal network services, cloud metadata endpoints, and localhost. Version 2.0.37 contains a patch.

Title
Movary has Authenticated SSRF via Jellyfin Server URL Verification that Allows Internal Network Probing
Summary
Movary is a self hosted web app to track and rate a user's watched movies. Prior to version 0.71.1, an ordinary authenticated user can trigger server-side requests to arbitrary internal targets through `POST /settings/jellyfin/server-url-verify`. The endpoint accepts a user-controlled URL, appends `/system/info/public`, and sends a server-side HTTP request with Guzzle. Because there is no restriction on internal hosts, loopback addresses, or private network ranges, this can be abused for SSRF and internal network probing. Any ordinary authenticated user can use this endpoint to make the server connect to arbitrary internal targets and distinguish between different network states. This enables SSRF-based internal reconnaissance, including host discovery, port-state probing, and service fingerprinting. In certain deployments, it may also be usable to reach internal administrative services or cloud metadata endpoints that are not directly accessible from the outside. Version 0.71.1 fixes the issue.

Version 0.71.1 fixes the issue."

Title
ProcessWire CMS SSRF via Add Module From URL
Summary
ProcessWire CMS version 3.0.255 and prior contain a server-side request forgery vulnerability in the admin panel's 'Add Module From URL' feature that allows authenticated administrators to supply arbitrary URLs to the module download parameter, causing the server to issue outbound HTTP requests to attacker-controlled internal or external hosts. Attackers can exploit differentiable error messages returned by the server to perform reliable internal network port scanning, host enumeration across RFC-1918 ranges, and potential access to cloud instance metadata endpoints.

Title
OpenHarness SSRF via web_fetch and web_search
Summary
OpenHarness before commit bd4df81 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability in the web_fetch and web_search tools that allows attackers to access private and localhost HTTP services by manipulating tool parameters without proper validation of target addresses. Attackers can influence an agent session to invoke these tools against loopback, RFC1918, link-local, or other non-public addresses to read response bodies from local development services, cloud metadata endpoints, admin panels, or other private HTTP services reachable from the victim host.

Title
Apache Flink Kubernetes Operator: Server-Side Request Forgery and local file access in Kubernetes Operator
Summary
Files or Directories Accessible to External Parties, Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in Apache Flink Kubernetes Operator. The FlinkSessionJob jarURI is currently not validated so that it points to user-owned files or addresses.  This lets a user with CR create permissions read files from the operator pod's filesystem and pull content from any backing store reachable through Flink's pluggable filesystem layer and access them through the submitted Flink job. Furthermore for fetching from http/https addresses there is currently no allowlist on the URI scheme, no host check, no IP-range restriction, and no protection against pointing the URI at internal or link-local addresses. This issue affects Apache Flink Kubernetes Operator: from 1.3.0 before 1.15.0. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 1.15.0, which fixes the issue.

Title
FreeScout vulnerable to SSRF via IMAP/SMTP Connection Test Endpoints
Summary
FreeScout is a free self-hosted help desk and shared mailbox. Versions prior to 1.8.213 have a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the IMAP/SMTP connection test functionality of FreeScout's `MailboxesController`. Three AJAX actions `fetch_test` (line 731), `send_test` (line 682), and `imap_folders` (line 773) in `app/Http/Controllers/MailboxesController.php` pass admin-configured `in_server`/`in_port` and `out_server`/`out_port` values directly to `fsockopen()` via `Helper::checkPort()` and to IMAP/SMTP client connections with zero SSRF protection. There is no IP validation, no hostname restriction, no blocklist of internal ranges, and no call to the project's own `sanitizeRemoteUrl()` or `checkUrlIpAndHost()` functions. The validation block in `connectionIncomingSave()` is entirely commented out. An authenticated admin can configure a mailbox's IMAP or SMTP server to point at any internal host and port, then trigger a connection test. The server opens raw TCP connections (via `fsockopen()`) and protocol-level connections (via IMAP client or SMTP transport) to the attacker-specified target. The response differentiates open from closed ports, enabling internal network port scanning. When the IMAP client connects to a non-IMAP service, the target's service banner or error response is captured in the IMAP debug log and returned in the AJAX response's `log` field, making this a semi-blind SSRF that enables service fingerprinting. In cloud environments, the metadata endpoint at `169[.]254[.]169[.]254` can be probed and partial response data may be leaked through protocol error messages. This is distinct from the `sanitizeRemoteUrl()` redirect bypass (freescout-3) -- different code path, different root cause, different protocol layer. Version 1.8.213 patches the vulnerability.

There is no IP validation, no hostname restriction, no blocklist of internal ranges, and no call to the project\u0027s own `sanitizeRemoteUrl()` or `checkUrlIpAndHost()` functions. The validation block in `connectionIncomingSave()` is entirely commented out. An authenticated admin can configure a mailbox\u0027s IMAP or SMTP server to point at any internal host and port, then trigger a connection test. The server opens raw TCP connections (via `fsockopen()`) and protocol-level connections (via IMAP client or SMTP transport) to the attacker-specified target. The response differentiates open from closed ports, enabling internal network port scanning. When the IMAP client connects to a non-IMAP service, the target\u0027s service banner or error response is captured in the IMAP debug log and returned in the AJAX response\u0027s `log` field, making this a semi-blind SSRF that enables service fingerprinting. Version 1.8.213 patches the vulnerability."

Title
AVideo has an incomplete fix for CVE-2026-33039 (SSRF)
Summary
WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions 29.0 and below, an incomplete SSRF fix in AVideo's LiveLinks proxy adds `isSSRFSafeURL()` validation but leaves DNS TOCTOU vulnerabilities where DNS rebinding between validation and the actual HTTP request redirects traffic to internal endpoints. Commit 8d8fc0cadb425835b4861036d589abcea4d78ee8 contains an updated fix.

Title
AVideo's SSRF via same-domain hostname with alternate port bypasses isSSRFSafeURL
Summary
WWBN AVideo is an open source video platform. In versions 29.0 and below, the `isSSRFSafeURL()` function in `objects/functions.php` contains a same-domain shortcircuit (lines 4290-4296) that allows any URL whose hostname matches `webSiteRootURL` to bypass all SSRF protections. Because the check compares only the hostname and ignores the port, an attacker can reach arbitrary ports on the AVideo server by using the site's public hostname with a non-standard port. The response body is saved to a web-accessible path, enabling full exfiltration. Commit a0156a6398362086390d949190f9d52a823000ba fixes the issue.

CAPEC-664: Server Side Request Forgery

An adversary exploits improper input validation by submitting maliciously crafted input to a target application running on a server, with the goal of forcing the server to make a request either to itself, to web services running in the server’s internal network, or to external third parties. If successful, the adversary’s request will be made with the server’s privilege level, bypassing its authentication controls. This ultimately allows the adversary to access sensitive data, execute commands on the server’s network, and make external requests with the stolen identity of the server. Server Side Request Forgery attacks differ from Cross Site Request Forgery attacks in that they target the server itself, whereas CSRF attacks exploit an insecure user authentication mechanism to perform unauthorized actions on the user's behalf.
